I purchased an older version of this jacket (about 5 years ago), so take this review with a grain of salt, the lining technology may have improved since then. After a year or two of normal wear, the lining started to flake and peel away from the outer layer of the jacket (coming off on my skin). I sent it to the warranty department and they could not repair it, but are sending me a replacement. Great customer service.
I have never loved the way these HyVent and similar tech-lined rain jackets (including those at other places like Columbia) sweat on the inside. Eventually you feel like the rain is getting in or that your own sweat is beading up inside the jacket. Either way, not a great feeling. In general, I prefer mesh-lined jackets because they feel more comfortable on your skin. This is a great lightweight rain jacket for short periods of wearing (think quick tropical shower, not all-day London rain).

I love this jacket! The fit and length are just right. But, the color is completely off. I ordered the sugary pink and it's nothing like the cute pink in the picture. It's neon pink. I still really like it, but it was still disappointing.

I received this jacket as a Christmas present and wore it today on a trip to the beach in the Northwest. It has great wind protection with the exception of the pockets, which are made with holed netting material. I could feel the small amount of wind that came up from the bottom of the jacket on my hands as they rested in the pockets and it was cold. I won't be able to protect my hands while wearing this jacket unless I wear gloves, bummer.

this jacket is perfect for warmish wettish weather and will go over a sweater if need be.

Wise purchase. Worth the money. It can be worn all year round and is easy to layer with. The under arm vents are going to come in handy this summer. If you live in a region with ever changing weather patterns where it's sunny with a 20% chance of rain turns into a monsoon, invest.

I loved the older model but this one works too, there are some things that I just can't get over; the pit zips (what do I need these for) and the noise this thing makes when you're moving about. Reminds me of those times I wore the windbreaker tracksuits when I was a kid. But over all its a good jacket :)

Great service however the spicy orange color on website did not seem like the actual color that was received plus the trim looked black on website but it was actually navy

I work in downtown Seattle where battling rain this time of year is a given. This jacket has already proven to be waterproof. I love the hood because it is deep enough to stay on my head even when I am wearing a ponytail. The velcro straps on the wrists are nice for adjusting how loose or tight you want them, depending on what you are layering underneath. The jacket zips all the way up to my chin to keep wind and rain out. I ordered both the Black and Miami Orange Venture Jackets in women's XXL. Online the Miami Orange looked more coral in color but, it was in fact orange orange. The fit is great; I'm a 16/18 or a XL-XXL top. There is room for me to wear a sweatshirt underneath. The sleeves are not short nor is the jacket. I would buy every color :) Hope this helps!

Bought this jacket in Small, Brilliant Blue. (I'm 5'4", 110lbs, large shoulders, long arms, wide back, short torso, small waist). Gorgeous color, great fit, high quality, perfectly lightweight and breathable. Would be nice if the waist was a bit tapered to show a more feminine figure, but fantastic buy overall :)

You must have long sleeves underneath or layers at all times or you will freeze. This doesn't provide warmth, just simply blocks rain. My black jacket arrived dirty with white streaks all over that did not wash off. Not sure if it was a prior return.

The NF shell is not true to size. It is way too small. I have to order a size bigger... annoying.

I had always liked the Venture 2 but it is has become so very thin. I returned and ordered a different Northface rain jacket.

I think I stated above . But ..
The fabric is not the same as evacuate same item bought 12 to 15 years ago .. It is not as sturdy.
Too flimsy. I am afraid it will not hold up as well .
The fit is also not the same smaller chest measurement and length.

I think I have the old version of this jacket with the adjustable sleeves, but for some reason the arms of the new style seem insanely long. Even when tightened they seemed awfully long and uncomfortable. Other than that, it's a great coat.

I bought based on the size chart and it barely fit when it should be a little over sized. I got the next size up and its only a little better - I need 2 sizes up but now they're out of the color that I want. I'm disappointed that their size chart is so inaccurate. This is cut for a woman with a straight line for hips - if you have a curve in your hips you'll find it restrictive there.

I love this jacket, I own 5 in different colors from previous years, just ordered the clay pink in extra small my usual size and the sizing is different, smaller and less room in the shoulders if I bend my elbows and stretch forwards to do a movement test, it's restricting unlike my other jackets, so disappointed, I had to send it back Knowing this, I will size up to a small for the venture 2 jacket.

I'm not sure if it's because I washed it but this jacket is not waterproof. After walking in rain when I take off the jacket my arms and clothing shirt is wet

I've worn this jacket a few times and it's held up. It's super light weight which is nice in the spring, nothing spectacular about this raincoat.
