I ordered these boots because I wanted good dog-walking winter boots that I could also wear to my casual office without sweltering. I also have custom orthotics so I suspected that the removable footbed would come out and I'd have room for my orthotics. These seem to be a win on all counts. They seem to run a little wide which is actually a plus in my book. I was able to lace them a little tighter but there is still plenty of room for thick socks.

Opinions on sizing seem to run in every direction with this boot. In my case, even though I have a new pair of Merrell shoes that are a perfect fit in 7.5, these were too small, especially since the toe box could be higher. I exchanged them for a size 8, which are working great. The Arctic Grip sole is impressive, though not a substitute for spikes, I like the coziness of the faux fur cuff in addition to the overall insulation. These are just what I was looking for in a winter hiking / errand-running boot. Zappo's fast delivery and super-friendly, fast exchange service made it easy to get the right fit with less fuss than going shopping in person.

This is a cute and comfortable boot. I chose it for it's waterproof and anti slip qualities, and like that the width is adjustable with the laces. Nice when I do not need high snow boots but want to be warm and dry.

I didn't intend to keep these because I had "enough" boots, but they were so darn cute, warm and so comfortable, I couldn't send them back.

These boots make your feet look huge. They are bulky, heavy and uncomfortable. They look much cuter in the picture than in person. The ankle area is the most uncomfortable part. The angled opening of the boot, and the way the front rubs the lower front shin is very awkward when walking. Sorry to have to return them....

I bought these boots in an 8.5 which is my normal shoe size -- not boot size which I typically size up to a 9. For me they run a half size too big and if I had not had the immediate need to wear them due to an ice storm, I would have replaced them for an 8. That said, I added an insert and with bulky socks they fit pretty securely. As for tread and grip which is why I bought them, they worked like a charm on an early season and first NC ice storm. I dislike ice and felt totally secure walking in them. For secure tread and comfortable fit, I highly recommend them.

I was looking for a comfortable mid height boot good for the snowy and icy streets of my Chicago suburb. I needed something with a thick and stiff sole for an ankle and foot injury. These serious hiking boots seem great but were overkill for my present needs.

Great style. Warm winter choice. Good quality. Fit best with my normal Merrell 7.5 size although I tried the size 8 first based on reviews. However I returned the shoe as I just could not make it comfortable for me. Tried substituting insoles for orthotics, different socks, loosening top laces, etc., but the top angle continued to create rubbing on my foot/leg. I still like this model a lot and just wish my foot/ankle would cooperate. My disappointment.

Originally ordered these in a size 10. I have many, many Merrell's ALL size 10. These run a whopping 2SIZES too big! Size 9 did the trick. They are super comfy, exceptionally warn with very good arch support. They are super cute, as well.

I have what I call "paddle" feet as they are very wide. The toe box in this boot was perfect and it felt comfortable. However, I had to return it because my ankle slipped even with thick socks. This is the first time that this has happened.

These boots are really cute and I wanted them to work. The fit around my foot was good and they felt cozy and warm, but when I walked around, the top felt very stiff and cut into my leg. I could tell it would be painful if I wore them for an extended period. I ordered an 8.5 as I wanted to wear them with heavy wool socks (I wear a 7.5 in a street shoe) and the size was perfect, other than the uncomfortable top. So sorry to have to return them as they were the cutest of the ones I ordered in my attempt to find a great boot for very cold and icy conditions.

I am in love with these boots! I had put off purchasing a 'good' pair of boots for too long. These keep my feet completely warm. They are primarily my dog walking in the snow and snow shoveling boots. Not once did my feet get cold in the snow. I was pretty impressed. They feel very sturdy and supportive. Clearly not for snow that is too deep :) I love them!

As other reviewers have said, these run a little larger than expected but this works really well as you will most likely be wearing a thicker sock with these boots. Quite warm - I've been wearing them to walk across the Chicago Loop as a commuter, and also wore them in the Uppers Peninsula of Michigan where the temps were in the low teens. I haven't yet experienced them in temps lower than 10F. The hiking boot sole works well in the city and in the woods. Walking on ice is ok but take care - nothing keeps you from slipping on ice except ice cleats. They are lightweight on your feet. I recommend them as good all-around cold weather boots.
