Very warm, perfect for Michigan winters! I am 5'10 and 157 lbs and wear a medium.

Warmest coat I've ever purchased. Keeps me toasty in the northeastern winters.

I've been looking for an everyday, cold weather jacket. This is great for walking the dog in freezing temps, and shoveling snow. I can wear a hoodie underneath with no problem. A medium is fine for 5'8", 130lbs wearing a sweater. My only complaint would be the fake fur, awful. I took it off immediately. I love the innercollar. It's soft and pulls close to help hold the hood tight around my neck. The handwarmer pockets are lined with flannel, nice touch! Lower pockets are big enough to hold gloves. Lots of touches make this a great purchase!

Color is gray and NOT BLACK. But I like it this way better. Warm and amazing pockets.

I'm about 5'4 115 lbs. I ordered this coat as a second choice because my Columbia Mighty Lite didn't work out and I'm happy I did! This coat is amazing! It protects you from high winds; the two way zipper is helpful while driving so you don't feel stuck and don't have to take your coat off or unzip it completely. The outside pockets are deep and the interior pocket is perfect to store bank cards in. The color (dusty purple) is the icing on the cake.

I purchased this jacket for my trip to Iceland, and it was absolutely perfect. I was comfortable, even with layers. It was warm but not hot or bulky. It's also very flattering. Withstood strong winds, sleet and snow - the hood was perfect. Love this jacket.

I bought this coat for a few reasons: 1) it falls about mid thigh/just above knee for me, which is important for warmth when I'm outside for a long amount of time 2) it has a fur-lined hood which I really like (again, helps with extreme cold) 3) has an inside pocket for phone/keys/etc., 4) wasn't as rigid as a parka which can be ok for standing but uncomfortable for moving around a lot, or being in a seated position. I really found the jacket to fit well, be of quality materials, and the fact that it's machine washable (no dry cleaning necessary) makes is a great find. It's true the "black" color is definitely not black. It's grey. But it seems that way in the photo too, so don't be surprised if you order it and a grey coat comes to your door! It's worth it, the cut is flattering yet still not super tight. I am 5'2" and 115lbs, athletic body and the small was good. I tried on the XS but would definitely only be able to zip it if I was wearing a t-shirt. Anything else (sweater/vest, etc.) would make it impossible to zip. I've had the Marmot Montreal coat and this is definitely comparable in warmth and style. Very happy.

This coat is great! I was skeptical at first because it seemed lighter than I was expecting. It is very warm, I just wish it was a bit longer! I have received several compliments on it and am happy with this purchase!

I already wrote a very positive review. I've noticed 2 things I'd change. 1) Put a hanger loop inside at the neck; 2) I'd like snaps or velcro so I can close the coat partially without using the long zipper. That would be helpful when just dashing outside for a few minutes.

I just bought this coat yesterday as I needed something to keep me warm while standing for over 3 hours outside at night on the Portland waterfront (volunteering at winter art festival). I was toasty warm the whole time, and the coat performed well in light rain. I got the India Ink color, which I would describe as charcoal gray. It has a nice blue-gray lining (Omni-Heat lining also cool blue-silver color). The fur trim on mine is actually more white with brown tips, which I prefer, and removable - a good option if you're going to be out in light rain for long. I'm 5'5" and found the small fit well, plenty of room to move my arms but not too bulky. Pockets just above waistline were perfect for keeping my hands tucked in and warm. Overall has a casual, urban look which I find more appealing than an obviously down coat.

I ordered the black, it is not black it's a slate grey. Awesome warm jacket. Covers the bum which is what I wanted.

I wish I had ordered a large instead of x-large I'm in between sizes right now and hopefully Going down-next year I'll have to wear big sweaters under it and really be warm.

I am in LOVE with this jacket. No, the black is no where near the color black. It is actually a medium gray color with white/tan fur on the hood. Which I don't mind at all! My only warning is this jacket does run big. I am 5'7 130 pounds & the small was way too big on me. I exchanged for XS & it fits perfectly!

AMAZING!!I bought a med....I am 5'8" and 125 lbs and usually wear a med. I love this coat, it's not only really pretty it is warm for those really cold days when I have to walk a long distance. I love the length too, it fall perfectly mid length and it was just what I was looking for. I can also wear a thermal zip underneath if need be with plenty of room. I bought the purple. This is the second Columbia Jacket I have owned and am always very satisfied with the quality and how long the last wash after wash!!

So, let me start by saying I'm a die hard The North Face customer. I couldn't find a decently priced jacket there that has the quality of this jacket I purchased from Columbia. This jacket is true to size, for reference: I'm 5'2",112 lbs and ordered an XS in black. It didn't come as black at all, it's more of a heather grey which is totally fine for me so I won't be returning. You have full arm function in this jacket and don't feel restricted. The fur is removable which I like. The cuffs are perfect and won't let cold air up your sleeves, it's a good length, and the hood provides perfect coverage of your head. Overall, I definitely recommend! (The North Face version of this jacket is double the price) Choose this one!!

I love this coat! It's an extremely warm coat, due to the omni heat technology. I can't wear it in my car I get too hot. I love the style it's a great coat. It checks all the boxes you need for a Northwest fall and winter, water resistant and warm.

Would be 5 stars and "Excellent" if it weren't for the faux fur trim around the hood (which looks great). The fur is removable (also great) and attached with buttons - BUT the spacing of the buttons and the button holes is "off" at one end, causing it to OFTEN come unbuttoned. When that happens, the end of the fur sticks out awkwardly, obviously, and annoyingly. I use an ugly & obvious safety pin to keep it attached.

I bought this jacket for my daughter as a birthday present. She was always buying second hand jackets and so I decided to surprise her with a new one. She absolutely loved it, with the exception of the problematic zipper. Columbia should probably redesign this part of the coat as there have been times my daughter got so frustrated at the zipper that she wanted to return the coat. I would recommend the coat for warmth and style, however the zipper is a problem.

Im 5'5" and weigh 150. Ordered a medium and it fits large. Definitely have room to wear layers underneath. I love the material. Ordered the green color and absolutely love it!!

This jacket is so warm! I’m from Texas and visiting the northern states in mid January was scaring me. I love this jacket, however the ‘black’ is very blue. Almost a navy blue. Pretty disappointed in that but overall a very comfy coat.

This jacket is super flattering and I love the color and the way it fits. Unfortunately I'm not a fan of the bright orange liner. Going back to the photos I realized that it's not that noticeable (except in the last pic) because the model has the jacket zipped all the way up. I won't be wearing the jacket zipped up that high very often so the orange will be really obvious. I feel like that color immediately makes the jacket more casual. It would be so bad if just the liner were orange, but it's the whole collar too. Bummer.

This coat is super cute. Runs a little large, but fits well.

Not sure if I'm going to keep this. It's warm & not nerdy like most of the high tech jackets are. Wish it had the front hand pockets on the chest rather than waist & that it had the option to snug it to give it a waist. Between those 2 things, it does look a bit like maternity wear. Also, I'm wondering how sturdy the shell fabric is relative to the inevitable things that jackets can get caught on.
