Very happy with these ankle boots! I bought them for a two week trip to Ireland, and coming from a drought state, rain seemed a bit exotic to me, so I wanted to be prepared with some shoes that could handle rain but still work well for walking long distances. When I received them, I was very happy with the style, the size, and how they felt - no break in time required at all as most of us have come to expect with Merrells. They are lightweight but sturdy enough for a hike, comfy and good looking enough to wear in a city without feeling out of place. I visited many sites with soggy ground, trekked mlles through the rain, even accidentally stepped into a bog and no water got in these shoes. I look forward to wearing them for a long time to come!

The good news about these boots is that they were comfortable (with some added insoles) right out of the box. I bought them for a trip to Ireland and wore them all day, every day for ten days. They looked great with jeans and leggings. They seemed to be waterproof though most of the rain was light. Now the bad news. Waterproof boots should have soles that keep you from slipping on wet surfaces and these boots could not be counted upon to do that. In a light rain I was slip-sliding on paved surfaces, hotel floors and cobblestone streets. I could not walk with confidence on any wet surfaces. Merrell needs to find a way to make better soles for their waterproof boots.

I loooooove these shoes. They're amazing as rain boots and as hiking shoes. Everyone compliments them. They're very comfortable, although there is no arch support. There's plenty of room for an insert though. My feet are cold if I'm not wearing thicker socks, but it is winter when I wear them...

Love these shoes. I bought them for hiking and they didn't disappoint. Very durable in the mud, I did spray them with a waterproofing, and they cleaned up nicely. Comfortable with good traction.

These boots are great. Wore them for a week in the rain in Northern California they don't look like they'd be waterproof but they are. Comfortable right out of the box

These keep my feet warm, are good for snow/ice, and look nice enough to wear w slacks to work. Very well made. I ordered a half size larger to accommodate thick socks.

I bought these boots for my daughter and she LOVES them. She wears tennis shoes most of the time but I bought these boots in an effort to get her to break out of her comfort zone. She says these boots feel great and they look good with so many outfits. She's gotten lots of compliments from her friends at school. So glad I made this purchase.

I LOVE these boots! They fit right out of the box, are warm, comfortable, and stylish enough to wear "around", but tough enough to go "slogging".

Like everyone else wrote, there is no break in time needed. These are perfect right out of the box. The size is true in all areas. I have flat feet and the fact that there is really no arch support, is not a problem. I got the black and they are awesome. I wear them almost every day.

These were exactly the boots I wanted: waterproof, lace-up, relatively streamlined, comfortable, and from a brand I know makes great products (I have a couple pair of Merrell boots that I've acquired over the years of living in snowy Boston, and both are holding up beautifully). They fit as expected and were comfortable! I'm returning them, sadly; I found the detailing on the side to be more noticeable than I had hoped (and it felt kind of frumpy - at least to me - with the couple pairs of pants I tried out with the boot). I wish I could have this boot without any of the detailing around the back!

looove these. just got em out of the box and am writing this review. they are less clunky than they appear on the website, comfortable, and unique and stylish looking with the native american looking accents on the outside. i foresee this being my everyday shoe attire this fall and winter. i tried on some combat style boots, was digging the lace up look, but like these better. goes better with my peace and yoga sensibilities;)

Love it! It's the Merrell comfort you are used to in a cute ankle boot. Definitely can get all day wear right out of the box.

Awesome shoes: super comfortable, stylish, and versatile! There is zero break in time. No need to ponder about these shoes...You will get a lot of miles and uses out of these babies!

I LOVE these boots! They were comfortable right out of the box. I wore them for miles the second time I had them on my feet. They are warm enough without making my feet sweat, and I love how they look.

Great and attractive boot. So happy to see more of these lightweight women's "boots". I gave only 4 stars for comfort, as I (personally) wish it offered more cushioning/support. I have noticed my feet feel a bit damp when I remove these boots, just FYI: NOW - THE REAL REASON I CHOSE TO GIVE THIS REVIEW TO ZAPPOS IS...............ALL OF YOU! Most of my communication with ZAPPOS BEES' is telephone customer service. WITHOUT FAIL.......every interaction I have had turns out to be a positive difference in my day! Just got these shoes and wore them immediately for a VERY rainy week cruising the coast of Alaska. Classy shoe with jeans. Looks like the walking shoes being worn all over Europe. Zero break in time needed. Absolutely 100% DRY feet! Very comfortable for walking. More of a "barefoot" style. Sizing and width the same as other Merrells I've owned. I'm considering purchasing a second pair.

These boots do the trick. I took a risk of taking these to India as my primary shoe & they did not disappoint. Though, after long days of walking my soles were sore. I used mole skin on my heals the first few days b/c I did not break the shoes in & I did not get blisters. Good ankle support. Awesome design on the side & color! These are stylish to wear in the city or practical on the trail.

I bought these shoes to throw on whenever with leggings and a sweatshirt. I couldn't decide if I liked them or not. I was very on he fence as the design on the side is more prominent than I wanted. They were comfortable but ultimately I returned them.

These would have been great boots but they run very large. My heel kept swimming around as I tried to walk. A shame as these are otherwise the comfortable and supportive shoes I have come to expect from Merrell

These boots are so cute. I just love the look of them! They fit true to size and are pretty comfy in the footbed, but not a lot of arch support. They are difficult to keep tied. This style of lace just slips a lot and can be difficult to tighten. They need to be tighter just at the bottom of the ankle, so they feel secure on the foot, but that is not possible. Tightening them only makes the top of the ankle tight and uncomfortable. The worst part is a pokey bit right at the top inside back of the shoe, where the stitching comes together. It pokes miserably and I was left with bruises at the back of both ankles. I've gotten some boot cuffs to help cushion so I can keep wearing them.

I really wanted to love these boots, they were supper cute on, but... they just weren't comfortable enough. they did however have plenty of room for custom orthopedics and believe me that's what they need. No support and the soles are hard as rock.
