fit was good, sized up to 38, arch support cold be better--doesn't quite fit my arch. Black patent is pretty but feels a little stiff at the ankle strap--am exchanging for the black oiled leather ones.

I so wanted to keep these shoes. They are gorgeous, have a nice wedge and make me look taller (lol). I returned them because, for this money, I shouldn't have to worry that a piece of velcro used to strap them on, keeps catching on the hem of my pants. My feet are prone to swelling , so using velcro means that on days when you need extra space, instead of going to a different hole on the strap, you have to move the strap on the velcro which leaves a portion of it exposed, hence the catching on hems. That just shouldn't be a factor in a shoe of this price. When Mephisto corrects this "cheaping out" with velcro, I will open up my pocket book and order a pair once again.

They are so chi-chi. They look amazing on. Definitely go with a size up. I’m an 8.5 and I bought the 39. None too large. There are some sharp pieces in the stitching that rubbed my foot from 2 different straps that I trimmed. They are not quite as awesome as my SAS sandals, but they are WAY fancier! Now....$300 fancier?!? The jury is still out on that.

Great comfortable Mephisto wedge sandal. Runs SMALL. Order one full size up!! Back they must go sicne they are too small and Zappos doesn't have the next size. Love the hidden velcro straps under the buckles. They make is easily adjust the width and fit for my narrow foot. Wish the straps didn't go all the way down to the sole - this "style" really dates the shoe (I love dateless shoes.) Minimal arch support - I have medium arches. It's a real challenge to find shoes with good arch support. What happened?

I ordered these shoes in both 37 and 38. I generally wear a size 7 or 7.5, but I have a wide foot (if I could get the shoe wide enough, I would wear 6.5 or 7 at the most). The 37 was just a bit too short, but because of the adjustable straps (Velcro) over the toes and across the top of the foot, the width would be fine. I am keeping the 38, though, because I think it will be more comfortable in the long run, with room for my feet to swell over the course of a long day. I ordered the Black Waxy/Cuba version, and feel that the strap across my toes is a little stiff (which is why I gave these only 4 stars for Overall and Comfort). I am hoping that it will soften up a bit as I wear these.

These sandals look super cute and on and are very comfortable. However I agree with many of the other reviewers who said they tend to run a little short. Although my right foot is probably a quarter inch longer than my left, I can generally wear most size 8M (though I am on the narrow side) but with this sandal was hitting right on the end in a 39. I am keeping them as a 40 would be too long and the length with the 39 it is not enough to notice or look weird, but in my opinion they tend to run short.

These sandals are cute, with good support. However, the 38 was slightly short and the 39 was too long, which put the lower band rubbing against my foot. Sorry they don't work for me.

Gorgeous shoe - the most comfortable I've ever set foot in! Unfortunately my toes hung over the end and I had to return. I normally wear an 11, and ordered the 42. Too short!

These are beautiful shoes and the footbed is like a dream. I’ve never worn such soft, cushiony shoes before. Sadly, the straps rubbed me the wrong way. I’ll definitely try a different style in this brand but these had to go back.

I have plantar fasciitis and in my early 40's I am young"ish". I really am not a fan of comfort shoes. All I can remember is by great aunt nunn Sister Irma walking along in some doozies and quite frankly many on here remind me of them. These are much tamer nunnie shoes and the gold color will go with a lot more. The bottom line is the moment I put them on and started walking in them for the remained of the day they did not hurt my feet and my feet did not feel like they felt worse. The heel is a good elevation in order to relieve to pressure. NOTE* After reading many reviews I sized up 1 size. Everyone was correct!

I love this shoe base and I've been scooping up all of the cute styles which use it. So comfy and mot matronly. The only thing about this pair I'm not sure I love is the buckles are not real. They have Velcro closures both front and back. The strap at the ankle is a bit high and does cause some friction unlike any other pair I've purchased.

I really wanted to love these. For the price point, I expected these suede beauties to be butter soft. Not the case, though. The way the strap was glued on the inside was sharp, and cut into my skin. Also, I have a narrow foot in Birkenstock, and wear a 37 narrow in those. They manage to get the footbed right, but this Mephisto left my toes hanging off. I had to return, sadly.

This sandal is pretty and has a luxurious quality, but feels too small. I may go up one more size to see how it fits overall. Unfortunately when I try that with other shoes the length is fine but the rest of the shoe doesn’t fit well.

I have this shoe in another color that I love, but this one had stiff black leather that dug into both ankles. Love this color combo just not the stiff leather with sharp edges.

These were a big disappointment. I have always been an 8M and these, in a 38, were too small. Ordered a size up and the length was better but the straps were loose and sloppy.

I bought the mephisto flat and it was great. Ordered these and they were to small. Sad!

Fit was good. Loved the look of this shoe. However, the front strap, as pretty as it is, is very stiff and cut into my foot when trying to walk, therefore the lower rating. . These have to go back. A nice soft black leather would be great in these. Like that it is a nice height wedge and that the front platform reduces the actual heel height as far as the strain on your knees that higher heels usually impart. Great design overall. I also have these in the greay nubuck--pretty color, soft and comfortable..

I really wished this sandle fit better on my type of foot. I have a small feet but they are wide. And I just was not comfortable in this sandle. So therefore I had to return. However, this sandle was super pretty and light.

I purchased this sandal in the tan. Love the style and the fit, BUT -- the buckles are faux, and the actual closure is velcro. This would not be a big deal, but the velcro is a very light beige, and stands out against the darker leather of the strap. I have a very high arch, so the top strap needed to be quite loose in order to fit. The result is that the strap is hooked on the edge of the velcro, so you can see 1" of light beige velcro against the tan of the shoe. The exposed, off-color velcro ruins the look of the sandal. Very disappointed so must return.

This is my first pair of Mephisto shoes. I bought the Camel Waxy/Nude Stella color. I wear a U.S. size 9 and the 40 Euro fits well. I love the glam element of these sandals. I like the Velcro straps, which you would never know just to look at them. They seem comfortable just walking around the house in them. However, I'm a bit shocked that for $259 the upper / straps are not lined and its just bare leather. That aspect of the shoe makes them seem cheap. I have so many other sandals I have bought for half the price that were fully lined. It's hard for me to find shoes that I like, in my size, that are comfortable, which these are. Other than the lining issue, I really like them. I don't mind spending "good" money on shoes, if I really love them. I haven't decided if I'll keep them.

Size & fit were fine. Probably a very comfortable shoe. Looking for a wedge that was a little more stylish. Sexier.

I wanted to love this - really cute for a comfort sandal. And I prefer Velcro to working buckle. I am sure they are comfortable for most feet... but not mine. Because of collapsed arches my feet hit the edges on both sides making it very uncomfortable to stand in them. I would need a wide - as is the case for some other brands too. They run more than a size small, as other reviewers mention. For length I needed a 38 but I am 36 in Birk and 27 in Dansko.

I loved these sandals, but I agree with other reviewers that they run too short. Moving up a size would make them too big

Returned these - I normally wear a size 7.5 in a sandal. I ordered the size 38 and it was too short. Also, the sole felt very hard.

First, I wear 8.5B-9B medium width shoes generally, and 39N birkenstock Arizonas for reference. The good: These are gorgeous-looking, classic, timeless and stylish sandals with thick, soft oiled leather in a terrific color of brown. The So-So: some but not great arch support. The not good: I am returning them bec.: 1) 39 footbed was quite short, tho it's the size I wear in Mephisto Helens and other styles consistently. The footbed is on the narrow side as well. (Great for gals with narrow feet, however,) I have learned that sizing up to 40 in Mephistos leaves my feet sloshing around and on a heel with a narrow sole that's dangerously unstable where gravel and uneven pavements are all too common.
