Purchased these to replace an older pair of Gel-Cumulus 16. These are slightly narrower in the toe box than the Cumulus and perhaps a hair smaller overall, but otherwise nearly as comfortable. I love the sleek and understated style.

I have been using this shoe for the last 3 months. Generally, I wear the shoe for walking or working out at the gym. They are comfortable and have sufficient support. They are not highly fashionable, but they are quality, and the price is right!

Good shoe for the money, I have flat feet and shoe seemed to run out of shoelace.

I purchased these shoes for my husband as a Christmas gift. He says they are the most comfortable shoes he has ever owned!

Zappos were very helpful and I got my shoes very quickly.

I understand that there is no universal standard for a width of 4E, but I have a few other ASICS that fit well at the 4E width. This particular style is so narrow that I couldn't even flatten out my foot once it was in the shoe, even with the laces completely loosened. Love ASICS but be warned that this style is really narrow in the 4E.

These shoes are fine. Especially at the reduced [rice. Honestly, nothing special. Honestly, they are worth the discounted price.

Returned the next day.Wore then inside for a few hours, still too narrow. Wide was not available. Bought Brooks instead.

My son found the Excite 4E uncomfortably narrower than the Gel-Venture.

I purchased 2 pair of Gel Excite 4 in the past few months. My blue ones fit beautifully so when my old carbon ones needed replacement, I purchased a 2nd pair ( actually a third, because i bought same ones last year...) The new carbon ones feel like slippers & do not support my feet the way all my other many Asics purchased from Zappo have. Socks & orthotics do not help. I threw away the box: can I still retuirn them?

I've been wearing Asics for at least 5 years and have found them one of the most comfortable running shoes available. After all, they MUST be comfortable because in general, Asics are consistently one of the ugliest shoes made. I have fat feet, so they're numerous 4E options are a nice positive. However, these Gel-Excite 4's had a noticeably less-cushioned sole than my outgoing pair of T52AK's. Also, there was almost no arch support. I have fairly flat arches from 35 years of playing basketball, so I don't want much arch support, but these felt more like basketball shoes (with little or no arch support) than running shoes. Fit was fine/consistent with previous pair, but I know they would likely cause foot pain/aches for my aging feet, so I returned them before wearing them outside. Maybe my review is unfair because I only jogged on our treadmill for about 10 minutes before deciding they're a no-go, but I think it will be well worth it to get a more expensive pair with better cushioning.

Too narrow

I thought a size 13 Asics was a size 13 Asics...WRONG. As a few of the reviewers noted, this shoe definitely runs small. I've been wearing Asics Kahana, and Excite for as long as I can remember and love them, so I returned these and purchased a pair of Kahana size 13. I know they'll fit.

The shoe fits fine, but at the tip of each shoe the rubber is separating from the body of the shoe. The glue or adhesive is not holding up

The soles were quite thin, I felt little cushioning. So much for gel inserts.
