Felt true to size. Got the medium width, my foot IS a bit narrow, flat footed, and the fit is perfect. I got them for light hiking. I absolutely love them. They are very comfortable, very supportive, and I love the grey/yellow combo together. Seriously the best trail shoes I can remember having. Thinking about buying the exact same pair to have after these wear out.

These shoes are great for the money. They fit well and I really like the colors. Since I wear a lot of pink I wanted a shoe that would match what I wear, but not look obnoxious. These shoes look and feel great!!

I had ordered a size 11 1/2 which was a tad short and too tight. The 12 fits perfect. My only disappointment was when I went to go order another pair there were none in my size :( I had a similar pair which is the best support for my foot. I need the stability that this shoe provides.

Awesome shoe. The sole of shoe online looked shallow and less than desired with hiking. I took a change and they are deeper than picture. I need the traction. And what a great price! I love the gray as they don't look too bad when they have soil all over them. Also I love Asics.

These felt a little heavier than others that I tried on, but I was okay with that because it felt more durable and would be able to carry me up and down hills on pavement and or other surfaces like dirt or gravel.

Shoes are great, very comfortable. Zappos is awesome, 2nd to none!

I have been wearing ASICS for years and always buy a full size up, most likely because I wear a thick compression sock. In any case, these shoes are very comfortable and I find the balance and amount of arch support to be perfect. You can remove the insole if you want to add an orthotic, which is also handy. I am not a long distance runner, and wear these mostly indoors at the gym or on 3 mile walks in my neighborhood.

The Gel-Kahana 8 is everything I was looking for in a gym shoe. It's keeping my foot stable and comfortable as I lunge, jump, squat, run and walk. In the past I have had to replace the removeable insoles with Spenco inserts for arch support, but thus far, the insoles that came with these shoes have been working out well. I do have to push a bit to get my foot into the shoe because the insole material is a bit fuzzy and prevents an easy slide. (Still in the "breaking in" period.)

My second pair of Gel-Kahana. Wear an 8 but ordered a 9 because my foot is so wide and these do not come in wide. Very comfortable. I am a nurse on my feet all day and my feet never hurt at the end of a shift. Because my foot is so wide, the shoestring is short. So I weaved the shoestring through the cross strings on the top of the shoe and now I have a slip-on that I love.

Love these shoes: the traction, support, attractiveness, and function are all five stars. Have had two earlier incarnations of the Gel-Kahana and loved them too. Other reviews had stated changes in the fit/design, but I didn't notice any pronounced changes. These shoes fit well, offer stability and support for overpronation, and continue to be offered in both trendy and normal colors. I use them for both running and walking/everyday activities. I would only make two suggestions to ASICS: 1) Stop shortening the laces with every new release of running shoes. It is ridiculous how difficult it is to tie these with a simple lacing modification or double knot. Add back in those two inches you removed--it makes all the difference. 2) Return the rear pull tab loop to an upright configuration, higher on the shoe. The loop is unusable to me how/where it is located now. I recommend these shoes to any serious runner or person needing a quality sneaker and hope they are available for years to come!

I really like the support for my overpronation and how strong and bouncy they feel under my feet. I’m a hairstylist who works 10-hour days and I need to be propped up!

My mother in law raves over them. She was happy with the fit and the color. I like the color scheme so much I might purchase for myself.

This shoe has the classic Asics fit, if you are familiar with that. That means that it's slightly small in the toe box for me, but since Adidas decided to change the profile of all their shoes, I'm having trouble finding a trail runner with a nice wide toe box and narrow heel. Anyway, the fit is as expected. What's great about these shoes is that they are true trail runners, with good rock protection and a substantial sole. None of this slipper-like shoe silliness. I'm grateful Asics is maintaining at least one model for those of us who run on rocky trails.

I have scoliosis and because of that, my hips are uneven and I put a lot of pressure on my left foot which has led to an arch collapse. I over pronate on both my feet but more so my left ankle. I experience a lot of pain in my left ankle, knee, and hip. Without inserts from either Protalus or Superfeet, these shoes would not be supportive enough, but since I have replaced the inner soles with Protalus inserts, these shoes have had almost therapeutic effect on my legs. I do not have pain at the end of the day when doing long walks. With the inserts, they keep my ankle from turning inward. These shoes weren’t made for driving long distances especially 5 hours of driving. My heels start to burn. The only complaint I have about these shoes is that they’re ugly and I wish they were more stylish. But for the price and the comfort they provide, they are worth it.

I have worn several generations of Asics Gel Kahana shoes. The Gel Kahana 8 does run narrower and shorter than previous models. I ordered a half size up this time, based on reviews, and I am very happy with the fit.

This shoe is very stiff and a tiny bit narrow but I think will break in well over time. I've gotten so tired of athletic shoes going flat after a couple of months that I purposely shopped for a more sturdy shoe and found it in these Kahanas.

FINALLY an Asics shoe that runs true to size! Wearing a size 12 means I cannot "size up" to account for most Asics running short, so these are a great find for me. I like the look and the fun colors, and the support and stability are what I need. My foot is just a bit on the narrow side so it's as though these were custom-made for my feet, and I am very happy with them.

Perfect! I started wearing Asics Gel-Kahana years ago (4 series) - bought several pairs. Over the years I've purchased 6 and 7 and was not happy with the changes made. Happy to say that these 8s are much better in my opinion. Thanks Asics! Keep 'em coming.

I’ve been looking for a good trail shoe for a while and after returning a couple, this show turned out to be the perfect one! Stylish colors, comfortable and a nice sturdy trail shoe.
