The jacket is comfortable, a snug fit with the liner but keeps you warmer with it.

When putting on coat. I wish it had better sleeves for the inside liner coat. I always have to pull them back in place. the simple snap does not do the trick to help keep it from getting out of the outside coat shell.

I am a bigger guy (6'1' 280lbs) and the XXL coat fits me perfectly. I was afraid that the inner fleece would be too snug but it fits great and is really comfortable. The outer layer is not only waterproof, but is great on windy days too. Highly recommend this coat.

I use this jacket just about everywhere, work, biking, boating, running. It is casual and sporty enough for athletic activities, but tailored enough for work too.
Love the versatility of this jacket!

In Germany now purchased specifically for this trip and very glad i chose this jacket for the weather here is cold and rainy and very windy. So for the TRI Climate name it live up to the name.

I ordered this jacket because I'm a bigger girl and do not fit into the woman's plus sizes. I got the 3xl in January and have already sent it back. I had spilled coffee on the jacket (I had only worn it less than a handful of times) and had to throw it in the washer. I followed the instructions to the T. Somehow, the zipper melted (I washed in cold water) and made a hole in the shell. I called Northface customer service to see what could be done. I was aware of the Lifetime warranty but not too familiar. The representative was amazing and sent me a label within 2 minutes so that I could send my coat back. I sent it back and once the coat was received, my new coat was shipped overnight. I wish all companies were like this.
As for the fit, it is quite comfortable. Very lightweight and perfect for the weird weather we are having in Chester County, PA. (literally today is 72 degrees and Friday we are expecting snow) The sleeves and the length of the coat is a little on the long side, but again this coat is made for a man. I think it is for someone with height. I lack in that department.
As a result, I would highly, highly recommend any Northface jacket as well as this one. You've made a lifetime customer out of me.

This was originally a coat for my son. It seemed everyone in the family me included would barrow it from him. It's warm light weight and weatherproof. His older sister wore it to the Patriot's victory parade in Boston and lost it. Yup we got another one but his sister is not allowed to touch it.

This jacket works true to its name, and looks good. I've gotten compliments o how nice a windbreaker it is. The sweater jacket inside is very confortable and warm. If you choose to wear the entire jacket assembled, you won't have trouble with wind or rain

Needed a good travel jacket that will work in cold as well as humid rainy conditions. When I got the jacket I was surprised how thin it was. I was expecting a larger jacket. However after trying it on it's very comfortable. the strengths of this jacket is the removable inner liner so 1 jacket will server you in a large variety of conditions, Is it a COLD weather jacket? no. I would not go to Alaska in this jacket in winter, I expect the main strength of this jacket is temps from 25 degrees F to a summer rain jacket (with liner removed) that is easily packed away when not needed. If your going out in 30 degree weather (football game), you might get cold after while. think of it as a all around travel jacket. No single jacket is perfect for skiing and also for humid rain, so don't try to find a one size fits all conditions jacket. However this jacket is perfect for my travel needs. So think of it as a nice travel jacket but if you want warmth for snow skiing, look elsewhere.
Using the size chart on the web site worked perfectly. I was honest on my weight, height, and body type and the jacket is a perfect fit.

I'm a salesman that spends a lot of time outside. This coat is great with wind and light rain. The versatility of being able to use just the outer shell comes in handy when it's cold in the morning and warm in the afternoon.

The jacket is light and comfortable. I bought it in another color. The inner jacket works best with shirts not sweaters but the jacket keeps you warm.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)

I bought this for my slender framed, 6'2" husband who wears a L in most everything as far as shirts, sweatshirts/fleece, and jackets go. It was the right length, but it was definitely too tight in the arms (at the time he was wearing a button down underneath, so nothing thick). It might be good to size up, this one has to go back for us. I think with the right fit this would be a great jacket.

I bought this hoping it would serve me during this winters here in United Kingdom, but in temperatures below five to seven degree celsius the jacket is useless, it does not protect you one bit and you just freeze up. I have had to add another fleece jacket underneath so as to keep warm on those winter mornings which increases weight. If this is the situation in the beginning of the winters I cannot imagine the situation will be in the peak. Do not waste your money on this flimsy jacket.

As someone who "runs hot," I love the removable fleece under layer. The outer layer does a great job of keeping me dry during those late night, stormy walks with my dog. HOWEVER, my zipper gets stuck on the jacket lining every single time I zip up, resulting in a battle to remove the jacket. Half the time, I slip the jacket over my head like a sweatshirt. Other times, I try to fight through the obstruction. Finally, the zipper fought back and tore a hole through the lining. And by finally, I mean roughly the tenth wear. The zipper design is clearly defective, and I'm not the only one to experience this. Also, the return/warranty policies aren't conducive to fixing this issue due to the time involved. Should I buy a new rain jacket to cover the up to 8 weeks I'll be without this one?
The bottom line is: if you're fortunate enough to get a jacket that zips properly, this is a great product. If, like me and others, your zipper is defective, I'd recommend looking elsewhere due to the difficulty in trying to fix the issue.

I so wanted this jacket to work out. The dijon color (with blue fleece) is just gorgeous. But, alas, the jacket is just too big (Small). I'm 5'7" and ~120 lbs. The small size looks gargantuan. I'll be returning mine...I wish they made an XS.

After a long research of jackets for the upcoming winter, this was the best I could find. I really like the idea of three ways to use it. For spring I can use the inner sweater, for rainy falls the outside waterproof jacket and for the cold winter in Boston, both!

I usually use this type of gear for Costa Rican rainforest adventures. Although I got this just a few days ago, I already gave it a go during a cold rainy day of hiking and it has proven to be superb. People at NF KNOW their stuff. Being a Triclimate jacket, you get unparalleled versatility and protection from basically any rant mother nature throws at you. A lot of thought went into this jacket, from the light and warm materials, to the small details like the tiny straps that hold the fleece's sleeves and collar to the jacket so that it wont shift and slide with movement. I will soon be moving to Europe and I can already envision a ton of fun and adventure with my new trusty green companion.

Picked this jacket up at the local Sail store and was super excited about it. Felt great on, warm and comfortable. However, the zipper on the outer shell is unbelievably bad (Note: the inner fleece shell zipper worked nicely on it's own).
I bought this jacket for my upcoming hiking trip to Peru, but the zipper functionality was so horrendous that I had to return it.
North Face is great in general, but this jacket was not.
