These are great for dress or just wearing with jeans. Very comfortable and the side zipper is nice as well. Look much more expensive then they are.

Nice boot just alittle to dresses for me

Whoever designed this model understands the human foot, especially wide fitment issues. As suggested by other reviewers I went half a size down to 10 in the widest-available 3E, and it fit like a glove right out of the box. If it came in 5E like other Florsheim models I probably could have gone a whole size down. Sleek, subtle styling doesn't really hit you until you cross your legs and the rising cuff reveals that you're wearing a boot, betraying a wild streak in an otherwise plain, utterly serious shoe: sort of a "gotcha" moment for the unsuspecting observer. A whimsical but also incredibly comfortable design; for me, an instant all-time favorite. As for durability, I guess time will tell. In the meantime, I couldn't be happier.

This was my first purchase with Zappos. So I was somewhat reluctant to order even after ordering the shoes. But friends who have ordered have had all positive results . The shoes came in quickly and much to my surprise they they fit perfectly and the inside was very comfortable. There is a small issue I had it was the zipper on the side. It would slightly "snag" as you tried to pull it up right at the stitching about 1/2 to 1 inch at the bottom. Perhaps once they are broken in properly this will no longer occur. But since they wear so well, I'm truly satisfied with them and definitely look forward to finding more shoes.

Due to reviews I ordered a size 11, as I normally wear 11.5 or UK45 in other brands I like (such as Mephisto). I've been looking for a solid black boot for a while and tried two popular Frye boots and hated them both. They looked fine but the rub was intolerable and fit was bad. So, ordered these to give them a shot before pulling the trigger on something significantly more expensive. The Frye boots were double the price of this one, and this is way, way superior. The flex is good, there are no rub spots I can feel, the inside is really soft. They are a little bit warm and are snug with a thick sock, but look and feel great.

Liked the boot very much but top was too small when fully zipped

After reading other reviews we ordered a full size smaller than he normally wears, perfect! My husband wanted them to wear with suit and tie in an office that gets cold in winter, he calls them his High Tops & after 2 wears, says they are comfortable and just right!

As I read on the reviews of this shoes, some of them said that the boot was bigger than its size; they were right. I went ahead and purchase o a 10 instead of my normal 10.5 and the 10 fit great. As of the rest is an excellent pair of shoes and very comfortable.

I originally ordered these in a 10 based upon my previous pair of boots (not of the same brand). They felt a bit loose, so I exchanged them for a 9.5 that fit PERFECTLY. I would not say that the sizing is incorrect; rather, I think that I made my decision off of a boot that was shaped/sized differently. I typically wear a size 10-10.5, depending on if it is a dress shoe, work boot, trainer, etc. That is why I listed these as "felt half size larger" since these 9.5's feel like what I would normally experience in a 10. The wide size fit my foot perfectly and there was enough room to accommodate a small, 7mm lift I have to wear under my heel. They are extremely comfortable with no extra support or insole needed. The padding underfoot and along the sides is excellent. I experienced almost no "break in period". I wore them starting on a Wednesday around the office and experienced no discomfort. I put several miles on at a show the following week without issue. They are perfect for my every day use. IF you are looking for a pair that has a slightly thinner line or looks "more dressy", Florsheim offers a nearly identical boot (available on Zappo's!) with a thinner sole and more tapered toe.

Very comfortable! They run a little big compared to others though, so order on the smaller side if any. I wear a 10 in most shoes, but sent the 10 back for 9.5. I'm going to keep the 9.5, but I honestly think a 9 may even work. I think they feel big because they are not a narrow/stiff shoe. They are spacious inside and the leather feels broke-in the first time you put them on. The insole adds to the comfort. I will never go back to traditional hard soled dress shoes after having these. My feet feel wonderful.

Love them

These are a great boot but they fit a bit larger (in my experience) than the other reviews say. I wear a 9.5 in sneakers and have quite a wide foot. I like that these were said to have been wide (and they were perfect but not overly wide) but the size 9 was still too large. I saw reviews saying they ran half size large and I typically wear a 9 in boots and dress shoes, but even that was too large. Consider a full size down if your feet aren’t super wide.
