Have been a New Balance customer for years. These V2's are not as good of quality compared to previous in the 857 series. 1) They are narrower and also have less stability in the forefoot so your feet will roll to and over the outside edge of the shoe. This has been confirmed by my PTs, podiatrist, and the people who make my orthotics. 2) If you wear orthotics, V2's are best in wider sizes, which they run out of. 3) We also noticed that even in the original 857's, the black shoes are narrower, and thus your foot will be more crowded and apt to roll to the outside as well. 4) In addition, the stability stitching part of the outside forefoot of the shoe is slightly in a different place than the white shoes, which in turn accentuates the lack of stability compared to the white ones. New Balance 850 Series have been my tools of trade as a PE Teacher with psoriatic arthritis by years, and they've been the ones my doctors have been in agreement as the best for my situation. They also say they are much better for me than any of the other New Balance lines as well. Will have to switch to some other brand if these V2's continue to be in existence. New Balance used to have a winning formula. Their newest version(s) can be considered as good of an idea as "New Coke"

Great quality. Very comfortable and fit true to size.

The other brand was a very light shoe but that's 'cause it uses much less material. This NB shoe is substantial and not topped with mesh. The top is solid which keeps the weather out. Not a trivial thing where I live. And this shoe is the only one I could find that comes in 6E. No other brand has a 6E which I have come to need. It would be nice if NB could make other 6Es. And with the other brand you can't remove the insole for cleaning. Any NB shoe I've ever had you can always remove the insole for cleaning. Because of foot problems this is now the only shoe I can wear so I got two pair. One white pair for summer and a black pair for winter.

Great overall support of my foot in these shoes while I'm in the gym. Love New Balance for their quality shoes in wider fits.

In the past, I've put lots of holes in my shoes. Because these are leather - not mesh or synthetic leather, I've had no such problems. I've been using this type of shoe for the past couple years and they never let me down.

The 857v2 is worth the price. Excellent fit in length and width (14 2E). I use them for weight training and cardio. I added the high impact insole for additional comfort and protection

I use these shoes for work. They support my feet and provide plenty of cushion at the heal. They are comfortable as soon as you put them on.

Love new balance products from the first pair of shoes i purchased, would recommend to all my friends.

Yes, the 857's are great shoes. Tons of stability and support. My problem is that I am a retailer and I can't get this product to sell to my customers as they have been back ordered for months. To take care of my long standing customer, I was forced to order this shoe on the consumer web site and pay retail for it to take care of my customer. It just doesn't seem right.

This is my third pair of the 857's. I waited to long to replace my previous pair. My feet, ankles, knee's and hips were killing me and I though it was just age catching up to me. Immediately I felt the error of my ways (dad's cheep) just ask my kids. Just about 2 weeks in and the only pain left is knees climbing stairs, but even that is much less. It's got me on a new mission to get back to barefooting it like a kid. :-)

This shoe provides support, stability, comfort and grip. I am amazed at this product and just ordered my second pair after my first pair order just a month ago. THANK YOU NEW BALANCE.

They fit and wear well considering I put 10-15 miles a day on these shoes.

Have been using New Balance shoes since my doctor recommended the brand. They last and are comfortable.

I always buy new balance since I found them with the stabilizer bar. I was in an accident 16 years ago and ended up being partially paralyzed in my left leg, the stabilizer bar in my new balance shoes help me prevent rolling my ankle.
