These are great boots. The accomodate my orthotics, and provide good support. I hike a lot, and they last a year. I hope Keen continues to carry these! One word of caution: pass the boot laces twice through the top clasps, to avoid catching the opposite lace and tripping.

Pros: Nice toe box, which was one reason for my purchase; they also address problems I began to have with my Vasque breezes, which was blisters at the intersection of my heel and sole.
Less than perfect: Maybe Im lacing them improperly, but they seem to hit a nerve on the top of my foot. They also seem less forgiving on rocky NH trails compared to my Vasques.
Id recommend with these caveats.

These boots have lasted me 10 years of hiking and backpacking and adventuring. Ive waded through rivers in them and worked on farms in them, roamed woods and deserts and climbed mountains. Even with the life theyve lived they are still very much wearable and comfortable. These are the best shoes Ive owned in my life and I think of them as an old friend.

I LOVE my new boots!!! I wear them to work every night and after 8 hours on a hard concrete floor my feet feel great. There's no pain whatsoever. I can't wait to get these in a tennis shoe style.
Thanks Keene

There wasn't much difference between the 9 and and the 9.5, except the 9 seemed a bit wider, so I decided to keep the 9.

I love these boots but lat 2 pairs I bought the soles fell apart and I had to keep gorilla gluing them. Also this last pair fell apart in the body of the shoe. Very disappointing as I am not even doing any actual hiking.

Ive been wearing these hikers for about 6 months now, maybe more. They are so comfortable and relatively lightweight. It doesnt bother me at all to wear them for many hours when out in the trails. Great support but feel like they have enough flex to maneuver where I need to. These are a huge upgrade from my Decathalon hikers I had before. I anticipate they will last a long time, just like all of my other keens have!

Ive been wearing Scarpa walking boot for years but have been disappointed with the grip in wet and icy weather and they have recently started to feel very uncomfortable so I was in need of a change. I walk between 7 and 10 miles a day with my dog so comfort and durability is very important to me.
These boots arrived just as I was getting ready to go walking. I put them on and walked for over 9 miles. No blisters, no discomfort. Perfect. I love them

From the moment I put these hiking boots on, I haven't wanted to take them off. They are the most comfortable hiking shoes I've every worn. They grip well on a variety of terrains. Unlike a lot of other boots I've worn in the past, the laces on these boots are textured so that the laces stay securely tied keeping you safe while on the trail. Not only do they look awesome, the fit is just right!

I've been wearing keens for decades. I was wearing them when it wasn't conceivable to wear them with shorts. Haha. Well, that's what the shoe sales man told me at the mall, anyway. I did it anyway because at the time I worked in a zoo and bought them for all the water I was around. Anyyyyyway.... Thousands of hiking miles later, I know what size I need and when I want a new shoe, I've always been confident when I ordered keen online. Except for the last 12 months. Last March I bought myself the same shoe I always wear in the same size and my toes were jammed up against the front, and my hiking boots were useless. So I bought a low ankle shoe another half size bigger and it was stupidly too big. So this year I bought another shoe in my usual size (too small) and another boot an extra half size bigger and its ridiculously big. Sorry keen, it's likely I'll spend the year trying out other brands and also going back to Merrill moabs. Lost alot of confidence and money on keen lately. Super disappointed. Why fix what wasn't broke. Also I feel like I could pull the shoe away from the sole on my latest pair. With my hands, if I wanted.
When it asks me below how the fit is, I don't know how it really fits. My current boot is way too big even though I know I need a half size bigger for my multi day hikes on the AT. But I don't know if it's true to size or not. I just know I had to go up a whole shoe size instead of half and I'm wearing clown sized shoes. Also....get some new colors already.

These boots are my seventh pair of Keens. I recently started working at a wildlife sanctuary and needed an indoor/outdoor pair of boots that would fit with thick socks and keep my feet dry when outdoors in the winter. Ive worn them on short hikes and they needed NO break-in. They have great support and the treads are excellent.

Love these boots. Have been wearing them for years. Every time I wear out a pair I buy a new pair - size 7. Just went for my first hike in my new pair and the size 7 was a whole size too big. Went to a local retailer and tried on other sizes. In this new model I wear a size 6. If you order the same size you always have, pay close attention to that 30-day return period! I did not because I have ALWAYS been a size 7 and now I am stuck with a too-big pair...

The first pair I ordered where a bit too small, I returned them and ordered a half size up (larger than my normal size) and they fit much better. I've only had them a few days but so far they are very comfortable.

I've been a huge Keen customer for years as Zappos can attest. I guess they're working towards discontinuing this model which is unfortunate as the Targhee lll is really very unappealing to me. As far as this model is concerned, I've always loved the fit, but the colors have been difficult. I really liked the goat/crown blue combo as not being overtly feminine and going with my neutral blue jeans wardrobe. Ordered a pair which I loved and they had the standard darker almost black soles & toe kicks. That pair oddly sprung a hole in it almost immediately which is rare for Keens so I returned and was very disappointed they were out of stock. Bought a different model of Keens at a local store because I had no shoes and needed them fast.
Then within a few weeks Zappos had this color combo again so I ordered two more pairs, one for my vacation home as flying/driving back & forth with so much stuff is kind of a pain. The next two pairs have light grey soles which are no where near as nice looking IMO, in fact I'm disappointed every time I put them on, but I kept them anyway as there are no other choices that work as well and aren't painful. Also have upsized a half size from what I used to order in this model and I've decided they fit better and my old toes don't go numb as fast..

I've always really liked Keens, and I probably would have kept these, but the top of the boot rubbed above my ankle and it just wan't comfortable on me. But, these seemed like really sturdy shoes, and were definitely wide enough in the toe box for my bunions. I'm sure they would work for others though, just not me.

I have the original Targhee vent mid boots which I love and wear a 10.5 Women's. These Targhee II are too small in size 10.5 - a size 11 fits well enough (maybe a tad too big). The heel feels higher that the original Targhees (so less of a drop)

I have worn the Keen Voyageur hiking shoe for years and have thought that they was the best fit I could get for my problem feet. Voyageurs are the widest width hikers I could find to support my almost flat feet and accommodate my bunions--all four of them. I finally decided to try the Targhee ii mid hikers and were pleasantly surprised on the comfort level and the support. Of course, because they are a bit narrower than the Voyageur, there was a very short adjustment time where the leather stretched a bit for my bunions. I can honestly say they feel pretty great and are now my new favorite fitting hiker! Being a mid hiker, I can tie and hook my laces holding my foot in place, keeping it from sliding forward, preserving the much needed room in the toe box as I hike. I wear a Keen 9.5 in a hiker and a 9.0 in a Venice sandal. I have not yet worn the Targhee II in the hot summer months but, inside the home they have not uncomfortable with wool socks on. It does concern me that Keen seems to be changing their shoe lines, going away from offering the hard to find wider widths. Please keep the wider widths for us with problem feet. I now have purchased three pairs of the Targhee II and even got my husband with a 13 EEEE to purchase a pair before they are discontinued.

I purchased these a few months ago. The picture was not accurate as the boots were a light navy green more that black, but that's ok. I wear them on my daily hikes from 3-5 miles each day. I have a bunion and bought the medium width, which was ok once I loosened the laces. They have moderate arch support and are fairly comfortable. I live in the mountains and have hiked in the snow and my feet stay warm and dry. I would buy agian.
