I first tried Altra Zero Drop Olympus 1.5 first and liked them. But they were slippery on the wet pavement and I had a problem blowing out the back achilles padding. So I tried the Olympus 2.) and while I loved the cushioning and large toe box, the padding issue in the achilles was not better and was causing disintegrated (oddly only on my right foot) after 40-60 miles. I tried different lacing options, and sizes (couldn't wear a smaller size) but ultimately, I couldn't afford to keep wearing them. I even contacted the company and they gave me a credit. I wish they would fix this design issue because I like the wider toe box, but ultimately had to switch to Hoka (which, it turns out, I really like).

I have 2 pair of Olympus 1.5 shoes, which are extremely comfortable and which are the only shoes I can wear without insoles that are comfortable with my neuroma. Unfortunately, this model has been replaced by Olympus 2 which are too small. Too tight in the width, feel a half size too small in general, and most disturbingly have a much shallower toe box from top to bottom. In addition, Olympus 2 feel more cheaply made than Olympus 1.5 and for some reason they cost more! I am returning both pair of Olympus 2 and going to buy what every remaining Olympus 1.5 I can find. I hate it when a manufacturer discontinues an existing model and replaces it with a shoe that does not fit the same. I am sure Olympus 2 will fit someone - but they don't fit me and if Olympus 1.5 worked great for you then you may have the same problem I did.
