I purchased this jacket a couple months ago along with the matching pants. I love how it looks and feels, however, I have been shocked at it's lack of durability. Within a week of purchase I already had a seam fail on one of the chest pockets as well as a small wear/tear on the front. In fact, I have seemed to have worse luck with this set than anything else from Arc'Teryx that I own. I genuinely am less concerned about tearing my Gamma SL jacket than this. Big bummer.

I've the hoody but returned it almost straight away. The cuffs were simply way too tight. If it wasn't for this single reason, I would have kept it 100%. I hope as the product now says 'Revised" the cuff size was adjusted.

I wear a lot of clothes from Arc'teryx and consider it the best. But in this jacket the truth that has disappointed me and much, is breaking and not by wear but by failures in the seams on the skirts. Anyway, it is probably a failure or some manufacturing and I will continue to wear Arc'teryx clothing which has given me many joys.

Alles in allem zu teuer. Kein verstellbarer Bund am Handgelenk. Wann gibt es endlich die Wahl mit oder ohne helmtaugliche Kapuze?

This jacket is ridiculously short (especially at the front)!!! It cannot be used in skiing, mountaineering, cycling or any activities where you have to stretch or lift your arms - the jacket pulls up to the waistline. Otherwise it is of top quality. But the the cut eliminates it from real outdoor use. It is much shorter than Gamma LT or Squamish - I don't really get why :|

A very nice jacket, obviously you'd expect that at this price. Fits extremely well, better than anything else I have tried. 50kg, 168cm = XS. Very good at keeping the wind out and dealing with light rain, perfect for the UK. Negative: I've only had the jacket for 2 weeks and some of the stitching is starting to come out. Probably not worth sending it back yet but I'll keep my eye on it. Would have expected better. Awkward to modify hood to work straight on head.

Sadly this jacket failed like two others we have: the hem delaminated and was patched up by Arcteryx using ugly stitching. Switching to Patagonia for better customer care

This jacket is great for rain repelling. But, you really have to layer up if you want to stay warm in any wind. Wind goes right through it. I hate to say it but the "trendy" North Face Apex Bionic is 100% better at being wind proof.

Recently I bought this soft-shell. My first soft-shell !!! I live in The Netherlands in the part wich is called Flevoland. One of the windiest parts of Holland. When I went for a, two hour, test walk the weather was typically Dutch for December. Wind about 33.5mph/15meters per second (with stronger gusts), humidity 90%, 46F/8C and some rain/hail showers. Under the shell I wore a Capilene 3 Midweight Zip-Neck. (This is sufficient when I wear my Nano Puff Pullover over it). I was so cold, no matter how fast I was walking I could not get warm. I felt the wind blowing through, the Gamma MX hoody, all the time. I felt every gust of wind as, 'cold' from the direction the wind was coming from. The water-resistance is sufficient. So, I was happy, I was not hiking in the Alps under the same conditions. This is what I do not need in my back-pack because it is not functional and weights too much (686 g / 1 lb 8.2 oz), to carry it as an extra layer. I am now cured from soft-shell fairytale and will stick to the base-layer(moister wicking)/ mid-layer(isolation)/ hard-shell(water and wind proof) concept. I am so disappointed. This piece of clothing is certainly not worth the money I paid for it.

I bought this jacket believing it was a mixed weather jacket, however am sorely mistaken. It does not hold up to any wind nor sub 40 degree temperatures. And it's fits too tight (especially in chest and sleeves) for any comfortable use of an extra insulating layer. It repels only very light snow and very light rain for a short while. In medium rain, you have maybe 20 minutes. In heavy rain, you will be literally drenched (and cold if temps are below 60) on the inside (completely soaked through) within a few minutes. The jacket looks cool and that seems to be it's sole utility. It does not breath well and is heavy thus is not suited for any sort of medium to high output activities. I cannot imagine what type of outdoor activity for which I would pack this one; maybe very casual walking or easy day hiking in the fall? Unfortunately, I purchased the jacket at Christmas time, am only now discovering these flaws, and cannot return it or I certainly would. I am thoroughly disappointed in Arcteryx on this one.

I spent quite a bit of time reviewing jackets in this category to use as an all around outer layer. The jacket just doesn't perform. Wind cuts right through it and it holds no heat with base and mid layers. Pretty disappointing for the amount I spent.

Just came from the La Corde Montral store to try this nice looking jacket in size large like the rest of my jackets, had difficulty to put on and even more to take off the jacket because the sleeve openings are really too small ,if you have anything that is remotely the size of a man's hand you will have a very hard time to take this jacket off .keep clear of this frustration,Too bad for me and Arcteryx.
