I bought these boots for a 15 day trip around Iceland during winter. I was expecting them to be good, but they are amazing. Sooo comfortable! They provide all the grip I need, even on ice. I just never expected a boot to be this good! Thank you, Merrell!

Best waterproof boots I have ever purchased !

Although I haven't worn in the ice and snow yet, I was pleasantly surprised at how well they fit and how comfortable they were. I have the Merrell Ice clog which is a really nice anti-slip shoe but needed something that came up past my ankle in the snow. I'm sure these will be just as stable in the ice and snow and can't wait to test them out. The other nice thing is they aren't too bulky.

These are going to be great come winter! I won't have to worry about slipping on ice while pregnant!

I'm a mail carrier and got these boots specifically because it had the grip soles for ice. They grip well to snow but I was sliding all over the place from driveway to driveway with absolutely no grip to ice. I ended up buying slip on ice studs for my boots cause the grip they say they put on the boot isn't enough. I was disappointed with that feature of the boot but otherwise they are very warm and comfortable as I walk 20-30km day. Some reviews have mentioned about no ankle support in the boot. I find it ok although the material is puckering around the ankle but I find doesn't affect the boot or wear at all. I sized up so that I could wear thicker socks and the fit is perfect. Overall it's a great boot for Canadian winters but be very careful with slippery or icy surfaces as these boots won't do the job.

Am happy with my boots. Looking forward to the snow and ice to come down and when I start using them then.

These are a bit loose compared to the boots from a couple years ago, and the material around the foot is pretty stiff. Based on my past experience I'm hoping they will break in with time but we'll see.

This boot is comfortable and warm. However, it is not as comfortable as other Merrell shoes like the jungle moc. It also runs a bit large. It is fantastically warm and has not failed to keep my feet completely dry. The one design flaw seems to be the hooks at the top. I am a sometimes half zip, sometiems no zip, throw on my boots and go kind of girl. Because there is a side zip, I don't really see the point of hooks at the top and even with the boot filly zipped and laced good and snug, the laces drop out of theses hooks. If I have just shoved my feet in to take out the trash or some such, the laces are always dragging along behind. Almost perfect. But not quite

Took a bit of breaking in but these boots are comfortable enough.. Would like if they were a bit warmer. Overall good value for the money

These boots are very comfortable, they fit perfectly. The soles are excellent and non slip.Just a small difficulty getting them off, even with the zipper.

I do love these boota, I'm very sensitive to the cold and they really help keeping me warm. They make colder weather a lot more bearable for me. They look great and the price wasn't bad. My only issue, however, is they can be really uncomfortable after a few hours.

I liked these boots. Sent them back because my travel plans changed and I don't need them. They fit well, were lightweight, had the Vibram arctic grip which I was stoked to try...but I didn't like the flashy details just for show. Would have preferred more attention to detail in the actual manufacturing process, like where the lining meets the boot. I can see where they would start to come apart first.

These are a gorgeous pair of boots. I'll get good use out of them here in Minnesota.

We live far north in NY state so winters are serious. I needed a boot that can handle the cold as well as icy walks. We also do some snowshoeing and the rubber top of the foot keeps the straps on the snowshoes from irritating my toes. My only disappointment is the silly "fleece" along top back of the boot, it just attracts snow. Overall a great boot.

I was looking into waterproof boot and I came across this product. I made my decision off of other reviews and I'm glad I did so. My feet stay warm and dry yet fashionable at the same time. I needed more stability and it had room to add my insert along with the already insert. I would suggest to buy half size up to do so if needed as I did for my intentions.

Got them just before an ice storm and they saved me from falling. Comfortable and great traction.

I bought these to wear for my job as a letter carrier in Wisconsin, from the recommendation of a co-worker. I walk for miles every day, up and down steps, along slippery paths, through snow drifts, and of late, in and out of slush puddles and across sheer ice. The boots are lightweight but sturdy; I never end the day feeling like I'm dragging clunky lead weights but my ankles have good support. They are super warm; perhaps a little too warm as I find my feet actually sweat quite a bit in them. But I've not had any wetness from melted snow or the occasional puddle. My only regret is that they are rubbing my heels. I use bandage tape to wrap the friction points though and that has worked well. I expect once they're fully broken in, they'll be perfect. I also had some irritation from the zipper placket rubbing the inside of my ankle, but I keep that area covered with the tape and that isn't a problem. I can't say whether the Arctic Grip lives up to the hype; I haven't slipped yet, but I also am very careful walking on ice, so perhaps time will tell. Lastly, they fit snugly, so they can be difficult to get off, but overall, I'm very pleased. I only rated the 4 stars because of the heel rub and zipper irritation. If that improves next year, I'll update this review.

When I looked for sizing guidelines, I read that Merrells run slightly larger so I got a half size smaller than I usually get. Mistake on my part, as I ended up getting a blister on one heel when I took a long-ish walk to break them in. I don't want to return them because they fit great on my left foot! And I'm optimistic about fixing the blister problem. I do wish they were made with some kind of strap to grab when pulling them on as it's tight getting my foot past the bend where foot meets leg. They are super warm and I'm looking forward to seeing how well they handle ice next winter.

I bought these for both winters in Western WA and trips to Fairbanks AK to visit family. Waited to put in my review until during my January trip to AK this year. In -20F to -30F My feet were just starting to get slightly cold after a half hour walking in the snow and 2 pairs of winter socks. They are wonderfully lightweight compared to other winter shoe offerings and easy to get on and off using the zippered side (greatly appreciated while getting through TSA). Traction is quite good although you still need to use a little caution on packed down/polished snow and ice sheets. Indoors they don't overheat and I had minimal foot sweating. I especially love how slim and nonbulky they are. Normally I'd be wearing pack boots which are large, bulky, have an inch of think pressed felt lining and hard to walk in/get on and off.

These shoes definitely do their job in terms of keeping you warm in freezing conditions. If you wear them inside your feet might even get a bit hot (for me, not uncomfortably so). They are so warm boot socks aren't necessary. My only complaint is that they seem to slouch/bunch around the ankle sometimes. Overall it is a very good boot and helps keep me steady on ice.
