OMG,it has too much red. What a crazy hot red. All in all, the shoe is great. Wondering if I should just trade it in for another color when it becomes available.
I have a Morton's Neuroma, and it is very difficult to fit into any closed shoes, but my family is going on vacation and I need a comfortable sneaker for a lot of walking, including hiking. I am trying to decide between a Merrill hiking shoe and these Altra sneakers. This shoe is wide enough to put in any cushiony insoles or orthotics. I highly recommend them. This sneaker has room for the toes to splay very nicely.

I really love these shoes. The bottom of my right foot has very little padding in it due to an accident. It makes walking very painful if I don't put insoles in my shoes. These shoes were wonderful out of the box. I feel like I am walking on a cloud. The shoe does run just a tad short so I had to go up half a size. Also, if you aren't use to a zero-drop shoe, it does take a little while to get use to it. I walk 3.5 miles every day and these have been great shoes. Now I am thinking about buying their mid-top boot.

Per other reviews, I ordered this shoe a full size larger than normal and that was wise. Toe box is roomy--this is a perfect shoe for someone with wider feet and that's the reason I found them to begin with so they may feel a bit too wide for someone with a narrow or even normal B foot. Would not recommend wearing this shoe "full time" right out of the gate. I had some soreness initially. Really do like these shoes and like Altra in general.

I tried 6 different Altra models. Lone Peak 3 is the winner. Just enough arch support for my flat feet and slight pronation. The big reason these work is that the toebox is tall enough to accommodate my hammer toe. Most of the others rubbed it right out of the box. The right heel slips a little but is fixable with loop lacing. I wear 9-9.5 in street shoes, and 10.5
In most running shoes. Altra 10.5 fit perfectly. Oh I'm 66, former runner, terrible knees.

Great shoe. Allows room for toes and fantastic traction on technical trails. Cushion is perfect. The best shoe I've ever run in.

These are working out great so far for my particular foot pain. Suffering from heel pain with most all shoes recently, this "0 drop" design takes a lot of pressure off my heel. The toe box is quite wide and square but does not feel sloppy. I will buy another pair. They are what I expected for the price so far. I've had them about 3 weeks. They look great too. I did order a 1/2 size smaller. They fit perfect.

I walked the 500 mile Camino De Santiago and lost 8 toenails. I walked 100 miles on the North Country Trail and lost 3 toenails. THEN. Found these shoes. If only I had them before! I'm constantly wiggling my toes in them because I'm so delighted to have the space to do so! My toes are finally very, very happy. But what's amazing is that my heel is secure and not sliding around like when I had tried bigger shoes before. These are the best shoes ever. I just ordered a second pair and plan to order the black ones for my "dress shoes ". Love these! Don't be shy about ordering a size up. The reviews were right and I ordered up too. I wear a 7.5 regular shoe and have always ordered the half size up 8.0 in a running or hiking shoe. Got the 8.5 and its perfect.

These shoes are great. I have a high arch with metatarsal pain and also plantar fasciitis. The wide toe box is so comfortable for the ball of foot area (NO squeezing!) and the zero degree platform helps to take the pressure off of the front of my foot. The soft cushioning feels great. I wear custom orthotics which fit well in the shoe; so the shoe's own arch support doesn't matter to me. Fun colors too!

I have been a hiker for most of my life, but comfortable hiking shoes have become an increasing problem as I have grown older. I have hiked in my new Lone Peak 3s twice now and no blisters, no hot spots and complete comfort. The toe bed is wonderfully wide. The heal is a bit loose for me, but is not problematic. I realized, when I was getting ready for bed in Yosemite last week, I was still wearing my Lone Peak's ...long after the day's hike. My usual behavior is to take off my hikers and put on my camp shoes immediately after returning from a hike. I could not be happier with these shoes.

Love this shoe! Typically my feet tend to burn after running a few miles but these felt supportive and comfortable throughout my entire 5 mile run.

I loved the previous Lone Peaks (2.5), but the 3.0s are even better. The traction on the shoe rivaled my husband's hiking boots when we were doing some tedious climbing yesterday. Everyone else's feet hurt, but not mine. These, along with my Superiors, are my favorite trail runners. If you're looking for a smooth trail ride, these are for you!

This is hands down the best pair of running shoes I've owned. They have really helped with extra support in my arches that has relieved a lot of knee pain (ongoing problem for years). I also noticed these shoes lasted for so many more miles than previous brands I've tried. Just breaking in my second pair!

Obsessed with this shoe. Before Altra I wasn't able to run because of an injury to my sesamoid that made putting any pressure on my toe very painful. Because of the balanced drop on this shoe, I'm now able to run again and I appreciate that the shoe is still lightweight.

Got a size bigger than I had expected. Zappos refunded me no problem. Great looking shoes. I tried to make the later size work but it didn't. Seemed to bother my feet w the zero drop. Will be donating shoes. Thanks for the seamless refund Zappos.

I was very excited to try these shoes and was really disappointed that when I received them it obvious they were a return and had been worn. They were already broken in and had several scuff marks on the insides of both shoes. For that reason alone I returned them.
However, the fit was everything Altra promised - nice wide toes box, lots of cushion, stylish?, and laces that didn't create pressure points. The heel was a little loose on me but I loved everything else. I bought a pair of Brooks that fit very similarly and ended up going with those.

I feel the shoes run a little big. I would order a half size down. And the toe box is quite roomy. Great arch support and heel cup fits well, just not a lot of forefoot cushioning as I was searching for.

of the 3 pairs of Altra shoes, this was the only one I kept. It does have a wide toe box, and all of them felt constrictive on the top of the shoe, this one less so. The soles really dig into the ground and will probably be great on trails, but I am a bit concerned about them catching on carpet, because it almost feels like I could fall or trip from the shoes or twist my knee (because the shoe will just stay where you plant it).
My feet run hot, and these feel like they will not help with that. I kept them because I have felt so desparate to get a pair of work out shoes that actually fit after Nike started making their Free line so narrow. I will not buy Altra again.

Wow. These feel like I'm wearing slippers! I would wear these as everyday shoes if I could. They are so incredibly comfortable. My only concern with these is that the sole is very flexible and there is limited arch support. I wouldn't feel comfortable running over rocks in these. They would be perfect for well maintained trails if I didn't have high arches. I'm considering getting a pair of regular Altra running shoes for everyday wear. The toe box is SO roomy and the bed of the shoe is very comfy.

Great all around shoe, has held up well for the first few runs, transitioning to Altra after running in Hoka's for a while, feeling of less cushioning and less of a "rocker" feel, but definitely sturdier and closer to the ground for rocky, steep trails.

I hike long-mile days in the N. Cascades and need a shoe with a wide toe box to keep my feet, ankles, and legs happy. This ended up being too narrow so I purchased the men's version and it had the right amount of width I was looking for.

My very first pair of Altras were the Lone Peak 1.5. I was so impressed with them that I vowed to stick with Altra for as long as possible. Which is saying something since they didn't hold up that well...but then, I've always been a little hard on shoes. The zero drop shoes help reduce pain in my knees and lower back, and the wide toe box was absolutely perfect. Even my narrow heel stayed in the shoe after the salesgirl showed me a new way to tie my laces. Last year, I bought the Intuition 3.5, and while I don't like them as much as my Lone Peak 1.5s, I don't really have any complaints. Still zero drop, still wide toe box and snug heel. A few weeks ago, I realized it was time for a new pair of shoes, and I decided to go back to the Lone Peaks. So I ordered them here on Zappos on a Friday and waited on tenterhooks all weekend for them to show up. Imagine my disappointment when I got them, put them on, and realized the wide toe box isn't so wide anymore. I'd seen some negative reviews stating the same, but was hoping it wouldn't ring true for me. But I'm sad to say that the insoles cut into the bottoms of my feet on the inside of my foot, up towards my big toe. It's a strange place for them to cut in...and makes it pretty obvious that Altra is no longer using the same last they used on previous styles. It's extremely disappointing. Now I have to send these back and wonder if I'll ever be able to buy Altra shoes again.

I had never tried the Altra shoe before so I bought these on price and looks alone. They are a zero drop shoe which means they have no rise to the heel. That didn't make a big difference in how it felt on my foot but there was a little booklet in the shoe box that detailed how to adapt to the shoe. The toe box is extra wide in order to allow your toes to splay out fully when your foot hits the ground. Sadly this makes the toe box look massive and it creases very weird across the forefoot when you walk. I felt this shoe also pushed my heel a bit out to the outside and I am definitely a neutral walker so that was strange as well. I loved the little foot pattern on the sole, and the colors were very pretty and subtle. It has a gaiter trap on the lower back of the heel right above the sole. I had to look it up, but evidently you can purchase a gaiter that goes over the laces and top of the shoe to keep debris out of your shoe on trails. I will be returning this shoe due to the odd and deep creasing from the extra wide toe box, but I would recommend it to someone looking for more room for your toes in a running shoe.
