Four-In-One Ankle Boot Review I was looking for a black ankle boot for fall that would look good with both jeans and a dress with tights. I ordered four different pairs for comparison: the Lucky Brand Basel, the Teva Foxy Leather, the Born Trinculo, and the CARLOS by Carlos Santana Lynn. 1) I tried on the Lucky Basel first and was shocked at how cheaply made and uncomfortable it was. It looked and felt like something from PayLess. Don't get me wrong, PayLess has its place, but for a Lucky boot for $130 to feel like that? I don't think so. I boxed it right back up without even comparing it to the others. 2) Next I tried on the Teva Foxy Leather - nice boot! Beautifully made with thick (but not too stiff) leather. Like others reviewers mentioned, it was a little hard to get on, but only very slightly, at least for me. It was comfortable and gave my foot a nice "lifted" feeling. I was not totally convinced on the styling (loved the heel though), but still, a quality boot. 3) Next up was the Born Trinculo - also a beautiful boot, and very nicely made. 100% comfortable, easy to put on. I could tell it would be something I would reach for every day. My only concern was that it was the most casual of the group. If only the heel was a *little* higher, even a quarter inch...I tried it on with a skirt and tights though and it was fine. 4) And finally the CARLOS. This boot was a bit more lightweight than the previous two, but it did not feel cheap at all, just different. I liked the style a lot - clean and a bit sleeker than the others, slightly pointier toe. Very comfortable and definitely looked good with tights. No zipper which made me happy. Plus it was a full $50 less than the other boots. In the end it came down to the Born and the CARLOS. If I could have, I would've purchased them both. I finally opted for the Born because I thought it was more flattering to my particular my leg shape, which is short and curvy. Also, of the two, the Born looked great with socks on top of tights (with a dress), and since I live in a cold area that's a plus. I am very happy with my purchase of the Borns, but I still *highly* recommend the CARLOS - a really nice boot and definitely a great value.

These booties are fantastic! They fit exactly true to size and are incredibly comfortable even with a little higher heel. I would highly recommend these if you're looking for a comfortable, fashionable bootie that works with jeans, pants, skirts, and dresses.

Stylish, comfortable, and warm -- the heel height is attractive and basically comfortable, but if you are used to wearing flats or low boots, this heel is fairly high with some ball-of-foot pressure. Lined with soft material, moderate padding in foot.

Perfect booties! Had been eyeing them for a while but kept looking/researching all my options. I love everything about them. The heel height is perfect - not too tall for all day comfort but still tall enough to look good for going out on the town. They have been super comfortable since I first put them on. I'm usually a 7.5 in shoes and boots but occasionally I need an 8 for the width. The 7.5 I ordered in this bootie is just right. The style is very versatile and easy to dress up or very relaxed. The cognac color is my favorite and easy to coordinate with a wide range of colors. Plus the burnished look on the toe is a nice rustic touch that I love. The shape of the toe was very important in my search and these booties were just what I was seeking - not pointed and not boxy, just a nice oval toe. They might take just a little wiggling to slip on my foot (which is short and wide) but for me doesn't take anything away from the bootie. I wear fashion boots all fall and winter and riding boots and barn work boots year round and these booties are definitely part of my favorites. They seem very well made and the quality of the leather is nice. To top it off I feel they are a great value.

High quality leather, very steady heel, unfortunately does not set well around my ankles. I have to return them.

I loved the way they looked. Size 8 were the right length but the medium width was way too wide. My feet slid around in them.

I love this boot. I wanted a casual boot that looks good with jeans. This is it. Very well made. True to size and comfortable even with the higher heel. I have tried so many brands most have been to narrow. Zappos is so awesome. They make it so easy to find the right boot and the right fit. Thank you.

Cute boots. I like the contrast color of the stacked heel. For me, it sets off the style a bit more than a completely black boot, and this fits well into my shoe wardrobe. I have a narrow heel, but wider toe area. These boots accommodated both in my usual shoe size.

Fit true to size for a boot. Love the look, definitely as pictured. Super stylish and comfortable enough to wear all day at work or out for a night on the town. Previously only owned Teva sandals, but I would definitely recommend Teva as a brand suitable for boots and shoes as well.

Great boots. Just what I was looking for. Read reviews before I ordered so I got them a half size larger then what I wear. A bit hard to get on first try but after I wore them around the house a few times they got a little easier to get on and a little more roomer. Very comfortable with a thinner sock. I wear them to work everyday and my feet do not hurt by the time I get home which sometimes can be a 10hour day. Bought them in black and brown. Very pleased

These are great! Very easy to get into and they don't bang into my ankles as some of these booties tend to. I ordered my usual size 10 and they fit fine.

GREAT Boots! I bought the brown color in September and have been wearing them a lot and thought I would like a pair in black too. They are stylish and very comfortable- I can and have walked for up to 2 miles in them without a problem. Stain resistant and no scuffs so far. There is enough room in the boots to add a Spenco foam insole for greater padding- always a plus. Even with said insole in place, I can wear medium socks without feeling tight.

Was looking for a slimmer ankle boot to wear with leggings, and found these. Comfortable enough to wear all day (although not as comfortable as my Sorel Lea Wedges) and good traction for the cold/light snow we've had.

These are a sturdy winter leather ankle boot. They run large. I ordered these in brown. The color is neutral but pretty. These could be worn with pants, dresses or skirts. The heel is just the right height. High enough to be flattering without being so high that they can't be worn for long periods. Comfortable right out of the box.

Agreed with the slight toughness to get on...I think they will loosen up with wear as the leather stretches. I was looking for something with a rubber sole as I live in adverse conditions most of the winter- but that would be great with pants or leggings. I am stoked! I have a size 7 lightly narrow foot and they are snug but fit perfectly. NIce looking boot that I can be comfortable in yet dress up in as well.

Runs a little tight for my feet. I ordered an 8 which I normally take but I have arthritis in both feet. I will be ordering in a 8.5. Very cute boot and love the style. They feel comfortable and I'm hoping the 8.5 will better. It was a little hard to get on in the beginning because I have a high instep but when I tried it again it when on fine.

Super cute! No arch support, but roomie enough for inserts. I have wide toes, these are a bit snug in the toe, but not uncomfortable.

This ankle boot is very stylish! It goes well with trousers, jeans, dresses... basically, it goes well with just about anything. The leather feels very substantial, and it's not so warm that you will be limited to wearing it just part of the year. It is definitely difficult to get on the first few times--I have found greatest success in kind of wiggling my foot as I put it on and being especially sure to be sitting down on a chair to get at a more favorable angle of approach. Once it's on, however, you will be totally set, as it fits very securely even when running. The heel, while nice and sturdy, feels higher than it actually is, so I don't know that I would necessarily recommend this boot for walking around in all day (although I have done so a few times, so it's definitely possible); there's not a large amount of padding at the ball of the foot, so if you do lots of walking you will probably be a bit stiff at the end of the day, if not a little sore. I'd say the shoe runs a tiny bit on the smaller side. I ordered a 9, which is my usual size, and it's definitely on the snug side by the end of the day. If you are sensitive to shoe pressure I would consider going up half a size.

First pair of booties I've purchased. I wasn't sure if they would be my style but they are great to help get more use out of some spring/fall dresses without wearing tall boots which just feel a bit less work appropriate in my work environment. They were very comfortable and the heel adds just enough of a boost without being too tall appearance or comfort wise. Typically I wear a 6.5 or 7, typically on the small end of a 7. When I tried them on with thin socks I considered sizing down to a 6 1/2 but in order to wear them with some low wool socks I had to stuck with a 7. This won't be ideal when wearing tights but I can wear a low sock with tights to get a little less wobbling.

Came back for the black! Already have the brown (a rich, nutty brown). These are so comfortable I wear them now without socks. Yes, they are a little narrow at the opening but I have tried with a light pair of wool socks and after a short struggle, the fit is very cozy and winter-friendly. Bottom line: I would be happy to wear these day in and day out until .... sandal season!

Boot is very cute color is great but I wear a 8 1/2 and could not even get the boot on. with the buckle on the back there is no give.
