I wore these for a short hike and I barely made the last leg. I am going to buy some mole skin tape and heavier socks and see if I can make them work because that's a whole lot of money for something I can't use.

I bought these boots towards the end of last season and have been very disappointed. They always seem to leak, making my feet wet almost every time I wear them. I also have had them for less than a year and the zipper broke. The pull has broken off and since they have a locking zipper they are unusable, the zipper won't move. I do a lot of outdoor activities and was hoping to use these for snowshoeing and winter biking, but they are not good boots. Save yourself the trouble and the money and buy a different pair.

I wear these boots for city walking and they are warm and fit my narrow feet well. For the first two weeks I had constant rubbing at the inner ankle area, but eventually it stopped. The hooks at the top of the boot were very annoying, having holes would be quicker and more convient because the boots would stay laced and secure. The boots could use more cushioning in the midsole for a more springy feel. I like how Merrell has a removable footbed because I can use my own insoles.>> I was assured BEFORE PURCHASE that these were WATERPROOF all the way up to the fur part, but when I had to walk through puddles the water must have come in through the zipper. My toes were soaked. Also, the bellows tongue attaches to the boot too far down giving water more opportunity to get in. Can you move it to the top? If you could sell a boot w/out a zipper, eliminate the hooks, move the bellows tongue and put in flexible material around the ankle in the next version that would be ideal. The soles are grippier than other soles, however I wear ice cleats which gives me a lot more confidence on solid ice. I've used other Merrell shoes for years and I love them.
