I was expecting a cushioning supportive shoe after reading the reviews and looking at the illustrations.The toe box is roomy, but otherwise this shoe is nothing what I expected.The toe turns up at a high angle and the heel forces the foot back on a negative angle. I did not find this shoe cushioning at all. I felt compelled to write a review because it wasn't what it was portrayed in my estimation.Also, for lack of a better term, when I took the shoe out of the box I said this ! how's shape looks..."weird"!I own other high end sneakers just to clarify.

These are really comfortable. I wore Transcends 3 for the last two years and went through 4 pairs between walking around and workouts. I was worried about trying the Transcend 4's. They are great. Very solid and comfortable and the cushioning was massively improved. I'm glad they made a toned down color for women as well, I bought the purple. I hope that Brooks always keeps a toned down color version for women. While I like color, the previous bright colors didn't work at work and other social situations.

I am not a runner, but wear running shoes most the time due to previous injuries. I need support, cushion and stability. This shoe seems better to me than the Adrenaline. I don't care for the shiny purple on the side, so am going to try the Black Diva one. I hope it works.

I did not buy these on Zappos. I went into a mom and pop running store to be fit (per my foot doctor). These were the most comfortable of the many shoes I tried on. I took the arch support out and wear with my orthotic inserts. I am very happy with the stability and comfort. They are a heavier feeling shoe than I am used to, but my podiatrist suggested wearing these all of the time, even for work. I have been wearing them for maybe 6 weeks now and am looking to buy an additional pair. Wish they were less colorful (maybe grays) so I would feel less awkward about wearing with my work attire.

These are INCREDIBLE. Truth be told, I am no longer a runner because of foot injuries, but I still spend the big bucks on these shoes because they are SO supportive and comfortable! I feel like I'm walking on clouds in these. I have purchased many versions of the Trance/Transcend over the past 10 years or so, and I think this is the best version that Brooks has made. So comfortable!! Bravo, Brooks!

very comfortable, no blisters, wore out of the box and no aches or blisters. I have plantar fasciitis, these were very good for that.

this shoe is so comfortable !...has been perfect for running and walking.

Great show and style. Was afraid it might be too colorful, but the color blend is wonderful. I was told I needed more support for beginning plantar fasciitis, and these shoes have it. No breaking in was necessary. Perfect right out of the box. I have already walked 10 miles in them with no problems

Very plush shoe. Plenty of room in toe box. I ordered my normal Brooks size, but debating exchanging for a half size smaller. My orthotics fit well. Would prefer this shoe came in a slightly more neutral color scheme.

these are the very best shoes I have ever put on my feet. The support is phenomenal , the fit is true to size, and the cushioning....OMG I feel like I'm walking on clouds....I wasn't thrilled to pay $160 for a pair of shoes, but now I wouldn't hesitate to do it again...You get what you pay for

I looooove this shoe. I don't run anymore, but I use these for work, exercise (spin and walking) and general running around. They are super comfortable without being a clunky motion control shoe - I find the cushioning great! I wear them all day. They fit my orthotics really well including one w/ a bit of heel lift. I switched to these from Newtons - they've changed their shoes too much and don't have the support I once liked, and have awkward color combinations.

I LOVE this shoe. It makes me actually look forward to exercising. I have the trifecta of flat/bony, pronating feet with bunions, woo! I walk 20-30 miles/wk and fitness classes 3X/wk. I have to have a shoe with arch and overall support, but with a lot of cushioning too, since I'm over 50. This shoe also has great tread for long life (I think, anyway), plus a mid-foot springboard of some kind to help propel me forward as the foot progresses through the step. It also looks futuristic & cool...like something Batgirl would run in. :-) I have the black/pink/teal and take a 9 or 9.5 in regular shoes, but a 10 in this shoe. (ditto for my New Balance 860's, which I also ADORE) I'm not an expert in every brand out there, but it's been my experience so far that athletic shoes generally run smaller than street shoes.

Better than Transcend 3!! This is the best running/walking/multi-purpose shoe I have ever had!!! I purchased the Transcend 3 last year and thought it was the best.....then along came Transcend 4!!!! Words can not describe!!!!

I had worn the Adrenaline 15 and loved it, but needed more cushion for my joints. This had it for sure, felt so great, even with my own inserts made for me. The ridge of the tongue on the left shoe made a slight sore spot and I knew I'd end up with a blister if I wore them outside "for real". I wished they would have worked. I do not run, but wear tennis shoes most the time, and these were smooth and kept my over pronation in check with the guide rail system on this shoe. That was a plus over Adrenaline, as they are firmer and a bit clunker from heal to toe than these.

I ordered these Brooks along with a pair of Saucony running shoes. I put one on each foot and within 10 minutes knew that the Brooks were the winners. Nice, cushy support. And they look good too...bonus!!

Love this shoe. It's light and feels like I'm walking on a cloud. I love it so much more than the previous version, which I was also impressed with. I'm an overpronater with a flat arch, but this shoe definitely works for me.

These shoes have the support I need for standing 10 hours. They are not as wide in the toe area as the 3's were but I like that as it feels like my foot isn't sliding around & is more stable. My feet got extremely hot in the 3's on the bottom from all the cushioning. So far these haven't done that but maybe it's due to some of the changes made in the cushioning. Best shoe I've tried in a long time. If they come out with more colors I will purchase another pair.

This sneaker is very comfortable and provides excellent support . This style fits my narrow heal high arch foot perfect . The support and comfort is just as good as all my past Brooks sneakers .

This shoe is outrageously comfortable -- the most stable shoe I've found yet -- with great arch support and cushioning. Normal sizing and width... I have a metatarsal problem and had a very hard time finding any shoe that had enough cushioning under the ball of the foot as well as throughout the rest of the shoe. These are great!

Extremely comfortable, great shoe for running or just walking. I have the Brooks Transcend 3 shoe and absolutely love it, this shoe is even better!!! Zappos shipped SUPER fast, ordered one day, received shoes the next day!!!!! WOW!!

These are nice. Nice wide toe box for splaying while running. Do wish they were a bit more cushiony but they’re not uncomfortable after a run. The black ones are a nicely subdued color scheme without looking like dorky black sneakers.

Interesting shoe: Middle of sole is almost rounded, creating a rocking/springing motion as your foot rolls from heel to toe. Very cushy. Toe box seems just a tad wide.

I loved this shoe when I first put it on. It is very cushioned and has lots of room in the forefoot but doesn't slip off my narrow heel (hard combo to fit!). Unfortunately, the design of the tongue results in a hard edge at the corners, and I could feel a blister forming after a 5 min jog on my treadmill. If Brooks redesigns the tongue, I will definitely give this shoe another try.

Fits well in as far as heel and toe box. I have narrowed heels and wide toe box. However, the arch support is way to much for my flatter feet. I wish I would have returned but thought I would get used to it. Will not buy again. I typically buy the Ariel (didn't like new color) or Adrenalin
