For frigid cold days and rainy days it's awesome

I bought this for my husband to replace an old Northface. We love the options of the triclimate.

The inner jacket is perfect for when its a little chilly outside and not raining. If it does start to rain, it takes less than a minute to put outer raincoat on. The outer jacket by itself does not provide any warmth. It would be if the jacket was a little warmer but because its not too tight, its easy to wear an extra layer or two beneath the jacket. Overall - Its a very good jacket for the money.

My 19 year old son loves this jacket on campus because it looks stylish. He finds the jacket versatile and can wear it on most cool days especially the wet ones.

4/5 stars as the jacket was claimed to be "WARMEST" on the website specifications, but it is more realistically "WARM" at most. While the fit and feel of the jacket is snug, this jacket in itself would perform well at temperatures upto 10 degrees C. Anything less, and you're going to start feeling the uncomfortable or cold despite the inner (thin) fleece layer. A storm flap over the zipper would inspire more confidence, although the zipper is claimed to be water-proof and keeps out the wind flawlessly. The jacket itself seems heavy-duty enough to withstand a torrential downpour. The snaps holding the inner fleece layer to the jacket tend to pop open when taking off the jacket especially if you've got additional layers inside. Speaking of layers, for the size I got, it would be possible to only wear a light jacket inside, beyond which things would get stuffy fast. The hood is not insulated, although the hood itself will provide excellent protection against rain. So in conclusion, it's a great choice if the minimum temperatures you'd expect are going to be single digits Centigrade.

Great jacket for fall and spring. Bought for my husband to use as a winter coat but won't cut it for below zero temps in my opinion. Thought it would be warmer as its a tri climate, the inside jacket is warm but not quite insulated enough for super cold weather. Will take the advice of other reviewers who said it is great down to -30 with a sweatshirt underneath! Would definetly purchase again.

Absolutely love this jacket! Keeps me warm on colder days and dry on wet days (removable fleece is the BEST!!) Was recommended this style and could not be more pleased.

Usable in any condition found in the Puget Sound region, long sleeve liner good for those semi cool days, outjacket for wind and/or rain, and all together for those very chilly days. The North Face brand doesn't fail on this all season Jacket.

I FOLLOWED THE NAME. WHEN I GOT THE JACKET I COULD SEE THE PURPOSE OF THIS JACKET. MAY BE A BIT MUCH FOR THE SOUTH, BUT IT DOES RAIN HERE AND WINTER RAIN IS NASTY. THIS LOOKS LIKE A VERY NICE CHILLY OUTSIDE-RAINY ALL DAY-BUT I GOTTA GO OUTSIDE ANYWAY JACKET. I TRIED IT ON AND I FEEL READY FOR THOSE DAYS. I WILL SHOP FOR MORE NORTH FACE NO DOUBT!!

Excellent jacket for all around use and totally waterproof

It's really good

I have trouble finding a coat with a long enough sleeve, that is warm without being overly heavy, this coat covers it all. I like the style, the fit, and mostly the light weight warmth that it provides.

When I revived the jacked I was surprised how much warmer it was than it looked online. I would say light heavy duty.

I am a 185 lb guy. The size medium fits we well. The large is too big.
