I think this is an excellent jacket. I personally love down wear, but do not like the look of it as a sole jacket. This is why I thought this jacket was perfect, down on only the inside. It fits perfectly and its sleeves are just the right size for me. Up until recent I hadn't had a winter coat because I was just too lazy to find one, but this is great. Windproof, almost fully waterproof, and snowproof. I rate 8/8 gr8.

Awesome jacket for my 14 yr old son who's 5'6 and about 120lbs. Had gotten a Medium size and surprisingly it was a bit big, ended up going with the small size fitting him perfectly. Comfortable and the hoodie definitely a big plus not making it feel uncomfortable when not wearing. What cold??

Great for casual wear (I'm in northern Canada; probably would work till -30C, past that something heavier would be better like down/goretex.
Best part, took snowboarding twice; once in mountains with wind, and 2nd in foothills- less wind warmer conditions. Both occasions used a merino wool base layer and felt warm and dry both times. (compliments to the base layer as well, for sure!!)
Impressed so far - it's awesome being able to use it for winter sports and everyday wear.

I was looking for an all-purpose jacket in-between a light shell jacket and a winter coat. I did a lot of shopping around and was very pleased to find this jacket since it offered everything that I was looking for. It is not bulky, and it is light and easy to maneuver in. Even in the winter I can usually layer up with with a down vest and be very comfortable. The four zippered front pockets offer plenty of space for gloves, hat, phone etc.. An inside pocket might have been nice, but the ample front pockets make up for it. The zipper could be more substantial, but I think as long as I am careful I should get many years out of it. I would definitely check this jacket out if you are looking for a comfortable jacket for cooler weather.

Got the black one for myself and white womens one for my girlfriend to go skiing in. It's very stylish and alot warmer than i thought it would be. I went out skiing with the jacket + thermal + tshirt + sweater, and within an hour i was down to the jacket and t-shirt only. was 30 outside sunny. If your active, you don't need layers with this jacket unless it's really really cold out. Great wind protection as well.

I use this product for the cold, windy, snowy Winter season. It's comfortable and am very happy with my purchase. This is my first Northface product and I plan to get more.

I think this is a great winter jacket for days that are around 30-50 degrees. It offers enough warmth and wind proofing to make it an alternative to a heavier winter coat.

I purchased this as a gift for my husband. I was looking for a lightweight coat that does not restrict movement. He is 6'1" and 250 lbs. The coat fits perfect. The sleeves are slightly too short, but otherwise everything else is great. He loves it! I have the woman's version and it is the same for me as well. It's very lightweight, but we wore our coats in the low 20s and with winds up to 25mph, we couldn't feel a thing where the coat covered. Definitely worth the money!! Keeps us warm, protected from the wind, and not bulky at all! I will purchase all my future coats from North Face!!

I live in Southern California, where anything under 50 degrees we consider winter weather. When it came time for me to visit my Fiancs family in Ohio, I knew I needed a coat that would withstand the 14 degree weather. This jacket definitely delivered! I did layer with a vest and long sleeve shirt and never felt cold

Jacket blocks wind very well. Insulation keeps you warm. Fit is good, and it's not too puffy looking when wearing. Very comfortable.

Great ski jacket for those days when you want a bit more than a shell. Really nice how the collar can zip right up to your chin if you want. Wish the zipper pulls were bigger-tough to use with gloves on. Also wish they had a tab on the breast pocket to attach a ski pass (I solved that problem by inserting a small split ring through the zipper pull).

I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas. As soon as I saw the jacket, I knew it was the perfect gift: warm and thick sturdy fabric! The jacket keeps him really warm (especially in New England winters!) and he loves it. He is about 6'1-6'2 and wears a size L, which fits him. Price was not an issue for this jacket since the quality is top notch, and I am willing to pay for a product like this.

I was worried that without a wind cover for the zipper that it wouldn't be very warm. But it turns out that it's one of the warmest coats I've ever owned. It looks great. And is very water resistant (Seattle tested).

I bought this for my boyfriend to wear while skiing. The jacket fits to true size. The color combo of orange and dark gray goes well together. It's thin and not bulky yet warm.
