I bought two pairs. Black and brown. They repel salt and snow all winter long. They keep my feet very warm and dry. I get a lot of complements on them. When I had issues with salt after a years wear with ONLY RE black pair, Merrell replaced them. I would recommend them to anyone.

Received these from my wife for Christmas and was so excited! They run larger as I am a size 12 and my feet were swimming in these boots. I want to order another pair because they are very comfortable when I tried them on.

I am a Merrell Ambassador. If I am wearing jeans, I am always wearing this boot. I love the style and comfort, and while I mostly wear it around town, it is perfect for that short impromptu hike, even if the hike has a few low water crossings. I treat this boot primarily as a day-to-day and camp-set-up boot, that has a light hiking use. If I am going to log some serious miles I'm wearing a trail running shoe which I feel better about beating up. I like these too much to beat up to be honest.
While I have heard about some issues with durability, I have not had any issues in that regard. Mine have held up well under the above mentioned use patterns.

Boots seem to be made with high quality materials. When new they don't feel ultra comfortable, I'm sure they will break in with a couple miles of use

After settling and getting a subpar boot last winter I finally bought these bad boys. I ordere a size 12 which is my usual size but they are a half size too big. Besides the boot being a little too big I've been completely happy with them. I use these as my winter boots and they have keep my feet dry and warm. They look good on foot and I always get compliments every time I wear them. I look forward to having these for a few years and getting another pair after those.

I've had these boots for about a year now, and up until this point they have been my absolute favorite boots and I wore them any chance I got. Living in Michigan, the winters get quite cold obviously, but I haven't had any problems with leaking or anything like that. The issue I have had is upon wearing them in the snow (which was partially my intended use of purchasing them) is the leather seems to have been eaten away from the snow and presumably the salt as well. I've never had this happen with any other boots I've owned, and I'm hoping this is a fluke. I originally planned to buy more pairs of these boots. Disappointing.

These boots are everything I wanted them to be. Keeping my feet warm and dry all day, while also comfortable to stand and walk fair distance in too.

I love the look and design of these boots. After wearing them for a few days they have gotten more comfortable. The area around the toes/laces takes awhile to flex and is a little uncomfortable on the first few wears. Otherwise, I would highly recommend them.

Really nice and comfortable, the only thing that bugged me about them is the aweful-looking sole, don't know what they were thinking when designing it... but easily solved with some permanent marker.

This boot looks great and it can be dressed up for work and a night out or dressed down for a couple drinks at the local brewery and a movie. Very comfortable as well and not too heavy. I thought they did run a little big and if I had to do all over again I would order a size down but they're not too big to where I felt the need to send them back,

I've had the boots for a while, and actually bought them in olive that I don't see on here any longer. I can't imagine the build being much different between colors, and here I am looking for a new pair of boots.
They're a sharp looking boot, casual and stylish in one, but still functional so you're not afraid to get them dirty. You can wash them off and they hold a coat of polish to look new again. Fit was good and I didn't have to use inserts or anything like on some shoes to fine tune them. I wear these several days a week and they handled rain and puddles without leaking.
Alas, the stitching is now coming apart where the shoe attaches to the heel. Being in Texas I avoid glued shoes because the heat has actually ruined shoes of mine. I prefer stitching but these are unraveling on both feet.
I'll be looking for a different piece of footwear.

The color completely faded, within a few Winter months, of consistent wearing. They appeared to look as if they were 5 years older. Disappointed, to say the least, as I am an individual who takes care of my footwear, as well...

I purchase men's sugarbush hiking boots back in the spring of 2018. I found them warm, comfortable, waterproof, and secure around the ankles. A large portion of my hiking is on wood trails and beaches. It's been less then 9 months and my only complaint is that the treads are already worn down flat to the sole of the boot. My laces still look like new. I was hoping to get more than a year out of them.

So, starting with the good; these boots not only look baller, but are very very comfortable and warm. I've only warn them for a little over a week and get compliments left and right.
Now, for the 3 stars. They say waterproof in the name, but are not, at all. We just got a dusting of snow up here in Buffalo and just walking through my work parking lot, I got my feet wet. Winter has just started and haven't even had a chance to got through a classic Buffalo winter. Regrettably I'll be returning these.

I have had these boots for about a year. I only wore them a few times up until this winter when I decided to wear them to work. I was outside working a power outage situation with some snow on the ground and by lunch time my feet were soaked. I wasn't walking through large puddles, just slushy snow. I love these boots because they're versatile in terms of their aesthetics, but they're really not waterproof. I had to go home and put on my hiking boots from another brand, which managed to keep me dry for the rest of the day. Kind of bummed me out.

I bought two pairs of these boots (olive and black) and absolutely love of they look and feel. Not so great in terms of their water proofing if you plan on actually hiking in them. The olive pair I got started to separate around the toes and when I emailed Merrell, I was blown away by the customer service I received to address the situation. While these boots aren't the best, the service from Merrell will keep me with the brand.

On my initial wearing, these boots felt fine. Seemed to fit true. After a few days of wearing I started to feel a bad pain in my ankle bone. As it turns out, the metal lace loops at the top align right with my ankle bone and press on it badly when worn.
I thought maybe they would break in, but even after 7+ days of wearing, the pain persists. I've tried gluing pads to that part of the shoe, but they only help for a little while. Merrell had an older style that was similar to this that I found very comfortable. Disappointed in these.

I have worn Merrell shoes for many years with very good experiences. I loved this boot but it did not wear well during the winter. The leather seemed to breakdown when wet. Salt stains ruined the boot. I was very disappointed that this boot did not last long.

These boots are incredibly comfortable and good-looking. My pair got a lot of use during the last winter season in Seattle. I can't say enough of how good my feet feel in these boots. Or rather felt, until I noticed that my feet started getting a little wet in them. How can it be, the boots are waterproof, right? Well, turns out, the soles on both shoes separated after just one season. I took them to a very well-regarded local cobbler (Dave Page in Seattle, google him), he fixed the soles by applying some glue, and told me that there's a layer of, wait for it, paper between the rubber part of the soles and the leather upper. He also told me that he's seen many pairs of this type of boot of this problem. Apparently, the soft paper layer just opens up after some exposure to moisture. Incredible. I'd love to give these boots 5 stars, but as it is, it's between 2 and 3 stars. I hope you enjoy these boots... just know you might have to take them for repairs before too long. Which is too bad, because this is one of the most comfortable boots I've ever worn.

I've been using these boots for nearly a year now and they are great. Good traction, comfortable, nice aesthetics. But I need a boot that is truly waterproof and these are not them. Early on in my use water seeped through the seam dampening my foot. Might be a fault in the seam but I'm not sure. For dry trails and mild weather these are very nice boots. But for wet weather and snow try other Merrell boots more up to the task.

I bought these boots do love the way the feel and look. Just beware wore these boots in the snow twice the water did get through the boots from the threads. Also the salt and snow mixture absolutely destroyed the leather cause major discoloration.

I, like several others here, love the Sugarbush! It is comfortable all day boot inside or on the trails. My first pair had the sole separate from the boot. Merrell is a stand-up company and replaced them. Now my replacements are coming apart as well. Merrell is currently working with on the second failed pair of Sugarbush.

Purchased these boots to work in. I'm a small animal vet, so they've only been worn inside and sparingly. These boots look great and fit well. The problem is that the stitching is coming undone and the sole has started to seperate from the leather upper. Incredibly disappointing considering the price point of this product.

It is a great looking and fitting boot. However, it is not waterproof and stains quickly. We have purchased clothing which is fantastic, but the footwear has been concerning...cold and wet feet! Fit is good, Style is on point, features have not lived up.

I purchased these boots about a year ago. They fit and feel great, although I noticed that within the first week or two of buying them they were already starting to leak. What I've concluded to be the problem with the boot is the white material between the leather of the boot and the blue stripe on the side of the sole. This white material starts to breakdown and let's water and salt into the boot when it's raining or walking outside during winter. This has caused the leather around the toe on my left boot to bubble up and dry out from the salt. It's impossible to get the salt out from under the leather. I've tried to seal the white part that has broken-down so no more water gets in but it seems like there is always water getting in. I do take car of my boots and know how to clean, condition, and polish them.
Maybe I just got a bad pair but it also appears that this product has mixed reviews. I know Merrel makes a good boot and shoe, but I am very unimpressed with the quality of these pair of boots I have. The material between the vibram sole and the bottom of the leather boot needs to be improved.
