Bought these because I had previously purchased a pair of their hiking boots, was very pleased with them. Really liked the way these looked and felt, was looking forward to enjoying them for a long time. Unfortunately, both heels began to wear down at an alarming rate. After a few months, I regret that I won't be able to wear them much longer. Don't know what they changed, but strongly suggest they change back to what they were doing. Unless I hear of a change I'll never order a Dunham shoe again.

I wear a 4E width shoe, typically I try to find shoes that are more square in the front, but gave these a shot and I regret it. They're definitely not the advertised width because the shoe is so rounded, so you have the typical wide foot issue of your pinky toe rubbing against the next toe because the toe box closes up too soon to try and retain some shape. I gave these a while to see if they would break in better, and they took a long time to break in, somewhere along the line of 50 miles or so before they were even okay to wear, but they just have so many issues from a design and quality perspective. The material they used while nice that it's waterproof around the edges discolors as you wear them and it looks splotchy where I've now got greenish and really dark greenish colors all over, it's like they're dirty but they aren't. The tongue is too short, I have no idea why it's designed like this but the tongue doesn't even reach out of the top of the shoe at all, so if you don't really yank it up it will rub or fold weird. The laces are absolutely garbage and started to fray within days, I had to take a lighter to them to stop some of the splitting portions, just awful. I'm also really bummed by the way the back of the shoe is designed. Expect to either develop calluses, or if you're wearing short socks make sure to pull them up further than you usually would. I don't know if it's the material quality or what, but they rub and it doesn't feel great. It's better now that I've worn them in in. TLDR: Pros: * Waterproofing around the outside edge is nice * The fact they look a little more like a shoe instead of a box for people with wide feet is appreciated Cons: * Material feels cheap and low quality * Tongue is too short and rubs * Attempt to make them more shoe shaped meant they screwed up the toe box, prepare for pinky toe blistering and rubbing * Laces are absolute trash tier dollar store bad * Discoloration on the shoe no matter how much you take care of them is a bummer * Back of the shoe is uncomfortably designed and will rub your ankles * Shoe takes a long time to break in and overall comfort is only okay For the price these aren't worth it at all and I wouldn't recommend them. It's nice that they tried, but I don't feel like anyone actually wore these shoes before the approved the final design. Those of us with very wide feet have limited options, and I'd suggest avoiding these, they just aren't very good.

Unfortunately they do not fit properly. i like the shoes very much but for some reason they are just a little too narrow..

Very comfortable. Great support. Great for walking. Tight fit - needs a few days to break in. Could breathe more.

Nice shoe, especially for a guy with a six E shoe. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. I only wish that some shoes were made in America. It seems that the American made New Balances fit bettet

The fit was a skittle tight in the toe box area, but otherwise the shoe fit perfectly. After wearing the shoes for a day, things loosened up a bit. Otherwise, I would have rated them a 5

I was very disappointed as to the width- too narrow. Shoes felt much too tight, thus uncomfortable. I also purchased a pair of Dunham sneakers, some size and width-but they fit and are very comfortable! I don’t understand the difference in width, 6E should equal 6E! Will be returning these shoes SADLY!

I was looking for a pair of more substantial waterproof shoes for an upcoming trip than the usual fabric athletic shoe. These feel solid and substantial and fit well, I wear a size 15 Medium. If you are looking for a light, super flex shoe that feels like nothing on your feet, this is not the shoe for you. In my case, this is a shoe for a big guy who wants support and comfort.

A good fitting shoe. This is my second pare and looking to getting the same kind of service as the last.

The top arch of my foot is high and the bottom arch of my foot also high. I'm difficult to fit. With a 4E I'll often see my socks in the top eyelets where the laces go. This shoe comes close to showing the socks in the eyelets, but it got the job done. Thank you, Durham. This shoe did very well, although I've had better from New Balance in the past. Alas, NB seems to no longer make shoes sized for me. If you have a high bottom arch, you're used to needing inserts. (I use the Keen high arch inserts; red, black, and yellow.) These shoes worked well with my inserts. Favorite thing about these shoes is the tread, which is easy to clean and doesn't squeak much on hard floors. The leather looks like leather; it's not finished to the point of appearing plastic. It's a rugged appearing shoe, looks good with blue jeans. I've worn these for a week and I'm glad I bought them.

I needed a pair of waterproof walking shoes for a new delivery job. I already own a pair of waterproof Dunham Chukkas which I really like, but they're too heavy for constant walking. So I took a chance on these. Expensive but worth it. Due to my poor planning, I didn't have a chance to break them in first but that didn't matter as they were somewhat stiff but still comfortable right out of the box. My size, 12 4E, is consistent with both my Chukkas and these Stephens, one advantage to sticking to a brand you know and like but unfortunately doesn't always work out. Of course, the true test is how well they hold up. I hope I can get at least a year out of them.

I have other Dunham shoes, as I have wide feet. I ordered these in my usual 8 4E, but found them too narrow in the toe box especially. Thanks to Zappos' free return policy, I exchanged for 8 6E, which is perfect. I always have trouble fitting my feet with shoes, so Zappos makes it easier for me.

I use these primarily for work, needing to look decent in a tough environment. These are perfect. Had trouble with soles of similar types of shoes from other manufacturers separating and tearing on rough surfaces like sharp stair treads, etc. The sole is on this shoe is solid and I do not anticipate any problems with it. The sole was a little slick/rigid at first, but it has softened with wear over a short break in. Rainy and wet conditions are not an issue with these, water beads off and height is good for deep puddles. Fit was a little stiff at first which shows quality, not flimsy, but it is forming to my foot shape and over time it should "fit like a glove". I will probably replace the shoelaces with a round type of lace instead of the flat type provided, just my preference.

I usually wear a 10.5" and 3E, so a half size longer and a wider size works great for me. The shoes are a welcome departure from the black sneaker look I had before. They can be dressed up with slacks or dressed down with jeans or even shorts. The shoes are comfortable overall, but I had to put my own arch supports in them. (Shoes rarely have adequate support these days.)

The fit feels great although I must admit I always wait awhile to see if the sides come apart first and these are holding up beautifully. I bought these to avoid putting boots on when walking up and down the yard in wet grass which I do several times daily. These have held up great in that regard too still waterproof. These smelled like a fine leather jacket when I bought them I am guessing this company makes top notch boots too. I am very pleased and plan on buying another pair if they still make them down the road. P.S. I put no arch support because I am completely flat footed 6e width so I do not have a clue on arch support unless it is too much then it can hurt lol.

After trying many different waterproof shoes (thank you Zappos for free returns!) I chose these shoes. They are true to size, I bought 10EEEE, and they are comfortable to wear. They fit my orthotics and the toe box is roomy even though they narrow a bit towards the end of the shoes. As others have noted they can feel a little hot after a long day of wear as they are leather uppers and waterproof, but not uncomfortably so. One thing I am noticing is after I wear them for awhile the laces seem to loosen and I need to retie them / snug them up again. Not a deal breaker just an FYI. Bought these for an overseas trip where it's going to be Fall temperatures, possible rain and I want warm, dry feet. I think these will fit the bill.

Size and width are as advertised. They are very comfortable.

The fit was and is great, the shoe appears to be well built and sturdy. The look is so good I am buying another pair right now.

These shoes appear to be what I've been looking for. Attractive appearance with much darker brown than shown in the images and sturdy yet comfortable design. The only issue is that the hardware used to bind the upper and lower body at the join (just at either side of the widest part of your foot) is very thick and pokes the top of your feet. For that reason I'll order a size wider and that should do the trick.

As usual the shoes arrived very promptly, and well packaged. I have worn them a few days and they are breaking in nicely. They are everything I expected with one exception, the color does not match the pics shown on the website, thus 4 stars instead of 5 for style. when I saw them first hand the color was darker (significantly so) than that shown on the website. This was not a deal breaker but those who order these in brown should be aware of this difference. To be more specific, the color shown is what I would call a tan brown, the shoes I received were more of a burgundy brown. All in all I once again had a very satisfactory transaction ordering from Zappos

These shoes felt "broken in" as soon as I put them on .The laces were kinda dull flat brown ,so I changed them.These are the most expensive shoes I have ever purchased, and the most comfortable. The Zappos sales team was THE ABSOLUTE BEST every time I called

I had surgery on both feet over a year ago and have had a hard time finding shoes that were comfortable enough for a lot of walking...I’ve been doing 10,000+ steps/day in these and have experienced very little discomfort as I have in other shoes...highly recommended!
