This is my first North Face coat and i love it! The only thing is i get cold easy so when its below 30, this isnt the coat to wear in my opinion. So maybe next year ill get a heavier north face one :).

I purchased this as a gift for my son-in-law. He is 6 ft 4 in tall. I ordered size XL. He loved it and it fit him everywhere perfectly with the exception of the length. He is in need of the size XLT. Now why is it, I CANNOT order a NorthFace Apex Bionic Jacket in an XLT thru NorthFace? The only way to get a NorthFace Apex Bionic Jacket in an XLT is to order it thru Cabela's. There is absolutely nothing marketably correct about that. And yes, I did order the XLT from Cabela's but I'm still amazed that a NorthFace XLT jacket cannot be purchased thru NorthFace. smh I still love the NorthFace products. They are very well made and last forever. Love me some NorthFace. :)

I got this as a gift. I am 6'1" and the size was xxl. The arm length was perfect but the torso was way too short. I had to return it and order an xxl tall. The tall is the perfect length, but the sleeves are now a tad long. The coat is super warm and is perfect over a long sleeve shirt in the 0 degree MN weather. I wore it on a hike when the temp was 15 and after 30 minutes I had the entire thing unzipped and was really sweating, this is a warm jacket. I don't know why the regular sizes were so short, I don't know who those would fit.

Not sure of the jacket yet. It is a gift for my son for Christmas. I did see the same coat at Gander Mountain today for the same price! Thought I was getting a deal since I ordered online but nope.

Well where do I start with this jacket? It looks really high end and I get compliments on it from several people. Quality appears to be almost perfect...no funny sewing or seams that are not up to par. I love north face products and everywher e sells them so go try your item on somewhere before you order it. I am five foot seven and 220#'s hockey player type body and I got an xlg because I want to wear it skiing so I need sufficient movement. I knocked one star off as it is not a jacket for sub 20 degree weather in my opinion.

Great quality jacket, but the one I received has grey on the back while the picture shown when I ordered had an all black back. Not worth the hassle to return though. Thanks!

Beautiful jacket and my son loves it. The price, however, is prohibitive. Would certainly buy additional products if there were loyalty incentives

Well, ordered offline. Extremely upset about the colors not matching up with what I ordered. I ordered this as a gift, and I got the biking red & black, suppose to be a pretty bright red. & it came as a dark burgundy. We had to take it back to the store and get a new color. But he says he loves it, very warm!

First the good news...the Apex Bionic looks great, is well made, and cuts through wind like a knife through butter. It repels water droplets from rain, too. And while it is definitely warm, it requires wearing at least 2 layers in order to stay warm under 40 degrees F. If I wear a t-shirt, shirt, wool sweater and the Apex Bionic, it will keep me warm at temperatures near freezing. Especially when windy. But the jacket itself is kind of thin and fits more snugly than most, so if you don't wear layers, the cold penetrates the material and makes you cold since your body is in direct contact with the jacket. For use in snow and other very cold climates, I would suggest looking at products closer to a down jacket etc. The jacket is definitely doing well what I bought it for, and IMO, it represents a very good value.

I have this jacket in several colors which I've bought from Dick's Sporting Goods, REI, eBay, etc.; I ordered one from thenorthface.com in Heather Gray and the armholes are far smaller than in the other ones I own.... On the whole this style fits perfectly and looks great, and is perfect for a variety of weather conditions! Love it.

I like the thickness (or lack thereof). However, the arms are too long and WAY too skinny to be comfortable while wearing a sweater.

I purchased this to add to one that I already own(for 12 years or so), as an extra. I haven't been able to try it out in cold weather. The sizing appears to be for a Junior High School model, in that it seems to be on the small side of the stated size (think Abercrombie or Hollister). The material seems a little thinner than the older version, and you can see where updates have been made to cut cost. I may try the next size up, but I'm afraid that would be too large.

This jacket is much lighter in weight than what I expected. This "new" design is a cheaper copy of the older, heavier weight design. Also, the logo's on this jacket are painted on, not embroidered like earlier versions, again, a cheaper feature. I thought mine was a fake when I first got it, but I saw one at a TNF store so I know it's legit. TNF has really cut corners on this jacket for the sake of increasing margin by keeping the price same as the older ones. I WOULD NOT recommend this jacket at the current price point. It's worth about 1/2 of what their charging.

This updated jacket replaced the last session defective version. I am always disappointed when a outdoor company takes out the technical aspects of a jacket and throws it out the window for fashion. In this case no longer having velcro cuffs on a windproof jacket. I guess this must be consider only an around town and not for the mountain. I am glad they didn't remove the zipper and use buttons down the front.

It was lighter than expected, not to be used during the coldest ny weather. But it is a good option for fall.

Fine jacket - nice material. Fits well. The logos are a bit much though - a bright one on the front, and another one on the back? Used to be less visible, now the logos are getting bigger and going on both sides. It's concerning. Wouldn't recommend this because of how big they are.

I weigh 228 pounds and stand 5' 11" tall. I wear extra large clothing and have for over 15 years. This jacket in extra large was very tight and uncomfortable. I returned it. I am reluctant to reorder XXL because I am worried about the sleeves being too long. The sleeves were perfect length on the one returned. This jacket is attractive and well made. THREE STARS ONLY AS A RESULT OF FIT.

I like this jacket, just wasn't exactly what I was looking for. Sleeve's were very big and material was a little uncomfortable.
