IMO the Beast is back. I was not a fan of the '14 model, but these have brought me back. They are true to size and stable as can be. Only constant complaint is the cost, but that is not new for the Beast.

Me: I have medium to high arches and foot roles inward towards ankles ( over pronation ). I walk minimum of 60 miles per month, average 100 miles, max 150-200 miles. a. minimum of 3 miles per day typically first thing in morning. b. typically 6 miles a day : 3 miles morning & evening Since getting Beast 14s & 16s; the past few weeks I’ve easily been walking 5.5 to 7 miles in one session five days a week. Quick Summary: Beast 14s & Beast 16s do not fit nor feel same: Normally I wear 12.0 D in all other shoes Beast 14s I wear 12.5 D Beast 16s I wear 13.0 D Pros: a. Superb Cushioning. b. Excellent Arch support. c. Excellent Motion Control ( over pronation ) ankle roles inward. Cons: Heel Box isn’t very snug Toe Box is a bit cramped. Costs: Beast 16’s are expensive, much more than I’ve ever paid for a running shoe before. Beast 14’s are on sale since Beast 16s have come out and are reasonably priced. Fit & Feel: Feet feel great in Beast 14s. Love this shoe, no complaints. Beast 16s has lot more cushion and better arch support than Beast 14s. Beast 16s feel really good, much, much better than Beast 14s in arch support, motion control, cushioning. Beast 16s also feel better than Beast 14s in landing and transitions from heel to toe. The Beast 16s feel so comfortable, like walking with pillows on your feet, but not too squishy… I’d go as far to say, Beast 16s are much better shoe than Beast 14s “ if “ they “ fit “ perfectly and are “ completely “ comfortable to “ your “ feet.

Great shoe with perfect support for a big person. It’s the perfect shoe for power walking and jogging.

I usually wear the NB 993 or Asics Kayano. After some knee injuries, I no longer run as much. I was looking for a shoe with extra cushioning and overpronation support. The insoles on these shoes are thick. I feel like I'm walking on a plush carpet. These do run narrow. I usually wear a size lower, but ordered one size up to give myself enough space in the toe box. If you are looking for a running shoe, ordering a size up may not be ideal. I don't mind if my toes move around a bit, but it may not be what you want for long runs. I use these shoes at the gym and as my go-to-weekend shoes. In sum, the Brooks Beast meets my needs, and I will likely buy another pair. The Beast '18 are a bit more expensive, so I'm happy that Zappos carries the Beast '16.

I am a walker not a runner. I walk 4-5 miles in the morning and an additional 2-3 miles in the evening. I find these shoes to be supportive and comfortable. They might be a half size on the short end for my size 14 feet. If I were a runner maybe they might be a bit stiff and heavy compared to other running shoes. I go through a pair a shoes every 3 months and after discovering Brooks I have been a continual repeat customer. I have worn a lot of shoes in my day and have yet to find a shoe that fits me as good, is high quality and provides me the consistent comfort as Brooks. Typically, I order the Brooks Addiction which are quite comfortable. I ordered these since they were "on sale" and I am very satisfied with my purchase. I also know when ordering from Zappos that if there are any problems they can be fixed by an easy return.

Quality seems to have gone down from prior years. Internal lining is ripping and fraying.

Very comfortable shoe for those needing arch support. A little heavy and not the most stylish shoe buts it’s helped me run more efficiently and more comfortably. This is my third pair, I just keep replacing when they wear out.

I've been wearing this shoe for many years. The price has risen but the quality has gone down. My next to last pair had the laces tear through the shoelace hole after a year. The pair before that had the same problem after a couple of months. I am looking for an alternative but haven't found it yet. Any suggestions are welcome. It's too expensive a shoe to have these issues.

This is my go to running shoe. Every time I try to switch to a less expensive shoe, I end up with problems. This version (Beast '16) runs a little smaller than previous versions in my opinion. I wear a 4E width and have not had any issues, as it seems true to width. It is frustrating that these shoes are so expensive.

It's a good shoe, not my favorite as far as style goes. The previous gens have better options for color and the combos looked better. It can handle my intense workouts and keeps my feet happy on the pavement. I hope they revamp the style soon.

There is no color to this shoe. Need a choice in a Beast with more colors..

Been wearing the Beast for many years now. Great sneaker for a flat foot like myself. This pair is nice but i returned because they didn't have a 13EE. Standard 13 was just too narrow.

This is the second pair I have bought and I absolutely love them! Very comfortable, and I like the style. Only problem I had was I wear a EE wide shoes and had to exchange for a 4E wide pair, which with the no hassle exchange Zappos has the exchange was a breeze. I seen in other comments that the length of the shoe was an issue but I wear a 13 and have had no problem with the size issue they have stated.It's Brooks or bust for this guy from now on!!

I'm not one to write reviews but felt I needed to put in my two cents. I purchased 12EE Beast and think they are wonderful. I have been a beast fan for years. I have had Plantar Fasciitis in the past. My feet are absolutely flat as a pancake. It is very uncomfortable for me to walk at all without shoes on. I weigh 240 lbs. these shoes are the best I've ever owned. They fit my foot perfectly. For me they are a new lease on life. I now can walk with no problems or pain. They are absolutely therapudic. Anyone with bad feet and need a shoe with great support should try this.

Have bought numerous Beasts over the years and this one seems a little less supportive through the upper portion than the previous Beast '14. I insert custom orthotics in them and they fit nicely; due to these orthotics I have to get an EE size. The toe box has plenty of room just like the old Beast models. Still the best walking shoe I have discovered to date. Since I'm an old person I could do without all the colors involved - just plain black would be nice.

The biggest problem I had with the shoe was every pair has a narrow left and a wider right. If you get lucky it would be the other way. My biggest disappointment was, I lost the arch in a little more then a month. They became wider as time went on which led to blisters.

I read several of the negative reviews of the shoe, but bought it anyhow. The reviews were right. I even ordered a size larger than normal (14 vs 13), but it was very tight and uncomfortable. In terms of size, the 14 looked exactly like my 13. I've worn Brooks for over 20 years, but I can't wear this shoe.

Purchased these in August, it is now 1st. of October and the toe stitching is already coming apart. The shoes look new and have not been abused. Disappointing quality of build.

I have the Brooks Beast 14 (I believe). The side mesh wears out fairly quickly, and I use them just for walking --- no vigorous sports of any type. Ed Campana

Wish I could give the shoe an accurate review, but Zappo's sent the wrong size. Ordered 4E, they sent D.

This is the 5th pair of Brooks Beast I have worn. Unfortunatly this pair, same size/width, as previous pairs and they are definitly not quite as wide and just a bit shorter. The Brooks Beast 16 is comfortable so to this point I decided to keep them. However, this is my 3rd pair of Brooks that the stitching on the left shoe at the top of the toe has begun to come loose. I wish I could post a picture for clarity. The stitching is not torn but just simply seems to pop up. I'm certain it is nothing I do, but very strange that 3 out of 6 pair of Brooks have done the same thing. If additional stitching comes up I will request a replacement, but do not think it will be a pair of Brooks...sadly.....

I have worn Brooks Beast for the last 10+ years, buying at least one pair a year, if not two. I love these shoes! However, I cannot wear the 2016 version. Two reasons: 1) I opened my box and found a hand-written note in the right shoe stating "Defective feel inside toe area of right shoe - Quality has certainly dropped on Brooks". Never received a hand-written note before! So there is a defect, seems like too much material bunched up stabbing into a toe. Not sure why the shoe was even sent! The second issue is really not Brooks fault, but the highest point where the laces go near the ankle digs into my ankle right at my incision/injury site where I had ankle surgery, and is uncomfortable. I'll be looking for any 2014 versions that may be out there. Still a comfortable fit/feel otherwise. Disappointed that my run with the Beasts may be coming to a close.

I bought a pair of the Beast 14's for my son because they were recommended for big guys and flat feet, both of which he is and has. For the first time in a very long time, his feet were comfortable all day and well supported. My only complaint about the shoe is that for the amount paid, I expected them to last longer than 5 months, but they are barely covering his feet anymore. I will get more because they are the only tennis shoes that we have found his feet feel good in while wearing, but it would be wonderful if they could last a year or more!

The shoe seemed to compensate for my fallen arch too much. By doing this it made the width feel uncomfortable on the insole. Also the shoe does not provide much cushioning, which I prefer vs the arch support.

Been wearing this shoe style for years and when ordering this time, the shoes no longer fit!! Small in the toe box, really disappointed because this has been a great shoe for me.
