While it is more expensive than other shoes, it delivers what it promises. I am a heavy guy who is trying to exercise more and need the additional protection offered by a well built, comfortable, supportive, good fitting shoe. I can tell a significant difference with my feet, ankles, shins and knees when wearing this shoe over other shoes. I will buy again and recommend it without reservation

Bought shoes for my son for Christmas...he loves it!

I've owned all the original 990s, then the 993s (which I still have), and a couple other NB models, but the 990 and now its 4th variant is in keeping with this great "Made In America" classic. This is THE SHOE for fitting into any style or use environment, dressed up or dressed down, casual or formal (depending on color of course), and work, play, and of course running. You can find more expensive, more dedicated niche shoes to boost your social ego, but you can't find a better all around top performer that yells understated class from the USA. The 990 is the best of all worlds, if quality, longevity, diversity and American values mean anything to you.

Excellent shoes - great style, fit, and comfort. I have fairly wide feet and usually purchase NB shoes in 4E. I've heard that recent 4E's are slightly narrower than before, so I decided to try the 6E. Very pleased with my choice. I hope more shoes in the future are offered at the 6E width.

Very Comfortable shoes, fit perfect, the with is to my liking, and I will recommend New Balance shoes to my family and friends.

The pair I received on a recent order was an uncomfortable 4E. I contacted New Balance and a representative recommended this selection. I have been wearing these for 3 weeks ---very happy. And, they look great!

Ordered an 11D and it was a bit small. Created a custom shoeat 11.5 (990 V3) to replace. Excellent comfort and solid support. Still waiting for credit on the return.

The USA collection are some of the best and most comfortable shoes available anywhere. From the first time you put them on you can appreciate the quality and comfort. I have been wearing these for the last 15 years and have had repeated satisfaction with every pair I have owned. One time I had need to call customer service and I am happy to say that the results were beyond my expectations. Great job New Balance.

I always have a hard time getting shoes that fit just right, I'm flat footed and shoes become very uncomfortable after a short time with them on, but this particular model the 990v4 has been a dream to own, I've had them for about 6 months, and I've taken the plunge to buy all available colorways as I need these shoes in my life always, honestly thinking about maybe even repurchasing my original colorway to keep it stashed away for the future. You can't go wrong with these.
