I returned the item and may purchase a bigger size. I wish the coat was longer.

I bought this as a gift but I felt the fabric was a little stiff for what I was looking for. Perhaps it was more suited for the elements and I didn't need that. The color (asphalt grey heather) was not my favorite. I liked grey but up close it sort of looked like a suit material with a tiny higher contrast pattern. Ended up getting a different jacket from TNF.

If you're above 6' and slim this isn't the jacket for you. Personally I like my cloths to fit snug, this coat is far more loose fitting/baggy than I thought

If I were you ordering this jacket, buy several of the jackets you like and then pick the one you want when you receive it. The colors of the jackets, zippers, and logo highlights are not at all what are actually on the jacket on the website (specifically the "High Rise/Heather Grey"). Otherwise, great jacket - definitely made for early Spring and Fall. The napoleon pocket is one of the coolest features and I wish NF would quit eliminating this on several of their best products.

This product was a great jackets for wind protection. For any skiers out there, this jacket is perfect for your trips. It is a hard fabric but also flexible enough for your body to be free

Seeing how strong the review are for this jacket on every single site you can buy it, you might think this is the greatest jacket ever made... I could help but feel so extremely underwhelmed with my purchase, tough...
The jacket feels paper thin and cheaply made, and even in mid-60s weather I feel almost no warmth or protection from it... The inside feels uncomfortable, where I expected a nice soft smooth texture that would have been pleasant to wear... I have another TNF jacket, a Gotham, and it's silky smooth and feel like heaven when you put it on... When I put this on I can't help but feel like it's no better than a cheap $10 coat... In fact, recently I was shopping at a low-cost retailer / grocery store and saw a clone of this jacket for a fraction of the price, and wished I'd bought that instead... Same exact design, same exterior texture, and it actually felt a little nicer inside... I expect it was a clone of this jacket by another country...
Aside from feeling cheaply made, it fits tight compared to other XL jackets, and runs very short... I looked at soft shell jackets for 6-8 months before picking this one, and have regretted buying it every day since.

I just got this jacket from the north face and it is extremely comfortable and warm but it has one flaw that completely ruins the jacket in my opinion. The collar does not fold down and is constantly hitting me in the chin . This can be seen in the pictures that the North Face has provided but I just did not pay much attention to it, assuming the collar would not always be right up at my face. If you don't mind the collar always being up then I would highly recommend it. Fits true to size chart. I am 5'9 and the mens small fits perfectly all around.

In brief, this jacket has an edge on windproof most suitable for daily use. Also, It shield you against short period of drizzle as a standby. However, this brand new jacket is no longer as well-designed as before. It replace the original nylon zipper to a polyester one simply to cut down the cost, which makes the collar hard to fold down, completely inconvenience when you are very hot. Besides, this strange zipper can not be fit with shell jacket. Hope they will change this odd design.

I like the style and the light weight. However the lining in the sleeves is rough and makes it difficult to slide your arm in when wearing a sweater of shirt. I am amazed that others do not find this a problem. Because of this I gave it an averge rating.

It keeps you warm, but it has a weird scent to it. I imagine it is because of the material it is made out of. I recommend washing warm instead of cold to help.

Wanted a replacement of my much beloved North Face APEX TKA Fleece Jacket /(where after 5 years of heavy usage the Zipper broke) - this one sounded good, but the fit it totally different and the material very stiff

The inside fabrics should be swapped. There's a clingy fleece fabric in the sleeves and a smoother sleek fabric in the front body portion. The sleeve fabric makes it difficult to insert and extract your clothed arms from the coat. If the sleeker chest and stomach fabric was in the sleeves and the soft fleece fabric was on the body the jacket would function better.

Jacket looks great, well made, but I cannot wear it because there is not enough room in the arms to comfortably wear even a thin long sleeved shirt under the jacket. Although I work out, my arms are very average in size. This was a L and chest and waist fit perfectly. The XL was way too big.

Have an old one that I like a lot but its tearing. This has to many little changes that don't work for me. One being a very small chest pocket.

I owned the Apex 2 for over 3 years and was my favorite jacket. Versatile for most conditions and dead situations. The new Apex 2 sleeves are too long and unable adjust and the fit just seems off. I miss my Apex Bionic and wished North Face hadn't messed with a good thing.

Not sure why tnf had to make a bionic 2 when the original was perfect. This one feels cheap and the sizing feels off for some reason. I'm also very disappointed that they took away the adjustable sleeve cuff. The sleeve doesn't taper and covers my hand. I wanted to live this jacket, but it doesn't compare to the original.

I am 5' 9 and 175 lbs, and I usually wear medium size clothing. I have noticed that for north face jackets they tend to be a little bigger, so this time I ordered a small and it was still a little big. I would have kept this jacket if the only problem was just that it was a little big, but after trying it on I realize the sleeves were very long.

If you need a jacket for warmth, this is not it! I only live in Louisiana so winters are not as cold as the north. You will freeze your butt off if it is below 50 degrees!

I have other Northern Face products and really like them. I shouldn't have bought this online without trying it on first. The craftsmanship is great, but it seems like a bad design. I love your products but this was a miss.

Walking, errands.
The original Bionic APEX I was fantastic! North Face is taking advantage of it's loyal customers like me by lowering its manufacturing standards. It is now producing shoddy junk!

Had this jacket for years and recently replaced it with a new one. After ordering I discovered there's no closures on the sleeves to tighten the cuff. In my opinion, this makes the new jacket a failure since the sleeves are super long but could've been just fine with a simple add. Jacket was returned.

I replaced my older one because I left it on a flight. The older versions was much better. Stitched North Face logo instead of Iron on and sleeves no longer have the velcro which I used all the time. You would expect the newer version to be somewhat upgrade not down graded. Disappointed.
