I got confused with this boot, "Hunter Original REFINED Gloss" (HORG) and the "Hunter Original Gloss" (HOG) that I was trying to replace -- been very happy with my old pair but the dog got my side buckles and it was time to upgrade. Be alert, the fit is different between these two Hunter boots. I'm a huge fan of HOG, but not the HORG. HORG is more "refined", I guess, (now that I notice the subtle name difference) but the HORG is a sloppier fit in the front of the ankle (for me), perhaps due to heel being lower and the styling in the ankle area. Also, the calf on the HORG is much slimmer than the HOG. I've got bigger calves, so I need the extra room just to get in, much less to slide in a pair of slim jeans. (This is the first time I've measured my calves, but some facts may help your purchase. I'm 15".) Returning these but excited to discover my error - ordering my navy HOGs now! Enjoy your boots, they are great if you get the right one for you.

I purchased the Original Hunter Refined Gloss Rain Boot and absolutely love the style and the fit. I normally wear a size 10 and I purchased these in a Size 9 and I still have room but with socks they will be just right. I love the riding boot look and the fact that the shaft is tall (I am 5'8" and the boot hits just below my knee). The circumference of the boot is what really makes this style look fantastic. The description says 15". But my calf is 13" circumference and there is not a big gap between my leg and the boot so it really looks sleek! I also like the fact that the boot has the non-skid on the bottom but is not that huge heavy lug sole that the other original gloss style has. The tip of the boot (where the toes are) does not have the ridge that slants up, which is another great feature of this style. I purchased these in Black and in Navy and love both colors. If you have thin legs and want a sleek look, purchase these, you won't be sorry. None of the other brands stack up for sure!

I absolutely love this refined version of Hunter boot! I've had and loved the original but decided to try these for the closer fit and I'm very happy with them. I have large calves and they do fit snugly but I like it to keep the heavy rains of NYC from going straight down the boot shaft! The rubber feels softer and more pliable than the original too. Runs more true to size in the foot bed too whereas the original runs large. Fits very much like a riding boot and is shaped like one too. One thing though I also ordered the boot liners socks for warmth but the fit of the boot is too slim to comfortably wear them. I'll pass them on to my daughter who has the original boot.

These boots are amazing!! They're slimmer than the original tall Hunter boots. I have skinny legs- the widest part of my calf is 12.75 inches and these boots are perfect. I usually wear a 6.5 in boots and the 6 fits me well. They are super shiny. They are comfortable. I highly recommend!!

Extremely comfortable. And for those with smaller calves, a great option as you can make these tighter than most rain boots. I love the high gloss. Super cute.

I purchased these in the gloss black. I normally wear 8 1/2-9. After I read the reviews I ordered both the 8 and 9, as well as the inserts. The 8 fit without the insert using a normal weight sock, but felt cold because of the rubber material. The size 9 with the Hunter insert was PERFECT, and super soft and warm on the foot. In my opinion, if you want comfort and warmth get the size up and the inserts, it changes the entire feel of the boot. I wore them in Mammoth in the snow and they worked great!

Boots look great and I liked refined style that looks fashionable. I usually wear US sz 8. These boots run true to size on narrower side unlike traditional hunter boots. Previously tried on traditional hunters style in size US 8 ( my usual size) that were huge on me so decided to order these refined version in US sz 7. I was able to get boot on however it would not fit with even thin sock on if needed. Exchanging to size 8. The boots felt much narrower in footbad and calf area comparing to original hunter boot style. These boots would not fit someone with calf circumference > 14 inch.

Fit and size is great, and looks great too. These resemble more of a riding boot compared to the original Hunter wellies I have in matte black as the soles are flatter and the shaft is narrower. You'll want proper socks to keep your feet warm as insulation is usually not a part of any rain boots you buy.

Beautiful. They look like riding boots but they keep your feet dry. The shaft is narrower in this refined version which is great for girls with skinny legs like me.

These boots are too cute! Love the shine. Can be practical for waterproof use or just for a cute fashion twist.

We followed others' advice and ordered a half size down. My fiancée wears an 8.5, so we ordered it in an 8, and it fit great. The bridge is snug, but the material is flexible, so it's not uncomfortable. The inner lining feels good, and the rubber material feels and looks fantastic. We like how shiny they are, and how tall the fit is. The diameter fits her calves very well, given that she has slender (but not skinny) legs. She loves them, and I think they look great on her!

I have a size 8.5 foot. The size 9 in the Hunter refined were a perfect fit. I also own a pair of the Hunter original boots and I wear a size 8 in those boots.

If you like somewhere that gets a lot of rain or snow, you need these boots. Seriously, buy them. You won't regret it. I've worn these in the pouring rain in 50 degree weather and in a blizzard when its -10 degrees, and they were prefect for both. They're not super warm in the snow, but a pair of wool socks solves that problem and these boots keep you feet nice and dry. They're quick to throw on to take the dogs out, and cute enough to wear to the office with a pair of dark skinny jeans. I've worn these walking all over hilly Montreal and they're comfortable all day. These boots do seem to run narrow though, and the calves are relatively tight. I'm about a size 8 and the calves are just about the right width for me, if you're a larger size they might be a bit too tight (but Chelsea version might be a good choice, I have those and love them, too!). I also wouldn't recommend them for very warm weather, since the rubber tends to trap heat. The shorter version might be better in that case.

So I had the original Hunter boots and was eager to see how the refined boot would compare. Much sleeker look and less bulky than original style. Having a narrow calf these also are a much better fit! Love the slate color too —sale and free 1 day shipping on Zappos also a plus

Fits well. I have a narrow foot with a low arch and the boot fit well but offers no arch support. I have small ankles and calves and the boot fit well and snug. I also own the original hunter adjustable boot with back strap and those are way too big for me. I swim in them compared to this fit and style of boot.

I love these boots. True to size and so cute.

I like these much more than the original style for they are more fitted to your calf. They look much more stylish as well.

These boots are the only rubber rainboots I have found that fit true to size on my feet, in both legnth and width. They fit llike a shoe. The foot width is narrower than the Hunter orignal tll boots, which are too wide on my average-width feet. The shaft is also narrower than the original tall boots. It is snug but not too tight over jeans on my average-size calves. They are the prettiest rubber rainboots I have seen.

If you have high arches these boots are not for you. They are beautiful and the fit is true to size. I wear a size 10 and ordered that size however I have high arches and after having them on for only a few minutes the top of my arch was red and hurting. Unfortunately, I had to return them.

These gloss rain boots are the real deal. I also tried to "tour" rain boots, and although those are great for traveling, they did not give enough coverage and support as these bad boys do. My one concern is that these boots tend to become very cold if you are only wearing a pair of socks with them. Layering will be your BEST friend when it comes to these boots! They are so cute for fall!

Good boot for the price.

These are amazing boots. I bought them for work, I work in a theater that has a pool in it, so i wouldn’t slip running around in my cowboy boots. They have kept me safe and out of the pool.
