The toe box is short and very narrow

I'm looking for sneakers that I can do a lot of walking in, for traveling. These were too low, and just not comfortable. I knew as soon as I put them on that they would not be comfortable walking shoes. Would be ok for just wearing out to dinner or around town, but not much walking.

These shoes hit me everywhere they shouldn't. Too bad as they are really cute.

I wanted to love these shoes. They are cute and stylish, and remind me of that old school shoe we love so much. Unfortunately I should have listened to the reviewer that said the fabric was stiff and uncomfortable, because it is a very hard fabric. My feet were screaming after sitting with them on for about 30 seconds. They seem to be an accurate width and length, but the lack of comfort trumps the style. I do NOT recommend. Thank you Zappos for letting me give them a try and taking them back for free.

I so wanted to love these! They're very cute and would be perfect with shorts or jeans. The arch support is really good, but they're just not comfortable. The upper is very stiff, and the toe box is narrow. I may try sizing up a half size to see how they are, but I fear the stiffness of the shoe just won't work. Disappointing.

I's so dissapointed. The minute I took these out of the box, I could see they were too narrow, even though they were a wide. They look like they are well made and have a lot of support.

Heard good things about these shoes. I wanted to like them; but they weren't for me. I'm flat footed and the arch support wasn't in the right spot for me. Didn't want to chance it by keeping them and trying to break them in so back they went.

I was really disappointed in these shoes. They are cute and seemingly well made, but the sizing is way off. I typically wear a 7.5 in heels, and often size up to an 8 in sneakers or boots (especially if i want the option to wear socks). I initially got the 8, which was way too tight in the toes. not due to width, but due to height. I could barely get my foot in. I knew the length would be fine, so I exchanged them for the 8W, assuming the toe area would be a better fit. It wasn't. It was almost as if they had taken the 8 M and just squished the front a bit to make it wider. If anything, the toe felt even lower than the 8 M. At this point, i just returned them and started looking at other options.

OUCH! These are the most uncomfortable shoes (not just sneakers) I have ever tried on! The material is SO stiff -- and combined with the way-too-small sizing, it was brutal just getting them on. (And I ordered a size up from my usual size.) They were too small in length, and too small in width. But the worst part? They are cut so low in the back, that the stiffest part the shoe rubs right across the bony part of the back of the foot. I wore them around the house less than ten minutes and knew they had to go back. They are very cute, and out of the box I wanted them to work. But I couldn't get them BACK in the box fast enough.

I really wanted these to work for me. As suggested, I ordered 1/2 size larger than I normally wear. The length was still a bit short but the biggest problem for me was the height of the toe box, which wasn't enough for me. It was pretty shallow. Plus, the shoes are heavy and the sole doesn't have a lot of cushion. The plus was the arch support, which many shoes of this style don't have these days.

I wanted to like these but they weren't as comfortable as I had hoped they would be. The tongue of the sneaker hit me at the ankle and was uncomfortable. Sadly, I returned them.

I really wanted to keep these, but they were extremely stiff, and the inside seams were equally uncomfortable against my toes. Also, the attractive and very thick off-white all-cotton laces were very hard to tighten, even after I changed the lacing style from the "marketing" look to a style that's usually easy to snug up. Too bad--back they went. Will try AllBirds instead, or Rothys.

They were very cute on. But the arch was too firm for my feet and they hurt to walk in them around the living room. I will be returning them.

I really wanted to love these, but just couldn't do it. I own a pair of Taos sandals and they are amazing (can wear those all day). My normal size is a 9M, per reviews I ordered both a 9.5M and a 10M. 10M was a better length, but both styles were just too tight and the footbed too hard. I have narrow/normal feet, so it is unusual for a Medium width shoe to feel tight. Most likely the shoes would have loosened after wear, but I couldn't get past the hard footbed. There was definite arch support, but I need energy return to walk around Europe for 12 days. I feel they would be more painful than comfortable. I need the comfort of their sandals inside of these adorable sneakers.

These were great looking shoes and I'm sorry I had to return them. They were just way too thin in the soles. I need more cushion than that.

I thought these looked good but they just were not comfortable at all when I put them on. Zero support. I sent them back.

This shoe, especially the insert, was very stiff and uncomfortable. The Star is a cute shoe, but I couldn't keep them on my feet they were that uncomfortable for me. I agree with others that suggested the Moc Star instead. It's a more comfortable shoe and also gives you the option to choose between two different colored laces. I might not be a good candidate for Taos footwear because the insoles are not comfortable for me, but when I put in my super feet inserts the shoes, they fit my foot better.

The fit was okay, I just didn’t think they were all that comfortable, especially at this price.

I usually wear a 6.5 or 7 depending on the shoe/style/brand. I would need a 7.5 for this one.

did not fit, too long (I should not have ordered a half size bigger, as advised). Can't wear with custom orthotics - once you take the insert out, the shoe is completely flat soled

I never have ordered a size up until these shoes, but no big deal. The footbed is very comfortable, great arch support, flexible sole, but my big toe was very squished in the size I normally wear. So I just went up half a size and they are great! I've tried other brands of this style shoe, but none were comfortable, this one is perfect.

Not a fan of these. The arch seemed really high and firm (and I have high arches), and the heel was a little too low- dug in a little. They are cute, though.

I ordered a half size up as suggested and while the shoes do fit, they have caused blisters on my toes. They are fine to wear for a little bit but not for all day walking. I like my converse shoes better. I wish I had returned these instead of wearing them and hoping they'd feel better after breaking them in. I am disappointed with this purchase.

Another “wide” shoe that doesn’t quite fit the bill for my feet. Admittedly my feet are very wide, but every shoe is cut a bit different and most “wides” work comfortably. Unfortunately can’t say the same for these shoes- I was hoping for a simple athletic flat sneaker to slide on quickly. Gotta keep looking...

I found them to be very uncomfortable. They are very stiff and dug in to the top of my foot when walking. I tried wearing them a few times and they never relaxed. I won't be keeping them. The style was nice and they do have a little arch support. I bought them for the arch support but found they needed an additional insert to get the support I was after. I bought a wide and found the wide to have adequate room for my foot.
