Bonus! you can turn this into a backpack, though I'm not sure Sherpani intended this, because it's not mentioned in any descriptions. It has to be done with the bag in "unflapped" position. Take the long strap entirely off. Clip it to the lowest loop on one side of the bag. Feed the other end of the long strap through the tiny loop near the main zipper, and then bring it down and clip it to the lowest loop on the other side of the bag. Voila! Admittedly this is not super comfy for long-term wear but if you need it for an hour or two it should be fine. I also don't know how sturdy that little top loop actually is, but if it rips, I'll reinforce it. This will certainly make it handy for airports.

This is an interesting and well-thought-out bag, although I don't see the point of the lowest external side loops for clipping. It holds a lot of stuff in various compartments. For easy access I keep my phone and small card wallet in the front external zipper pocket, and my Epi-Pen, pill case and sunglasses in the back external zipper pocket. Everything else (reusable grocery bag, hearing aids in a VB Travel Pill Case, small notebook and pen, lipstick and mirror, packet of tissues) goes into the main section and is zipped shut. There's probably even room for a pair of folding ballet flats in there afterwards. Most of that main section stuff I don't access very often, so it's easy to ignore that and just deal with the two external zip pockets. I also don't bother latching the flap down, because it stays down well by itself. The strap is plenty long for this size 20W 5'6" girl. I got the Geo which I assumed would be black and white, but it's more like black and ivory, just a little off from stark white. That's okay, though; it still goes well with all the black and white in my wardrobe. Recommended! I take off one star for style just because I think the seatbelt straps look cheap.

In the past few weeks I've been trying a variety of bags for a wet weather replacement for a cloth bag I love (from a little company called Mishu). For a while I was carrying backpacks, but it's such a pain to get into them while walking about not to mention that in tight spaces they bumped folks. So now I've been on a mission for the ideal everyday sling or cross body bag, made of a material that resists water. I feel like Goldilocks, some bags are great but look a little more military/tactical than I really want. Others don't have a zipper and I lose things. This bag so far is the one bag to rule them all. Easy to load/unload, easy to carry, good in the rain, and not para-military. It carries a lot, but collapses down to a more sleek bag if I prefer to travel lighter. It's the Goldilocks bag. Love love love.

I've been using this bag for months and it remains my daily go to bag showing zero signs of wear and tear. Would highly recommend.

It's a very useful bag, lightweight but still sturdy. The foldover design is ideal for me -- easy to open it up to stash extras like sweaters and purchases, or squish it down and tuck into a larger laptop or travel bag. It's not sexy but it's nice looking even for work and does everything I need. I always carry it cross-body and the strap is comfortable. Some little nitpicks: Hardware's a little clunky and sometimes squeaks. (But the hardware is easy to use -- I don't agree it's complicated or hard to get in and out of.) The strap has picked up some pills from sweaters -- will be keeping an eye on that. The outer zip pockets are huge and go all the way down to the bottom seam. While that's better than small useless pockets, things get lost in there! If you get the off-white/black (Birch), give it a protective spray before using. Mine got visibly dirty within a week, picking up dirt and blue ink from my jeans. After washing (took two tries, had to get more aggressive the second time) it's clean again and I've sprayed it to keep that from happening again.

This purse is awesome. It has just the right pockets and sizes and placement. Now to address the measurements vs how bag looks. The bag is 15” tall when not folded and it is 12” wide. Measurements are stated backwards in description. I got the color called surf and its a very pretty greenish blue. Hope this helps all the shoppers.

But really.... This is the bag I've been looking for FOREVER! the strap is long enough, the pockets make sense, and I'm thrilled with this purchase. 11/10!

Love this bag! It is so lightweight and has may pockets to keep all of your things organized! I have it in the birch color (black/white). It comes with a long strap to make it into a cross body which is a bonus!

This is just an easy purse to have around. It fits tons of stuff. It has great compartments with zippers and even has a little key chain holder in the front to keep your keys from falling to the bottom of your bag. I especially like that you can wear it as a cross body or over your shoulder.

Versatile, chic and simple. Good for work, yoga or night out. Tons of places to put things! Sherpani bags are awesome!

Fabulous bag! SO many options! There are so many looks to it it's like several bags in one! It is one of my favorite bags to runnning out with the kids or running out on the town shopping with friends. Carries my laptop, water bottle and everything else I need to bring along. Great find!

terrific bag from a bag expert. (just have lots). i took this to new york city and it was perfect city bag. good organization and not overly big with caves for organization.

Easy to use bag. I'm very happy with this purchase. Got compliments during the first hour of using it. Pros: Black/Grey has a nice graphite color with a slight sheen for style. Two inside open pockets for phone, etc. and one inside zippered pocket. On either side are wide zippered pockets. Can fit a tablet and my 13"macbook. There are multiple places to buckle the strap depending on whether you want a tote or a half tote size. Zippers work well, not chintzy. Cons: I've owned other Sherpani bags and have never been fond of the hardware they use. On this bag they managed to tone down the clunkiness and also made the utilitarian strap look less like their usual airplane seatbelt straps. I'm also a little concerned about the hardiness of the fabric and not sure how it will withstand getting wet or if it will be easily cleanable. I like it enough that I will just have to be careful. Lastly, a key fob inside would be nice but not a deal breaker.

I have found this bag to be very versatile. I do not agree with the reviewer who found it difficult to use on vacation. I have enjoyed traveling with this bag- I can use it as a larger tote for shopping or taking things to the pool and then it becomes a perfect purse to go out to eat. Very happy with the purchase.

Hands down this is my favorite bag of all time. It is so versatile, and I cannot wait to try it as a backpack as described in previous review. On the smallest setting I am able to carry all my personal items plus a book and/or water bottle. I can't say enough great things about this bag. It is a must have!

I got this bag from a friend of my mine. She always has the greatest bags and of course they are usually from Sherpani. This is bag doesn’t disappoint. It’s fun and practical. I use it everyday and for going out. I like that you can use it as a handbag, over the shoulder or across the body. It fits everything I need and then some. This bag is perfect for anyone!

If you're thinking about grabbing this bag, do! I love how practical but also beautiful the bag is. There's plenty of room but the option to fold over makes it more compact. Lightweight material. Several areas for storage - pockets and zippers. I love using this as a diaper bag but also for a night going out. Love how versatile it is.

I love this bag - It has been really versatile for me. I like that I can use it as a purse (folded over) or a bag which then has a deeper pocket. You don't have to latch it as another reader stated - I found it very easy to use and is a great bag overall. Looks great and holds just the right amount for a day trip.

I have this bag in "Ash" which is a great neutral color. The other side of the bag is black which is awesome because it's like owning two bags in one. The size is big enough for all of my stuff without being overwhelming. The fold over feature is great if you feel like making the purse a little smaller and give it a different look. I especially like the exterior zippered pockets on both sides. Cute and versatile bag!

Pros: Beautiful color, very well-made, Expandable, and that you can either use it in its small size Where the top is folded over, or you can unfold it and adjust the buckles and it becomes a much larger bag. Cons: I needed a bag that was not huge. So if this is in it’s folded-over configuration, There is really only the one zippered pocket that you can access. In order to access any other compartments, you have to unfold the whole thing. Also, it’s kind of a big bag. Bigger than a normal purse I would carry to go shopping. I think this is more for if you’re traveling, and need an adjustable travel purse.

This is a good quality bag with a very simple sleek style. The material is not as soft as I'd like for something made of fabric. It's also bigger than I had expected. I wish it had more pockets for organization. In the end, I am returning this since it is not what I'm looking for. However, I would recommend it if you are looking for a medium sized sturdy bag for travel or everyday use.

I really liked the way this bag looked on the screen, but in person it was a disappointment. It was okay when empty, but once I filled it with my things, it was shapeless and lumpy. Also, if you don't fasten the clips on the sides, they rattle around quite noisily. After some deliberation, I've decided to return this bag because it just doesn't live up to the quality of other Sherpani products.

I bought this to hopefully take on vacation, but it just didn't work for me. It looked very cute online, but was not very functional one I got it. My biggest issue was that when you folded the top of the bag over (like it shows in the pictures) you latch it together. This makes it extremely hard to get something out of the bag; you have to unhook everything to get in and then hook it all back together.
