This shoe is sturdy - albeit a bit stiff. But has handled quite well in snow and on trails. They are warm and waterproof even in Ohio winter. They're not as soft and comfortable as other new balance but I overpronate and have history of ankle injuries so the support is what I was shopping for and definitely what I got. Plus - hiking shoes needn't be soft necessarily. And for a practical and sturdy support shoe, they aren't as ugly as I was expecting! Actually kinda cute.

Whenever I'm heading for a walk, this is my "go-to" shoe. It gives support and stability. Iveworn thought one pair, and expect to give my second pair many months of use.

I bought these waterproof New Balance shoes for walking in winter weather. They fit just like my regular New Balance athletic shoes, although they are a bit stiffer and heavier, which is to be expected from a hiking shoe. Good quality and comfortable. I love the color, too. Described as "gray" they are actually a nice shade of denim blue.

I wear these every day rain or shine around our farm. They are waterproof and very comfortable. Just purchased my 3 pair.

When I first put these shoes on I kept them on all day. They are very comfortable, fit well, and have good arch supports.

This shoe is so comfortable! The toe box is very roomy and the sizing is right on point!

I have worn this same pair for 4 years - finally broke down and bought another pair. Definitely got my money's worth and I love being able to get the same shoes again. They are my go to shoes!

These are among the best shoes I've ever owned. In fact, this is my SECOND pair. I bought the first pair just a couple months back, and bought this second pair just so I could change up between them. I wear my New Balance 1300s every single day for dog walking--I estimate that I put 5 to 7 miles on them daily. They were not too hot in the summer and they've been good so far this winter. They grip well when I'm walking uphill or downhill and so far so good in the slight snow we've had. But I will say you should be careful if you're walking on a painted surface that's slippery, i.e., a crosswalk in the rain, and they are not really made for walking on ice. Then again, they are not advertised for ice--that's why I am still giving this outstanding shoe a 5-star rating. The insole adds a layer of comfort, but even without (I didn't wear the insoles in the summer because my feet tend to swell), this is a comfortable, solid shoe that provides the support my flat feet need. Also, I like that I can lace them up pretty snugly so they fit my narrow heels well.

I have worn these shoes for at least 8 years now. As I have neuropathy in my feet, I need shoes that are supportive, yet comfortable enough for walking and hiking. Hope they never stop making them!

Got these to replace a 15 year old ew Balance pair that started leaking when worn in the rain. Very shoe like, a shoe not a low boot. Expect that they will work great for winter walkers.

These shoes fit great, feel good on my feet and when I walk, and are simply comfortable. I like the materials and wear them in these wintry days. They feel very stable. Like the color. Am overall pleased and satisfied.

This shoe was great for walking in shoveled driveways and parking lots. I walk to work and it is good on the hills. Keeps the feet warm by elevating them. It is a bit stiff, so I wouldn't run in them.

I've been wearing New Balance walking shoes for 14 years. They were recommended by my podiatrist. Of all the styles I've bought, THESE are the best! I was a little hesitant at first because they were labeled as a hiking shoe. Well, that must be what makes them so awesome! They are so supportive and most of all CUSHION my foot while I'm walking on the road. The sole is just fabulous! Like walking on a cloud. I also love the looks of these shoes and since I walk on some dirt roads, I know I can easily wipe them clean since they're waterproof. I hope they continue to sell this style forever!

This shoe was instantly comfortable. I have a high arch and sometimes experience pain over the top of my metatarsals. When I laced through every other eye hole, it minimized the pressure on this part of my foot. I'm a happy walker with this shoe.

My second pair love these 1300s bonus are waterproof

I finally had to put my 3 year old pair of these to rest. These are great for up to moderate trails and with the water resistant suede heavy dew on those early morning walks is a breeze. They are very comfortable and I have some neuropathy issues so I need something that I can stay on my feet for 4 or more hours. Highly recommend.

I am loving my new New Balance 1300 sneakers. They are true to size and very comfortable for walking in my neighborhood on pavement. I have a narrow heel, and medium width toe, and the shoes are are an excellent fit for me. Also, they keep my feet nice and warm.

These are very comfortable and sturdy shoe for me to wear while working in hilly yard.

This is my second pair and I am so glad that the shoe is still made. It fits perfectly for my long walks and some hiking. I took a chance and ordered half size larger since activity level is high. That was the right thing to do. I am a N but got M to deal with hiking socks. That too was good.
