I purchased these boots for a horse riding trip in Iceland. I could not be more pleased. The leather is high quality and my feet stayed totally dry and warm the whole time. Highly recommend!

I live in West Michigan and recently started riding again, and I needed some actual serious winter riding boots as my old pair (just leather with fleece lining) no longer zip over my leg. These are perfect. The laces allow them to adjust to fit, and the back zip makes them easy to pull on and off. They have broken in very easily and quickly, and they are VERY warm. I rode in 35F weather this week, and my feet stayed toasty in these boots with regular socks and silk liners, and that helped the rest of me stay warm even though I'm still riding in cotton breeches. They've kept my feet dry in mud and rain, and they clean up beautifully with a quick swipe of saddle soap. If you're deciding between these and the Berwicks, apparently these are riding boots you can also do chores in and the Berwicks are barn boots you can also ride in (look at the tread). Since I'm mostly riding, these were great for me. Like most winter riding boots, they're not quite as tall as regular tall boots, but they do the trick and I have shorter calves anyway. They're a little bit wider in the foot than my Ariat paddock boots, so you may need to get wider stirrups, but they don't look like Frankenstein boots on--I have gotten compliments from everyone at the barn each time I've gone. The only downside I would say is that they're not quite as supportive to walk around in as my regular Ariat paddock boots. I look forward to many winters with these boots.

These are very sturdy/high quality boots but probably not meant for a lot of walking. There were a few pressure points when I tried them on that could start hurting after a day of walking in them. There is a zipper and laces so they are good for people with different calf widths.

I have wanted to try these boots for quite a while and finally had the chance. Totally love them. I have worn Ariats for years but had noticed that their paddock boots had gone done a bit in quality. These have not. The leather is lovely, they fit me perfectly (I wear an 8 shoe and the 8s I purchased fit just fine). I like that they zip all the way up and that you can adjust the fit on the calf with the ties in front. They look great - I hate to wear them to the barn but of course I will! Don't think you can go wrong if you are looking for a pair of winter riding boots (or walking around town either). Classy, stylish and well made. What more could you ask for.

I bought these for my daughter to use while taking dressage lessons in winter. The laces make leg fit easy for those with wider calves or winter riding pants. They are perfect for taking lessons in cold winter. They have bend to them and structure while adding some extra warmth. You can get heavier duty boots with more insulation but it makes lesson riding difficult if you can’t drop your heel. Great boots!

These boots get two thumbs up all the way around for both function and fashion. I live in the mountains of western Colorado and ride outside 3-5x a week all fall and winter. I am always cold...but these boots keep me warm and dry AND I am happy to run errands in them because they are so cute and comfortable! Was worried they would be too tall for me at the back of the calf as I am 5'5", thin, with short and thin legs but they are perfect! The back zip to get in and out of them is key. And they are bomb proof. I muck stalls, hike, and ride dressage in them and they still look new. Easy to clean. Have been in mud, snow and manure. Highly, highly recommend!

i am an equestrian, ariat lover and shoe snob. these boots are AMAZING. the holy grail if you have a thicker calf but love cool styles. I think if you had very skinny claves they may be too wide up top? not sure. I loved these right out of the box, and am considering buying another pair jsut in case ariat quits making them. very nice. I havent tried them in rain but i can tell they are water repellant. I have a pair of Duberry boots and may sell them. I like these way more!! you will not be disappointed! PS ran true to size, comfy right out of the box!!

Beautiful!! I ordered these boots for an upcoming trip to Iceland. They are insulated and feel great on...only a little too heavy for hiking any distance or the suitcase. Maybe I'll re-order next winter?

Love this boot for chores and for riding. It's warm, the elastic laces make for a perfect fit no matter what pants/sock combo you're wearing. The Ariat footbed is super comfortable for all day on your feet with chores. Tall enough and not bulky make it great for riding. I still have a great feel, even for jumping. Waterproof up to the laces and clean up back to looking new. I sized up to wear with average thickness (not bulky) wool socks.

I have worn these on cold days, on muddy footing, on the ground, and while riding. They are well-made and have great insulation from bottom to top. The zipper on the boot does not come below the ankle and the boot came with a long shoe horn. I was worried that I would not be able to get my stiff right ankle into the boot because it does not bend. The ability to loosen the laces and the shoe horn made it easy. Once I discovered the tab inside the boot behind the ankle that lets you pull the boot on, just as you would any ankle-high boot, I no longer needed the shoe horn. The boot lacings adapt to my wider left knee and inflexible right ankle. And they are very comfortable to walk in. I will miss wearing them when the weather gets warmer. The sizing is similar to other Ariat boots.

These are the first boots I've had that actually seem to be as waterproof as they say, plus keep my toes warm at reasonably cold temps (didn't have an issue until about 2 degrees and I wasn't wearing a double layer of socks as usual). They're amazingly beautiful and functional, and hope to have them for many years!
I could have probably gone a full size up for extra sock layers but the half size up I chose works well enough.

I love these boots. They've held up for a few years now and I get so many compliments. Comfortable to wear all day, warm and they keep my feet dry. I'm rough on boots, and these have kept up with my demands.

Coniston Pro GORE-TEX Insulated Boot is by far the best design Ariat has developed in winter boots. I have worn every English boot they've made: paddock boots, trail boots, tall dress boots, insulated and non-insulated. The sizing is true to Ariat's dependable manufacturing. The calf and height measurements are exactly as stated. I like the 17" height, as my tall riding boots tended to be too "dramatic" at 18.5". The fit is perfect from the minute you put them on and no need to "break them in." The leather is soft and supple, the zipper worked fine, and love those elastic shoe lacesthey even include an extra pair! The insulation is warm, but wear your usual wool socks to keep your toes warm. The waterproof foot bed extends up the shaft and has a handy loop to make sure your foot is properly seated in the boot. The construction of the tongue and lacing is sheer genius. Perfect for trudging through deep snow. The foot and arch support is what I expect from Ariat: no issues with plantar fasciitis, no matter how far you have to chase them through the fields. I'll confess I bought these boots to wear this winter with leggings around town and to work. They are very stylish, and will easily go from town to barn to saddle. If they come out with a similar spring/fall boot without the insulation, that's intended for knee-deep mud, I'm buying it!

Love these boots! I was a little worried about ordering. I'm a size 7 1/2 and was wondering whether or not to go up a size. Decided on my true size and they are perfect. I've worn them almost every day since I got them, and the one day I didn't I sure wished I had. They are comfortable and warm without being bulky. Have the perfect amount of traction for the stirrup or the icy pavement. They are rugged enough for trail riding and cool enough for the shopping trip to the city. Super quality.
