Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I was looking for a versatile jacket and this definitely fits the bill. I bought it in the rabbit grey heather, which is a nice neutral color that I think will go well with just about anything. I bought and tried on both the North Face Apex Bionic and Calentino 2 jackets and definitely prefer the Bionic for the slimmer/active fit. Depending on what you're looking for, the Bionic is warmer/thicker than the Calentino. I also love the the longer sleeves and lining that help keep my hands warmer. I am 5'2", a 32B, and ~125lbs and chose the Small for the Bionic. It's snug, but not tight, and I'll have to stick with thinner shirts/sweaters underneath. While the Medium would have given more room for thicker layers underneath, the arms and shoulders were way too big for me and took away from the overall style of the coat.
I'd also recommend:
Columbia

Warmer than just a windbreaker, this has a layer underneath so it's a touch warmer than the original Apex Bionic Coat. Layer for color or keep in tact for cold (not too cold) weather that may be wet.

Love North Face jackets. Owned the black one just got this silver one,it's more light grey then silver. The sleeves are a little bit longer then my black jacket but not a problem. I'm 5'4" and 140 and the medium fits good. Blocks the wind and rain. Love the zipper pockets especially the breast pocket! Would recommend if you need a light weight but warm jacket. Love, Love, Love Zappos!!!

It fit fine, but is not warm at all. I wore it to a baseball game and about froze. It was a very windy 60 degree day so I thought it would be great. I do like the deep pockets, but there are holes in the pockets that allow air to blow in. It’s very cute but not warm enough for me.

I own a lot of North Face jackets, and this has got to be one of my absolute favorites! It is the perfect casual jacket to wear with practically anything. The color (Ink Blue) was even more gorgeous in person and the shell is super soft. We get a lot of crazy weather in Kansas and so far this has held up to Wind, Rain, Snow and crazy windchills. I would definitely recommend this to everyone!

I've had a previous version of this jacket for years and got this to replace it, but I have to agree with all the other reviewers that the sleeves are way too long. The arms are also very baggy so it's not a flattering fit. I also tried a size down and the arms were slightly better, but still baggy, and it was too small everywhere else. Disappointed North Face messed up the fit on what used to be a great jacket.

This is a nice jacket but for me it was too long and the sleeves were too long which I think is a north face norm for some reason. Also it's shaped like a bell which I don't think is flattering, it almost looks stretched out at the bottom. I wish North Face and more manufacturers would make petite sizes for us smaller gals. I think it's helpful to know what size the reviewers are for reference. I am 5'2" and weigh 115 , am a 36C and not too "hippy" and I usually wear a medium jacket so I can layer but I wear a small in the khombu fleece and that fits great. . This jacket definitely runs small and the medium just zipped and wouldn't have room to layer. I don't know why the sizes aren't the same for all ther jackets. Anyway, if you're taller and have long arms you might like this jacket
I'd also recommend:
Columbia, mountain hardware, marmot and Patagonia

I ABSOLUTELY love this North Face jacket. I am a tall beauty at 5 feet 11 and the sleeves are perfect! This is one brand I purchase a lot because the sleeves are almost always long enough. I am 140 pounds & the medium is perfect for a little bit of extra room. Not to mention its very warm for the Fall weather. For anyone shorter than 5 feet 4 just roll up the sleeves and keep it moving :). This jacket is a must have.

Love this jacket! Light enough to move easily in it but still very warm. Sized up to Large to layer underneath, usually wear a Medium.

I was looking for a wind/rain jacket which was more than my TNF shell. I wanted to be warm without having to layer up. This Apex Bionic 2 jacket is the perfect solution. Although the sizing tag reads as Standard Fit, I am a lover of Athletic fit and this jacket is far better than the ordinary standard fit. i bought a couple of colors to try and fell in love with the Juicy Red (past season color). I got lucky since the color of "past season" on this jacket were better than that of the current season's and it was on sale. Yahoo! Great jacket, highly recommend!

This is my second TNF Apex Bionic jacket. I lost my original and was devastated. I bought a new one immediately. This is a newer style with a few minor changes to the original, but overall...the same great jacket. The fit is true to size and very comfortable.

It’s exactly what I wanted and looks great, except it’s a tight fit around the arm area

I bought this for my mother as a gift. She loves it and is very happy with the warmth and the water resistance. This product blocks the wind very well. Very awesome jacket for the money.

This jacket runs small and is slim fitting with no stretch so I recommend ordering up a size. It fits below the waist so you want it to comfortably lay otherwise it will bunch the whole jacket up. I returned for a bigger size and love it.

I am a physician and I purchased this jacket to use both in & out of the clinic. The material is too rigid and not very comfortable. It restricts your movement. I haven't been able to use it at work for that reason. The sleeves are also odd. They are asymmetrically long and awkward looking. I wish I could return it, but it's too late.

I miss the old jacket that this was based on. I have my originally one from so long ago I don't even remember the name of it. This new jacket is just too stiff. It is very uncomfortable and hard to move my arms around it. It flares at the bottom and is roomy there, but very restrictive in the armpit area. The old material was much more flexible. I'll keep it and hope that the more I wear it, the more the material loosens up.

I ordered this jacket in black and grey. The grey one was cut differently in the arms and shoulders, it looked bulky. Seems odd since both were the same size. I returned the grey and keot the black.

My old North Face that I wear EVERY DAY is beginning to fade. I have had it about 7 years. I want the old jacket back. It is soft and easy to wear...but this jacket is made of some waterproof, stiff material. I am returning and I guess I will need to look at another company for daily wear jacket. I prefer North Face...and I must say that I just LOVE my old jacket....hopefully, you will bring the old jacket back!

I've worn the original apex bionic for probably the last 8 years. It has been my go to jacket for spring through fall. It's comfortable and stylish. Since it's showing wear now I decided to refresh it. Let me just say...I will not be tossing out my old worn jacket. The new design on the bionic 2 is terrible. The sleeves make no sense at all. It feels so awkward and looks like a flaw. If I hadn't worn the jacket already I would most definitely return it. Bad move TNF. Bring back the original design!!

The Apex Bionic 2 jacket is a great all around jacket. Lightweight, but warm, great for hiking, walking, or just an everyday jacket.
