Doesn't fit correctly. The sleeves are too long and the collar is too high. I'm 6'4" and the large had sleeves that covered most of my hand. The old version of this jacket fit perfectly, but I had to return this one.

We have always loved North Face apparel. I just bought our son the Apex Bionic MEN'S APEX BIONIC 2 JACKET - UPDATED DESIGN in size medium, in navy blue. He is in shape and has a flat stomach. This jacket fits like it is made for someone who is large in the middle. I am disappointed with the chunky sizing around the midsection. It is definitely cut larger in the waist than his previous North Face Bionic jacket. The previous design made him look so nice and showed off his appearance. The original version looked very polished for business casual. This Bionic 2 is not as stylish because they made it for people that have a gut. Disappointing as it was a Christmas gift of something he really needed and has to take it out of town right away. So we will not be able to exchange or return it. North Face is supposed to be for athletic people so I'm not sure why they did this. I checked to see if slim fit is offered but there is no slim fit. Hopefully our tailor will take care of this situation next summer. That adds substantially to the cost though. I hope it looks better than we first thought it did once it is worn.......hoping it looked so boxy due to how it was packaged....but worried.

Everything fits good except the sleeves are to long. I'm 5"11 or 6ft and have long arms so it's saying something when the sleeves cover my whole hands. I know I can't get a small because the torso will be to small length wise and wouldn't help when I have to bend over the slightest bit. I'm really disappointed

I would use it for everyday use but, will be returning it due to the sleeves being too long and wrist velcro straps not being on the new version.

This will be my third Apex but my 1st gen 2. The sleeves are too long and they completely removed the velcro cuffs and removed the embroider logo. I will look into other brands when buying my next soft shell jacket

Used to be my favorite jacket. It's my "go to" jacket (have 4) and now they don't have the velcro cuffs which completely blows

Good looking jacket but I am returning it, for two main reasons. Sleeves are too long and there are no cuffs or Velcro around the wrists allowing you to tighten it up. I'm 6 ft and athletic build but the sleeves hang down too long. My main issue is the fleece lined sleeves. Keeps you warm, BUT good luck getting the jacket off. I bought this for wearing to work with long sleeve button downs and getting the jacket off is quite difficult. You basically end up turning the sleeves inside out and then you are full of static. Not comfortable. It fits fine (except for the long sleeves) so it's the the right size. I'll be looking for a different NF jacket to replace it.

The color on these jackets might look nice but the material pretty uncomfortable to wear. It feels and moves like a poncho. On top of that the sleeves on both the medium and small are way too long for anyone who has normal length arms

No more embroidered logo on this jacket and many other new model jackets. I would buy multiple of this jacket, however, they've extracted every $1 out of it. Apex Bionic 1 was better .

Verified PurchaseReview for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I am 6'2", 180 lbs. This jacket in size men's medium tall is too large for me. The body has too much room in width and the sleeve length reaches the knuckles of both hands. It felt more like a size large tall. Although nicely constructed, it wasn't to my liking.

There's no Velcro on the sleeves so they're just way too long and can't be adjusted. Returning

Awful redesign. I had excellent experiences with the previous/classic Apex: This new one's collar is gigantic and rubs your face raw. Unless you cut the collar off or tape it down* it's unwearable. No hyperbole (*Yes, I actually had to tape it down on a trip last week). In guiding over 20 years, I've never owned a worse piece of equipment or experienced worse service. TNF wouldn't correct or take back (bought on sale, NOT a second). Definitely warning people off TNF now.

This is the third I've owned but the redesign has made it genuinely unwearable -- The collar is an inch higher than before, resulting in it constantly brushing the face. When zipped up, it's far too high and rubs the chin. Without a zipper garage, that high zipper snags whiskers. It's so uncomfortable I can't even give it away; Three friends/family had the same issue and gave it back. As a new and very nice looking jacket, that says a LOT.

Bought "2" jackets "his&hers" both black. There is a huge difference between the Men's and Women's jackets. "APEX BIONIC 2 JACKET " Weight of the jacket of the mens is lighter then the women's.The women's jacket feels heavier and solid what i would expected. I also feel the windwall in not in the men's jacket. The touch and the feel of the mens is not the same as the women's,

This is a huge step down from the previous version... this has been my faborite jacket for years. I've purchased multiple. The new version has a sloppy fit, feels cheap and no way NO embroidered logo. It looks and feels cheap . I went searching for the old version and bought 2.

I had been been contemplating on getting one of these jackets as everyone has one. Definitely not what I expected. I usually wear a large and that's what the true fit guide recommended. It feels more like an Extra large. Extremely bulky, sleeves are long yet sleeves are tight. The collar is always in your face and hard to get to stay down. Definitely not as warm as expected. This jacket only works as a layering piece.

I loved the previous model and actually have a few colors... it seems petty but the logo looks like it'll fall off at any point - just a little flemsy rubber logo. Bring back the stitched logo.

Very disappointed with purchase. I had previously purchased the Mens Apex Bionic 2 Hoodie and was not happy with the fit or colors being true to the picture. All the fit issues I'm about to explain were the same problems I had with the Men's Apex Bionic 2 Hoodie. So I returned my previous purchase and got the jacket featured above. The MEN'S APEX BIONIC 2 JACKET - UPDATED DESIGN had the following problems....The sleeves were too tight and too long. Not having the velcro on the wrists was a killer disappointment. The chest and waist fit was very box like and there was extra room rather then a nice comfortable fit. If you raise your arms the jackets bottom will come up above your belly button. I'm 5'10 about 185lbs and usually a large is my size. A large is what I ordered and the size and fit a was a huge disappointment. I was very much looking forward to getting a new North Face jacket, but after having to return 2 jackets due to poor fit I will be moving forward with requesting my money back rather than exchanging my second purchase to attempt to find a 3rd jacket.

What a shame. The non Velcro sleeves is the deal breaker for me. Sleeves are just too long for me. The Velcro design was so comfortable. I have been looking for the old design but have not been successful. I guess I will have to move to a different brand. Why the design change???? The best jacket on earth just took a step back. Losing my business wont hurt you I am sure. Some folks would wear a plastic bag if it had TNF logo on it.

This version is actually worse the the orig. 1. Bring back the adjustable velcro on the sleeves. 2. Bring back the real embroidery.

TNF ruined once of their most iconic jackets by removing such a simple thing as the velcro sleeves. This is the one thing that for people who actually use their jackets both in urban and outdoor settings, it matters greatly. I've hiked up the sleeves while cross country skiing, tightened them to make them windproof on High Sierra mountain tops, adjusted them to fit perfectly over a watch and sleeve when on a night on the town. Now TNF is no different than jackets from every other company with elastic cuffs that will ultimately stretch and ruin the fit and function. It's not a jacket I can depend on and will not buy another one. The rubber vs embroidered logo is not a big deal but it just shows TNF is trying to extract ever dollar out of the jacket now instead of making it a jacket worthy of your dollars.

I own several Apex Bionic jackets and vests. The Bionic 2 feels and looks cheap compared to the old ones. What happened to the Velcro wrist closers? No embroidered North Face logo. My first Bionic jacket and vest even had Apex embroidered on the bottom. Orvis makes a very similar jacket and vest that are much higher quality and are less expensive. I have been buying North Face gear for decades and have seen the quality drop dramatically over the past several years. I will be spending my gear dollars else where until the quality improves
