I am thrilled to have this jacket as a supplement to my heavy coat. It is lightweight but more important, it allows mobility that heavy jackets don't. I can wear it comfortably in the car on cold mornings zipped up while the car warms up. I have taken hikes when the temp is in the 20s and been comfortable. Went out one morning in the jacket when the wind chill was in the single digits. The only time I felt I needed more layers.

It is definitely a warm jacket, and happy to see a jacket that cones in bigger sizes. My only complaint is the quality just one week of use and already have feathers coming out.

Loved the coat but it was a little to large. Had to return it. Sad.

Light, well made and warm. I sized up for layer room as I intended to take it into the 0F range. So I can't comment on the standard fit. I found it warm over standard clothing with light activity down to the high 40F range. Any further and It needed layers. I pair it with the ridge repeat fleece and a merino base for colder temps. con- nothing notable suggestions for Columbia- lighter pocket zippers. higher down fp 800+ would extend the range and keep it lighter

I read the reviews on the TALL and BIG sized Voodoo jackets. Can't say I agree with either of them. I've been wearing my jacket in 0 "feels like -14" weather and have been warm. The jacket knocks down the wind too. I walk about a half mile to work and while my glasses freeze the bridge of my nose, everything the jacket covers is warm. I will agree with the one review of the Big size that the down comes out of the jacket. I'm not sure if they have ever owned a down jacket like these though. I have owned four, all different brands and they all of them had some down work it's way through the fabric. This happens to the down pillows I have on my couch too meaning it has nothing to do with the fabric or its thickness. I'm 6'4" tall, 36" arm and 52" chest. I ordered a 2XT and the jacket does fit big around the neck and core just fyi.

I have only had my new coat for a few days but it's definitely the warmest/lightest coat I've ever had. The only problem is that feathers are constantly coming out of it.

I am 6'4", 185lbs, with 37" sleeves. I purchased a Large Tall. Sleeves were long enough (Yay!) But coat was not warm enough for MI fall , winter weather. I need something with 800-900 down fill , not 550, in a Large Tall size. I am not sold on the astronaut suit interior lining that is supposed to reflect your body heat back onto you. When I wear short sleeves (all the time) this reflective lining material is cool/cold when it touches my skin, not what I want in a down coat. My other down coats with nylon or fleece interior lining do not have this cold to the touch feel. This reflective lining did not seem to keep me any warmer either.

This jacket is too thin. My husband is tall but very lean and this does not keep him warm. Although, this is a nice looking windbreaker.

This jacket sounds good in theory, but turns out to be complete waste. The good parts are jacket is light and not restrictive. However that's where the good ends. Functionality: - not warm at all, at least not for north east. I don't get cold that easily, but this jacket is not really good for below 40 degrees. - the sleeves have a non-adjustable opening that's made with an elastic material that is too big in it's relaxed state leaving a hole around your wrist. The biggest issue with the jacket is quality. - There are feathers coming out of it everywhere and not just at the seams, the feathers actually making it through the outer shell. - there are threads getting pulled out of everywhere. I keep cutting them off, but more show up. - the collar doesn't seem to have any insulation in it at all, making it fairly useless. Now I don't know if that's by design, or again quality of how it was made, but the fact remains that the collar is not useful.

This jacket has little if any down in it. It will not keep you warm in cold climate. You would need another outer layer.

I really want to like this coat but under windy conditions, even when augmented with a fleece, the coat is not effective. Walking into the wind cold air enters the coat thru the neck, from the bottom and thru the zipped zipper. What is true, on calm days the coat will be warm down to 0 degrees. Went to the beach at 20 degrees with 5-10 mph wind gusts and I was very cold. One odd thing is Columbia said the coat ran large. I found and arms and shoulders fit perfectly, but the circumference of the body and neck were large.
