Really disappointed--have been wearing Kahanas for years as a general running and every day shoe, but these are longer and narrower. Have to return them because my toes feel SQUISHED! The design is slightly different and just not going to work for me.

Had the previous shoe in this style, in fact I liked them so much I bought two pairs. However, for some reason, Aspics changes the fit with each new release, and these did not fit at all! The shoe is narrower, and the arch seemed to be farther back, toward the heel. So there began the long search for a comfortable, cushioned shoe. Found it in Brooks Ghost 9GTX. Stop changing the fit of these styles, Asics! Who has the time to try every shoe in your line to find the one that fits this year?

I have heel spurs and Plantars Fascitis, and these shoes are great to help with both of those problems. My orthotics fit in them perfectly, and allows me to be on my feet for 12 hours a day.

Disappointed in this shoe, I have an old pair of Kahana style shoes and love how they fit. I have numerous Asics all in size 9, fit perfect. This pair also purchased in size 9 felt small in the toebox and tight overall even after loosening the laces ALOT. May try a half size up or a different style; loss of consistency in sizing, hopefully not a sign of loss of quality with Asics.

I am a 9 1/2 and that it what I purchased. They fit me perfectly! No break in period at all. Aggressive enough to hike in but I also do all my outdoor workouts in them. Insole pops out and my orthotics fit just fine. Hoping I can buy another pair as I’ve finally just about worn them out!

Ordered these for two reasons....1 - LOVE Asics and 2 - needed trail running shoes! These should far exceeded my expectation! Comfortable from the moment I put them on, zero 'break in' time required and they have great grip when summiting elevation. Very pleased with this purchase and price! Thank you Asics & Zappos!

Love these sneakers. They seem to run smaller in the toe box than previous models (I have the Kahana 6 and it was wider in the tox box).

I love the ASICS Gel-Kahana and have been wearing this style for years. I live near great hiking trails and these shoes are perfect for on and off road! This new version "8" is too marrow for my average size foot and there's no option to order wide. There are so many things I love about this shoe; unfortunately, the new narrow design may keep me from continuing to buy this shoe.

The Kahana 8 is narrower than the Kahana 7. With the Kahana 7 I ordered 1/2 size up from my normal street size. For the Kahana 8 I had to order a full size up from my street size. I run around 20 miles a week and like to hike as well. To be honest, I'm going to send these back. I have narrow feet, but these are just a tad too narrow and feel uncomfortable in the arch area. They are hitting the inside of the arch and causing some pain. I have struggled with plantar fasciitis for the past year and the Kahana 7 allowed me to begin running and hiking again with a minimal amount of pain. I have narrow feet and overpronate, but have tried to stop relying on maximum motion control shoes and let my feet and ankles get stronger so that I can use the muscles and tendons I have without pain. I decided to switch to the Asics Kayano instead. It is not a trail shoe, but it seems a bit wider in the forefoot than the Kahana while offering some amount of stability and cushioning. It also runs short, so I ordered a full size up from my street shoe size. I would say that if you have a wide foot you might try a different trail shoe, as these may not work for you.

Super comfy and great for high impact workouts.

This is my third pair of this exact sneaker over the last couple of years. I wear them for my daily walk which is at least 4 miles. I did have to exchange this pair for a half a size larger than my other ones, but they're great, wore them right out of the box. ONLY complaint is that the laces are too short. Another two inches is needed. Otherwise I love them!

Wore them today for my first work out. Great fit and feel right out of the box- just like my last pair that I've had for 5 years.

I’ve been wearing ASICS for years and these did not disappoint. The arch support was good and the toe box nice and roomy. It felt like these had a little extra heel padding which was nice. I’m a runner, not high mileage (6-10 miles per week) and these are perfect for me. I would definitely recommend them.

Comfort right out of the box after adding my own plantar fasciitis insoles. Walked five miles the first day with no blisters or rubbing. Stiff shoe, but it works for me and has plenty of stability. I walk 40+ miles every week in them.

This is probably my 4th pair of Gel-Kahana 8. I like to stick with what works. These arrived quickly and they feel perfect. I haven’t had any of the problems with fit that others have had. Maybe lucky. I walk 5-6 miles, 4 times a week and I wear size 12 in running shoes. I always have to just order a bunch of shoes and try them on at home, because so few places carry women’s 12. SO love Zappos for simplifying my life.

This is my second pair. My feet are just a little narrow and have a high arch, these are great. I wear them all day, so comfortable I don't kick them off when I get home. They feel stiff at first, but just walk around a bit and you will love the support. At first wasn't sure about the colors, but they go w/ everything and don't show dirt. I'm in Texas and they aren't too warm in the summer--they breath well.

This is the 4th pair of these I’ve had and they are great! I need a shoe that’s more firm in the support and these deliver.

I'm obsessed with my new sneakers! There was no breaking-in period; the first time I wore them, I felt as if I was walking on clouds. I had previously owned a different model of ASICS sneaker (Gel-Contend), which I'd liked, so I went for ASICS again. I had been concerned about the reviews saying this shoe was narrow in the toes, but it feels perfectly comfortable and roomy to me. (I wear a women's size 12 and my feet are medium width, maybe erring toward the narrow side. But I experienced no pinching at all.) Also, I LOVE the look of the shoes. And the slight ridging in the laces not only looks cool but keeps me from having to tie double knots, which I ALWAYS have to do. Five stars!

This shoe is perfect for my foot. Great support , true to size and width, lightweight and breathable. I walk 7-8 miles daily and this shoe is my go to walking shoe.

I only really ever buy ASICS. And these sneakers are just fine. I just wish they would put better, and more comfortable insoles in their shoes. Ever time I buy ASICS, I have to take out the cheap thin insoles with better ones I have to buy. Why can’t a shoe company just have comfortable insoles you don’t have to replace?

the gel-kahana has been my go to sneaker for years. this latest version just isn't doing it for me though. it is much snugger and a little shorter in the toe. the gel-kahana 7 was great (the gel-kahana 4 was nearly perfect). they've just been getting tighter and shorter in the same size as the years have gone on. just disappointing.
