Took this jacktet to Mt. beirstadt in late May for 4 days.... temps ranged from 25 to 60.... 35 on summit day, 10 to 30mph wind. Great jacket, wind proof, sheds light precip, warm. I used this jacket all winter, from, peak baging in spring, hiking, to ice fishing, down to 25-35 deg with a single base layer and it was warm. (Bring a puffy for when you stop moving in colder temps, but you will remove it once you start moving again) TnF Windwall cuts windchill like a champ. Im 6'0" 165lbs, med fits like a glove, with plenty of room for base layers, and a mid fleese. Mid layers, ie puffy, shell, hoddies, will fit over nicely, and shell on top of that and still feels great. Harness fit over with minimal bunching.
Pro... great soft shell feel, the stretch is awesome, warm, windproof, nice style!! Water resistant, Harness works well with it.
Con.... DWR could be better. After some moderate use, in less than a year i have to reapply DWR. Not bad but the shoulder area where backpack sits wore off first (duh) but was hoping for a beter resistance from the DWR. Still sheds light precip, but wets out in light to moderate precip . Its not water proof not ment to be, but at first it did wick water away rather well!!!
Good work tnf i be getting g a hoodie version soon!!!

Very cool jacket but the sleeves are too long. Maybe Velcro wrist straps would have helped.

Fantastic utility from this jacket. It's lightweight and fashionable. Above 35 degree layered with a decent hoodie or fleece and it's great for going downtown for a coffee or running errands. Pretty much keeps all the wind out and its sleek design gives a nice simplified feel.

This is a great jacket. Doesn't hold up really well against very low temperatures. It's comfortable but runs a bit big. The sleeves are quite longer than expected.

I use my Apex Bionic jacket for everyday wear when the temperatures are in the upper 30's or higher. It is lightweight but warm and is a great wind stopper. It also can shed a light rain if needed.

I use the jacket for everyday use. Updated design is nice fit. I tried on medium in store that wasn't an updated fit and was too tight. I'm right in between a medium and a large but ended up ordering a large since the medium was too tight in store. The updated fit was too big and a medium fit me just right.

Good jacket, comfortable and nice looking. Runs just a tad too big, but not a huge issue.

This is my everyday Jacket and this is my 3rd one over almost 18 years. I have 2 notes on this new version of the Bionic Jacket. First, the sewn edges on the medial part of the sleeve cuffs are thick and are going to wear a hole fast in that spot just from simply resting your arms on surfaces, or working at the computer or a desk repetitively... I noticed that very quickly, and not happy with how fat those sewn edges are.
Second, just as the last Bionic Jacket had, there is an elastic knot in both front pockets so you can cinch the bottom waist part of the Jacket up. It is annoying every time you put your hands in the pockets!
These 2 things in my opinion are design flaws and can be addressed in the future. I knew that going in and still bought this jacket and love it. Deflects the rain nicely for the first 10 minutes or so, but it not "Rain Proof" so keep that in mind. Otherwise Lightweight, breathable, soft on the inside, sleek, fits well and washes easily. Im 6'4" so I opted for the tall version for the first time. Its 2" longer all the way around which is great for me!!

I originally went into REI looking for a 3n1 but due to my complaints/what I was looking for the helpful person there suggested just putting what I wanted together. Sure its a little strange at first but it works. I got the apex because I've had similar products from north face in the past and this hasn't disappointed. The weather has been in the teens here for the past week with windchills in the negatives and I've had no problems wearing just this. Combine this with the weatherproof/waterproof venture 2 and I started sweating immediately just being in the store.
This is superior in comfort especially when you're walking around a lot with enough bulky material as it is. I'd have no issues walking around with this 2 jacket combo in 20 degree to 15 degree weather. Anything lower than that with windchills in the negatives teens and 20s I'd add my North face synthetic wool underneath. Please be reminded that none of this would include and skin wear as well. I'm sure if I were to wear some of my under armor winter wear as well the puffy jacket wouldn't be needed.
Don't get me wrong, some of the 3n1s there were very nice! I want to buy one but I have every confidence in the world this combo will keep me warm AND dry at a reasonable price.

I bought this for my dad who is 5'9 and 187lbs. The "find your size" chart recommended an XL but it was way too big in the sleeves and across the body. He ended up returning it for a Large. NorthFace anything is great so it all worked out!

This is a great everyday jacket for temperatures 40F-60F. My favorite things about it are the style, and windproof shell. It can also stand up to rain fairly well, although I would not choose it in down pour conditions.
