After a podiatrist's full xrays and exam for heel pain due to feet that have flattened over time, he prescribed wearing New Balance "900 series or higher." B width is impossible to find outside of an actual NB retailer. Zappos offered my size and width at a great price so I tried them. VERY glad I did. Heel pain gone. Most comfortable footwear I've ever owned. No break-in time needed, great right out of the box. Fit true to size. I go back to the doc tomorrow to get fitted for expensive custom orthotics for dress shoes, but when not doing business I wear these. Yesterday I ordered a second pair strictly for constant in-home wear. They will replace the shearling-lined bison moccasins I currently wear indoors. In these shoes I have never felt more sure-footed. Grippy soles even in rain and snow and ice all of which got tested last week in a major storm here. You don't roll side-to-side when walking as in other shoes. Light, look great. Should've gone to a doctor years ago. This MD fit soldiers for custom orthotics in the Vietnam war, has earned every accolade and certification there is - and he himself exclusively wears New Balance 990s. He buys every new model they come out with, wears them, and said they offer nothing better than the 990s. He also tries other brands. Believe the positive reviews - these running shoes can't be beat. Nor can Zappos. Best customer service, pricing and value anywhere, been using Zappos now for years, but also Sacks Fifth Ave, Neiman-Marcus, Cole-Haan, Amazon and others. Zappos beats them all in every factor resulting in Easiest To Deal With #1 in my experience. Fastest too.

I already had a pair of these in grey, which was all the NB store near me had when I bought them last June. I have been using them a lot running/jogging/walking 15 plus miles per week, and I think it is a good idea to replace running/jogging/walking shoes every six months or so. These are worth the price as I find them to very supportive and have not had any issues with my previous pair. I have already put some mileage on these and the "break in" period seems much shorter since I was already in a pair of these and my feet felt natural in them. I would use a thicker sock not the thinnish ones that people seem to prefer these days. I personally go with the Thorlo socks. If you feel with your finger tips under the sole insert, there is a ridge of material around the edge of the shoe that you might feel when you run with thinner socks. The first two times I went out with these I thought there was a fold in my sock or a stone in my shoe, but it was that ridge of material that I was feeling. The thicker socks took care of that for me, but it might just be because I am a clydesdale runner - you little skinny runners may not feel a thing! I love this shoe all that being said and will be ordering another pair in 6 months. Zappos is great with quick shipping, a great returns policy and customer service. And I have yet to find that they would be out of a size or color that I want - the blue version of these shoes is much cooler looking that the grey ones.

These were a replacement pair after unexpected crumbling of the midsole in the right heel on a pair I’d worn less than two months. By contrast, I still have the first pair of 990’s I bought in early 2017. Apart from understandably losing some of their support, they’ve stood up admirably. Hats off to Zappos for replacing the second pair at no charge. Hoping the midsole failure was a fluke, because this model New Balance fit/feel great on my wide feet.

Great fit !! I was wearing 1080's and I really liked those but these are much more comfortable (and cost more as well). I have a 10/4E size and it's really hard to find sneakers. Unfortunately in my size the color choices aren't great but this is my second pair and I get great support and they are very comfortable. I don't run at all but I walk a lot (about 7 miles a day) and my feet feel great. This will definitely be my go to sneakers now !!

As with my prior New Balance shoes, I order 1/2 size larger than normal shoes. The width is right on and the materials are first class. One word of caution regarding New Balance shoes, don’t waste your time or money buying the models offered for greatly reduced prices from discount outlets. They are not the same quality as those made in the United States and offered by Zappos. I made the mistake one time, wore them on my normal four mile walk in the mountains, and quickly donated them to my rescue mission.

My husband loves the NB brand for running.

Very comfortable shoe. While it is still an athletic shoe because it is black with a darker "N" logo, it can be worn with casual looks also.

Bought these for my husband. He has a very wide foot and relies on New Balance for all his athletic shoes. These are comfortable, true to size in length and width.

Great sneaks!

These shoes come at quite a price, but I think I can explain why. They're as rigid and tough as a skate shoe, so they're stable: No twist, no roll, no unpredictable movements. They feel flat and solid on the ground. Despite this toughness, they're much lighter, much softer, much more breathable, and much more comfortable than a skate shoe; which make sense because this is a running shoe. Ground impact is cushioned just right. You can wear them all day long without fatigue or you can get in a good run, walk, or workout without that "I gotta get my feet out of these things" feeling at the end. I actually bought a second pair to wear around the house because of how stable and comfortable they feel. The second pair will make a good backup as well. I hate it when you can't find a suitable replacement for a pair of shoes you like because they've been discontinued! Style-wise, they're not at all ostentatious and actually have a subdued, no-nonsense look of sturdy, attractive quality. I can get away with wearing the black and silver shoe with casual slacks - and I do just that every chance I get. A quick change of cloths later, and I'm out for a jog. Awesome! I found the perfect shoe. I hope they keep together for a very, very long time.

Been wearing these for decades for walking my dogs and kick around shoes. Its a great shoe!

Okay. This shoe is really expensive but I'm very happy with this shoe. My recent runs are more comfortable and the shoe fits great. New Balance has the best shoes for wide feet and this shoe keeps me from over pronating. Hopefully, I will get some long-term used out of them.

I buy the new balance sneakers because they are made in the USA. They are comfortable and always know what you are getting

If you have very thin feet, this is a great choice. I have to go with 2A width and this is one of the rare shoes that actually is that narrow. I like the looks and they are very comfortable. As a nice bonus they are made in the USA, which is exceedingly rare. Highly recommend!

These shoes are extremely comfortable and provide the arch support I need. Zappos is my "go to" for shoes. Zappos service is excellent!
