Assignment: Find shoes that will be comfortable and look decent when worn almost daily for four weeks of active touring/vacation in NYC and Europe. Accomplish this without having actually worn the shoes yet. Nearly impossible, right? Well, these are the least unattractive shoes I could find that seem sturdy, well made and comfortable enough for that kind of use and for my 58 year old feet that are a challenge after too many decades of being squished into high heeled business shoes. I'm optimistic that I've chosen well with the Clarks Ashland Spin Q, so am giving four stars. I hope to be able to raise it to five stars after the trip.

I loved these shoes, they were instantly comfortable and the width was perfect. The only problem I had was they were a tiny bit too short. I have a hard foot to fit as I am between an 11 narrow and an 11 1/2 narrow. They don't make 11 1/2 in any shoes and 12's are too big for me. I have to pick shoes that run just a tad long. The price was awesome as well. I was so sorry they didn't have my size.

While the size and fit felt true to the size I chose, after wearing about an hour, the right shoe became very uncomfortable and hurt my metatarsal area. I stopped wearing it and went back to my tried and true Birkenstocks and the pain stopped immediately. I tried the Clarks again the next day and again, the right shoe started to hurt in the metatarsal area. I really liked the color, the style and the fit and comfort of the shoe on my left foot was just perfect. Reluctantly, I had to return them because of the pain in the right foot. Otherwise, I would have kept these shoes. They have so much more style than my Birkenstocks. I had to mark that I returned them because they didn't fit as it was the closest category that applied to my situation. However, they DID fit and they are true to size. It was MY right foot that had a problem and nothing wrong with the fit of these shoes. They fit well, style is great and the color was wonderful. If they didn't hurt my right foot, they would never have been returned.

I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE RIGHT SIZE WHEN I TRIED ON BUT WHEN I WENT TO ACTUALLY WEAR THEM I LITERALLY WALKED RIGHT OUT OF SHOE. THE WIDTH WAS GOOD BUT HTE SIZE WAS HALF SIZE TOO BIG. I HAD ORDERED THE HALF SIZE SMALLER BUT THE WIDTH WAS ALSO SMALLER SO I RETURNED. SO NOW I HAVE TO RETURN THESE. MAYBE AN 8.5 REG WOULD WORK?

I really loved the shoe. it runs a little long..because it seemed long I ordered the next size down. to my surprise the length wasn't much different but the width was. it was snug and not wide like the larger size. I returned the smaller size--very easy. I kept the larger size because I wear socks in the winter with the shoe where as in the summer I may order the smaller size. It is a very cute shoe. finally found something cute and with the support I need. thank you

Clarks always fit me well. These are a little wide in the toes. But not enough to be concerned.

The first time I only wore them an hour in the house and they seemed fine, but when I wore them to church the velcro felt like it loosened. I didn't realize I could return them but will use your site again

I like Clark's shoes. This runs a little tight across the top of the foot - too bad both straps across aren't adjustable. I wore them around my house for a couple of hours, and they loosened up. The color is good, and the style is seasonless.

This is my 4th pair. I have one in every color. I love this shoe. It's comfortable to wear all day to work or out shopping for the day. Looks great with a pair of jeans or in my work slacks. It's all around a good looking and comfortable shoe. I highly recommend.

This shoe is very comfortable. Nice to look at. Fit was true to size. Could wear all day with no sore feet. Love these shoes.

I normally wear an 11N but I gave a 4 on “true to size” because these shoes were a little longer & wider than normal. Maybe in my mature age, my feet are shrinking. Since I will be wearing them mostly with jeans, I plan to keep them & wear socks with them. They are soft and flexible and the toe area is roomy which adds to their comfort. I have used Zappos for years (because of my 11N size) and I love the ease of their ordering & return policies. Thank you, Zappos!!

It took a while to get the right size (YAY Zappos for such a liberal return and shipping policy!) but now I have the correct fit. They are comfortable right out of the box, and I like the stitching - it gives it a snappier look than just plain black comfort shoes. The velcro wrap is high, so while I was able to adjust the tightness for my width easily, the shoes are pretty much slip-on/slip-off, which is also just fine for me, but it might not suit those who want a tight, secure fit towards the back of the foot.

Love the look of these shoes. Right shoe lacks stability and caused my foot to turn inward. Will return them and try something else.

I love Clarks shoes and normally wear a 7.5 wide. Although I loved the design of this shoe, the 7.5W was at least a half size too long. I will need to return and try the smaller size.

I usually need an extra wide shoe, but I had to exchange for a wide and one half-size smaller for a better fit. They are cute and sturdy, great for skirts and slacks alike.

I like the shoe, but the size wide is too wide for my foot. I’m stuck between too narrow or too wide, therefore kept the wide.

I exchanged the tan for the pewter color but I wish I could have kept both. Looks dressy but very comfy for walking all day touring. Because it is still new I am still wearing socks, but they already seem comfortable enough that I could do without the socks if I had to.

We are going to New Orleans for Thanksgiving and I want to bring just one pair of shoes that could be good for walking and for dress so this look like the perfect pair. I test drove them the other day and all they are so comfortable and they look so nice so I think they will be perfect for my trip.believe me it's going to be a stretch for me to bring one pair of shoes but I want to limit my space in my luggage& these are just spot in.

These are super cute but unfortunately they were too wide for me even in the narrow size, particularly near the heel. I had to tighten the strap but that caused the metal loop to dig into my skin. I only wore them in the house but I expect that on a longer walk outside I would have been in major pain. I decided to return these and got Rockport Cobb Hill Petra which fits my narrow feet much better!

The shoes ft just right. Often Clarks are too large for me but these are fine. The style is very nice and I should be able to wear it for many occasions. I,got the pewter color and it's browner than I expected but it will work.

I needed a good walking shoe and something that wasn’t old lady looking. Tried the 11 and it was too short but the 12 worked fine. Like the style and comfort and hope they’ll be comfortable for traveling.

This shoe appears more steel-grey than blue. Its comfortable and the fit is great!

Really liked these shoes for casual dress but the cross straps across the top hit my foot at an odd angle and was not comfortable. Unfortunately, had to return.

This is a cute shoe with casual dresses, shorts and pants. I wasn't loving the pewter color so I ordered the navy to replace it. I really wanted black, but they were out of stock in my size.
