These shoes have been great for lifting, cross training, and other workouts. They are comfortable, stable, and an all around great shoe. I can't speak to running because I've never enjoyed that as much as other options. Take that as you will, but for what I do, these are highly recommended.

Much better running shoe for CrossFit workouts than the Reebox Nano.

I am new to Crossfit, about 3 months and have worn Nike Metcon and New Balance Minimus Trainer. the first two months were w/ the Metcon's and the last month is with NB Minimus. The New Balance Minimus is by far a more comfortable shoe for me to work out in, and I find they dont pinch my foot as much as the Metcons. I bought a standard size (not wide). One month in, and no durability issues with the shoe.

These shoes are perfect for any workout. Doesn't matter if I'm doing weight training or running they continue to feel well balanced and comfortable. My only wish is that they were available in all black but with my experience with them I will definitely purchase again in the future.

I mainly do Crossfit, HIIT, and major lifting cycles. I run, jump, and lift in these. I only break out a true lifting shoe when going for maxes otherwise i'm in this shoe 100% of the time. Looking forward to the next iteration and new or returning color choices. I normally wear a 9.5 but this is a 9 wide.

When it comes to a training shoe, I look for shoes that allow me to feel the ground. These shoes have a great low profile feel with a lot of support from the upper.

I do cardio classes and weight classes and these shoes are a plus, nice height and good cushioning.

I have never really been a New Balance fan but this shoe is fantastic. Light stable shoe, great vibram soles, good for running, walking, and training!

I found out about these shoes on one of the "top gym shoes" lists. At first I didn't think much of them, I tried on quite a few pairs before even considering these.
I went to 2 different NB stores and a few other shoe stores with no luck finding them. I decided to try my luck with the online option, and am I glad I did! These shoes fit great. I have a narrow size 12 foot and it's harder to find the length I need at the proper width. I always end up having both sets of eyelets touching on top of the shoe. I love how lightweight and breathable they are, I don't feel my feet sweat as much in these as other shoes. These shoes have been great at the gym. I'm not a big runner, but for everything I've done, they are awesome. They have a few different color options too!
I would definitely recommend these to someone and I will absolutely be buying another pair when these wear out.

This is shoe is one of my all time favorites, second only to the discontinued MX20V4. The tongue on the MX20V5 was unbearable, so I was happy to see this shoe come out with a normal tongue. Apparently NB learned their lesson because the MX20V6 ditched the burrito tongue experiment. The MX40V1 offers a little more support than the more minimalist MX20. I'd recommend either.
I'd also recommend:

I was a new balance guy, and made the switch over to Reebok about 5 years ago. I wasn't happy with them and I absolutely love these! The support, cushion, and feel is superb!

This is the only "trainer" that I found available in EE(wide) sizes. They fit great.
I do a lot of HIIT and Bootcamp training at the gym, and I didn't like the position that traditional running shoes would put me in for squats, and the instability during lateral movements. These shoes level out the foot, have a ton of grip, and enough cushion for the shorter running durations. They also work fine for longer distances on the treadmill. Outside I wouldn't wear them further than 2 miles, but I have other shoes for that anyway. Overall I'm extremely happy with the shoes.

Great shoe. I use them strictly at my table tennis club and I'm very happy with them. I tried on other Minimus shoes but the burrito tongue was a show stopper for me as it would dig in too much at the top of my foot. The Minimus 40 with its traditional tongue was way more comfortable. They are light, stable and secure and work great for the quick lateral movements needed in table tennis. I like the 4mm drop as I feel close to the ground, planted and yet light on my feet which gives me a slight boost in confidence. My previous shoes weren't as stable and there were times I thought I was going to roll an ankle. I have fairly wide feet so I appreciate that these came in the wider size. Assuming they don't change the shoe too much in the future, I will definitely buy these again.

Have tried quite a few shoes for XF and, until now, the best fitting shoes for my feet were the Inov-8 F195. Second was an earlier version (MT20GR) in the NB Minimus line. More recently, I was primarily training in the Reebok Speed TRs, which fit okay but were still a bit sloppy. I decided to try the MX40s and it was love at first try. 12s fit perfectly and I have now put these through the paces from rope climbs, oly lifts, running WODS, etc., and they have performed beautifully. No slop or bunching of the fabric, and after more than 50 workouts they look new. Came on the NB website to order another pair in a different color and decided to post a review. Well done New Balance.

No complaints with the shoe! The width (2E) runs a little narrower than expected, but feels good as it is. If the shoe hold up well over time (2 workouts a week), then it will definitely be an excellent purchase.

Very comfortable and light. I had to order a wide size to fit well (typically do not need to do that).
