This jacket is well-made, but the sleeves are too long.

Ordered a small but sleeves were way too long. I don't have short arms and am about 5'10"

I have purchased this in XS numerous times in the past and again just recently because I hate the new curvy fit of the women's apex bionic (I'm a 5'2" 115# female & new W apex fit doesn't accommodate layers). I was so excited to receive the jacket knowing it would have the straight fit both models used to have. I was super disappointed to notice that it no longer has the internal fleece cuff that it did years ago. Please bring back this much loved feature!! Overall, it is still a great jacket and has better functionality than the women's.

I returned this jacket for two reasons. I did not expect or like the plastic like feel of the outer shell. I also didn't like the lining which is a felt like material because it grabs your sleeves as you put it on. I am used to a lining the slides over your shirt / sweater etc and allows you to easily put it on and take it off.

The Black looks like a grayish black. I have other TNF black clothing that look more black. Original Apex Bionic have a stronger feel in quality. This one feels thin and cheap.

I believe it was for big and tall for. I wanted the exact jacket fitted. Price and quality was great. Just wrong fit.

Jacket fit perfectly except for sleeves that were excessively long

This is a well made, stylish jacket. However, for me, I wanted it for layering. Unfortunately, the medium doesn't fit snug enough, it's too boxy. The small jams into my underarm. So, even though it's flexible, I'm not positive about keeping it. If you want a comfortable mid-weight jacket, this might work for you.

I am 5'10" and weigh 200 lbs. I chose size large, and it is definitely too tight for me.

Item was way too big so I have sent it back I am Awaiting my return determine whether or not I purchase another one

Ended up returning the Jacket since the sleeves were too long.

I will reluctantly be returning the coat because although fit is perfect for my tall son, the collar is uncomfortablly high on him and he will not be able to wear it.

The jacket is nice in general -- warm and lightweight. The only issue is that the sleeves are way too long.

Bought the jacket for travel. The jacket looks great and feels great, but it's not warm at all. Was in normal, fall, 55-65 degree weather and was still shivering like crazy.

Great jacket but I'm 5'11 and ordered an XL but the sleeves are way too long, especially disappointing because the title said 'updated design', overall the fit seems a bit awkward.

Had one of these and it took a long time to wear it out, so not a bad value. This jacket can do some things others can't, but at the same time it poorly attempts to do some things it shouldn't. It takes about 20 minutes of solid rain to completely soak it through the untapped seams, which is very water repellent. Unfortunately waterproof membrane only allows the water to dry on one side at a time, so dry it off inside out. Having owned this thing, I decided this kind of jacket wasn't for me. It doesn't stretch as much as a regular fleece, and it isn't very warm without additional layers, but it takes a long time to dry out if/when it eventually gets wet through the un-taped seams. I think a stretchy fully waterproof shell that zips into a fleece when you need it, Or a more stretchy more breathable and better ventilated highly wind/water repellent shell that zips into a fleece and does not attempt to insulate and dries out super fast if it does get wet would hit the needs of this jackets users better. Bottom line they tried to make what people asked for, and used good construction practices, but this thing isn't really the right object.

I ordered this and ended up returning it. I have owned an original Apex Bionic jacket for over 10 years and the workmanship on the new version is not as good in my opinion. The old one is a bit stiffer and hangs better because of the stiffer material. Also, I would imagine the old one would be more wind resistant but, once again, just an opinion since I didn't use the one I returned. The fact they went from an embroidered logo to a stamped rubber one also makes it feel lower quality. And finally, as a personal preference, I prefer the old velcro tabbed cuffs. That being said, I managed to find 2 of the old versions at a Cabela's for 111.99 and bought both of them! Still love my TNF gear and will continue to buy it but not happy with this particular item's metamorphosis. Hopefully this is helpful!

I returned the jacket since the sleeves were way too long in XL and XXL. It should be noted that I'm 6'3 as well. Also, it made an annoying sounds. Maybe it needed to be broken in.

I wear this jacket to college most days because it's good for almost every weather condition except for average or heavy rain. It says it's soft-shell is water-resistant but the stitching for "The North Face" logo on the front and back soak in water and get your shirt underneath soaking wet. For a product of this price, I would expect that to not happen.

I love the stylish look of this jacket. Good in the rain. The material is a bit stiff when it comes to movement. I have a broad chest so I felt a bit of restriction when actively moving around while wearing it. Good with layers but without I felt a breeze enter the bottom

I returned the item and may purchase a bigger size. I wish the coat was longer.

I bought this as a gift but I felt the fabric was a little stiff for what I was looking for. Perhaps it was more suited for the elements and I didn't need that. The color (asphalt grey heather) was not my favorite. I liked grey but up close it sort of looked like a suit material with a tiny higher contrast pattern. Ended up getting a different jacket from TNF.

If you're above 6' and slim this isn't the jacket for you. Personally I like my cloths to fit snug, this coat is far more loose fitting/baggy than I thought

If I were you ordering this jacket, buy several of the jackets you like and then pick the one you want when you receive it. The colors of the jackets, zippers, and logo highlights are not at all what are actually on the jacket on the website (specifically the "High Rise/Heather Grey"). Otherwise, great jacket - definitely made for early Spring and Fall. The napoleon pocket is one of the coolest features and I wish NF would quit eliminating this on several of their best products.
