Very comfortable and stylish shoe. Would have gave it 5 stars but came with a little scuff on heel, not enough to send back though. Feels very comfortable walking or running.

The shoes are great and these of the only double N narrow shoes made by any manufacturer in casual shoes. Unfortunately there were only 2 colors to choose from. Additionally there was no place my enter my name and email so that I could purchase another paiir or two when other colors came online. This means I have to continually check the new balance inventory to Determine if additional shoes were manufactured. Please create a backorder list. Excellent shoes and perfect width just enough choices..

Low cut is taking some getting used to. Aglet holes are a bit off-center and difficult to manage. Design is as good as I expected. Jury still out on comfort range as I'm 82 and breaking shoes in a few hours per day.

I have not had a chance to use these much, but the day I put them on I spent 9 hours in them and my feet were not sore at the end of the day. I am looking forward to doing some more running in them. They felt broke in as soon as I put them on.

The shoes fit and feel great. Especially after a few days of wear. The one drawback to comfort is the tongue and USA label which is oriented so that it does not flex with the top of my foot because it's interfering with the laces. I am hoping this goes away, but it's pretty noticeable.

I have a very difficult size shoe to fit (16AA) and New Balance is just about the only athletic shoe I can find in this size. The shoe is comfortable. I wish I could have gotten it in a different color but my only color choices were black or navy blue. I chose navy blue. The wife likes them too.

I have wide feet (4E) and these fit well. I like the style and feel of the 990. (I have purchased this style for many years now.) However, what I like most is how well they are made. I can count on these lasting a year (or more). After that, they may look tattered, but they still feel good and feel solid.

These sneakers are extremely comfortable. The style is very plain. Looking at the picture there is a bit of different shades of black but normal light they are all black. The exterior may easily collect dust but it’s nothing a brush can’t fix. The best part of them is that they are made right here in the USA! Keep America working. I plan on getting another pair for the summer.

Feels great on my feet. Lots of cushion. Very warm when walking outside in the cold. In the extreme cold tonight, I was pleasantly surprised how warm these shoes were. Made me walk an extra mile. Great for big men. Bought two pairs over rhe Christmas holidays. Thinking about buying a third.

Super comfortable shoe, I've had my current pair for 3 or 4 years and wear them a lot. The only problem is the sole smells like cat pee after awhile. I don't know if it's the rubber or adhesive or what. I wash them with bleach and detergent in the washing machine and the smell goes away, but returns after awhile. Other than that an excellent comfortable shoe and Made in USA.

The 990s are an excellent arch support shoe for overpronaters. This is my 4th pair and I buy a new pair each year. A running sho expert directed me to the 990s because I had a stress fracture in an arch and the 990s tend to empasize a heel strike first and then a rolling forward motion which decreases the puonding on the forward arch. These also support the inside of the arch area to decrease overpronation. They last very well as I run or power walk 2-3 miles 5-6 times a week.The toe box is wide which decreases rub on the inside of the big toe so less friction. I hope they keep making this model as they are the best at producing the assistance desribed above.

If you are a 4E you better get a 6E. These shoes are good but they run narrow. Also if you like them get 2 pair. The 6E(XX Wide) are sometimes hard to find available. 5 Stars if not running narrow.

The build quality, materials and appearance of this pair of shoes is outstanding.
The fit is very good but not great. I believe the shoes are true to size, but there was some pressure, initially, on my left big toe. It's improving with wear.
Arch support is acceptable. I little more would be great.
They are expensive. I got them for a bit less than the price shown, but I wish "Made In USA" wasn't so expensive.
I intend to buy another pair in blue.

My son needs form fitting shoes with extra stability control. He also has a wide foot and high instep. This is the only show we've found that works for him. My only complaint would be they are pricy and never go on sale so I spend a ridiculous amount of money on sneakers every year.
