Nice looking shoe, but too narrow for a EE width, and not enough cushioning.

The EE is way, way too narrow. Not even close to the right size. So tight I checked the label to see if they shipped me the wrong shoe.

If you truly have a wide foot do not waste your time in ordering this shoe.

Excellent looking shoe, no break in required. Only width in my side was wide and glad I got it. Fits perfectly on my not so wide foot!

These run really narrow. The EE is more like a Medium width and was too narrow for me and I often can wear a M width. They also run a bit short in length. I didn't especially like the looks with the pointy toe either so they went back.

I've always been a huge fan of NB trainers. Their minimalist design and wide sizing were key to getting me back into fitness and running. However this latest version of their minimalist trainer has me longing for the older styles. Like most people here I have an issue with the "wide" sizing on this shoe. It feels narrower than most Normal sizes. Please bring back the old wide sizes!

This is my first shoe review ever, but I thought it was worth it...
I'd had these shoes for about a week when one of my clients asked me how I liked them. And I had to think about it. I told her that I didn't really know because I didn't notice them.
And I thought that was a great review. Lol. I'd run, squatted, snatched, rope climbed and box jumped. And never once was I bothered by my shoes.
TL;DR: they're the best.

These shoes are excellent for someone with wide toes, or someone used to a shoe with a wide toe box. I tried Reebok, Nike, Inov-8, and others looking for a shoe to fit my foot. I run in Altra running shoes and really like the wide toe box. These NB trainers are an excellent fit! Thin, but supportive cushioning and solidly grounded.

I just wrote a review of this show, but forgot one thing: I went out for a 2 mile run on concrete sidewalks this afternoon and these shoes did not provide enough cushioning in the heel for running on hard surfaces. It doesn't matter to me, since I am not a runner and have other shoes, but I will definitely not use these shoes to run outdoors on hard surfaces.

These are by far the best workout shoes I have owned! I primarily do HIIT-style workouts. Lots of running in place, jumping up and down and side-to-side, moderate weight lifting, lots and lots of burpees. These shoes feel very comfortable and provide excellent feedback to my feet. I feel "grounded" the entire time, especially after jumping and landing - great support and excellent stability.

I've worn Reebok as well as Nike for crossfit workouts. I do like the Reebok Nano's but they stopped making size 15 so i switched to Nike Metcon. I felt Nike was too narrow so I switched to New Balance. These are good shoe with a roomie toe box. If you plan on lifting and running this shoe provides a good combination.

These are a little softer than I expected based on other reviews--softer than my current shoes designed for running with thicker soles. I don't understand why other reviewers think these are narrow; these felt wider than my current running shoes. The toe box is plenty wide, which is usually narrower for me in most shoes, and the heal seems a bit too wide unless I laced them to pull it tight with the extra hole to form a loop and cross-over so it pulls on the heal towards the front. The only tightness I felt was because the laces can be a little tight on the top of the foot in the middle over my arch, but that just required adjusting where they are cinched down by loosening the middle and tightening towards the ends. The style was not exactly as I expected (it is a little elf like because of the way they are cut that causes it to appear long in the toe and flat on your foot in real life as compared to the photos, but I think I'll get used to it).

Good shoe for FITT and crossfit training who need added support. I have a very low arch and recovering from plantar faciatis and so far it has helped. I also have orthotics in them for the extra support for the plantar and so far so good. You definitely get what you pay for in this shoes.

Good training shoe for weight lifting and cross fit. Very comfortable and fits well. The shoe is a little long but still comfortable. Colors are a little loud.

Nice shoe. Fits well (needed a larger size than usual) and looks great. (Gets a lot of comments). I like the feel of the shoe, gives me good balance and support and the shoe is really light. Makes for an excellent all terrain walking shoe

My husband purchased these shoes because of the vibram outsole. He tests shoes and knew that they would be durable. After wearing them to work he said that they are extremely comfortable as well! Definitely a great investment! And as always, thank you, Zappos for your wonderful customer service!

This shoe seemed like a fine shoe, but even in the EE or WIDE width, it was so narrow I could barely get my foot into it. Particularly at the toe box and forefoot where the laces end, it's really small. There was no way I could wear these so I had to return them. If New Balance is going to narrow lasts like this across their line, wide-footed people are going to be almost completely out of luck finding decent sport shoes.

Wore a pair in a step/cardio class three times a week for a little over a year. Needed about three weeks for my feet to get used to the lower heel, but the fit is very good and the shoe feels much lighter than the 517 pair I had worn. Bought a second pair of Minimus 40 last month to alternate with the first pair. Will definitely keep using these for step/cardio.

Many reviews mentioning shoe being too narrow. I have a narrow foot and fit well. Using for Crossfit. So far so good after 1 week.

This is a great pair of shoes for all-around gym activities. I received my first pair of the minimus 40 trainers a little over two years ago (August 2016) and they have held up great. I just now ordered another pair to replace my first pair due to the soles wearing down and because they were smelling pretty bad (personal problems). I have trained an average of 4 days per week in these shoes mainly doing powerlifting exercises (squats, deadlifts, etc.), plyometrics/jumps, and other various cardio exercises. This shoe is lightweight and durable, not to mention pretty cool looking as well. I would recommend ordering a half size down as I am normally a size 10 in NB shoes but wear a 9.5 in these. I do like my shoes to fit a little more snug for working out, however. If you are considering buying these, do it! You won't be disappointed.

I absolutely love this shoe! It fits me perfectly. I've had no foot pain whatsoever since day one. They're true to their name as they have a "minimal" presence on the feet. I forget they're there. I'm not sure how, but they're super lightweight, yet still feel supportive, cushioning, and durable. I'd say this is a shoe that does EVERYTHING right. Great job New Balance!
