As I've gotten older I need more support even though I have a neutral arch. These shoes feel great and are the only ones I've found that provide both support, good foot strike, cushioning, comfort and an wide enough width for me. No break-in was required.

Have been wearing NB shoes for a long time. Started out with 811--great. 812--very poor. 928--good until feet started swelling. Went from 2E to 4E to 6E. Even with stretching, not wide enough. Probably go to stretchable shoe.

Bought two pairs of shoes to test. One pair too tight for the size, these fit correctly, old tired feet that are quite tempermental at times. Enjoy the extended time Zappos ofters to test and ease of returning, thanks Zappos!

I wear an AFO and so these are the only shoes which are right for me. Unfortunately, I find that they last me only around three months, so I'm constantly having to buy them. I wish they had a harder rubber sole.

New balance seems to have changed their sizing. I've ordered these shoes for years and I had change sizes. Rather versatile!

I've loved New Balance in the past. This shoe pinches in slightly near the ball of the foot. It also has a stiffer sole. It is very stable it walk in. Great support.

I used to like these shoes but it seems that they are making narrower than what they used to be. Sending them back for the medium width.

I was worried that the walking shoes would be narrow, because I had read other reviews. I called a New Balance store and was told the that the normal width were good, and it was not until you ordered extra wide there was differencel

Comfortable shoe that fits well. I wear orthotics and was relieved to find they had a removable liner/insert. I would have liked a little more arch support but my orthotics seem to take care of that.

The last pair I bought fell apart within 3 months I need a pair of shoes but I am afrade to purchase them again as they have no quality and don't last for the price. Garbage I wish I knew what else to purchase as I need shoes that will handle my arch supports.

Initially it looked sharp and felt stiff but ok then the eventually began to hurt my heels because they dont support the heel evenly i bought these because i needed leather shoes for work i used to wear Brooks beast but they dont come in leather Im a 12 w i ordered a 12.5 w it fits well but like i said too rigid

Like the other reviews say, these run much smaller. Usually wear a 11/4E, but had to exchange for 11.5/6E. Also didn't feel as smooth inside but that may be due to small size.

heavier type sneaker, we need slip resistant, but these were not good on wet floors....the padding started separating with in 2 weeks of wear, so they were sent back. They were comfortable tho

I have to agree with the many other reviews that this shoe is much different than the previous version. Like the others I have been wearing the 928 for years and bought this to replace it. Unfortunately as noted elsewhere, this shoes is much narrower than the original 928. I think it is also a bit shorter although for me the length is not an issue. only the width. I should have returned them, but unfortunately wore them for a while thinking they would 'break in'. Anyone find a good replacement for this 928V2 (or Vnarrow!).

I thought the fabric tops would be cooler in the summer. They are cooler, but lack the support leather tops provide. Also, they are hard to keep clean, as they get dirtier faster. I washed them two days ago and they're already dirty.

I am not real happy with this shoe. I need a 6E and they seem narrower than what they should be. I have been trying to get used to them for 2 months now and my feet hurt worse than when I quit wearing my old shoe. They also have developed a squeak in the right shoe. Do not like the 928v2 style at all. Go back to the 928. I could put them on and wear them right away, no breaking them in.

I was looking for a shoe to replace the New Balance 1540. The 1540v2 no longer worked because it now doesn't have enough depth for my orthotics, and has reduced cushioning. So, I decided to try the 928v2. I wear a size 14B. The shoe was great in length and width. It also had enough depth for my orthotics. The problem is that the shoe is very stiff and doesn't have enough cushion for me. I had to send it back. If you like a stiff leather shoe, with limited cushioning, but good support give this a try.

this version 2 is causing foot pain and I cant't wear on a regular basis. Probably wore to often to return. Hopefully the version 3 is a better fit.

New Balance tried to make the shoe more stylish in appearance but in the redesign the toe box was made much smaller in height and width. Since buying the 928 vll, I have tried various socks of different thickness for comfort and my shoe stretcher has become vital. I would not recommend this shoe and hope that New Balance will come out with a redesigned vlll.

Holy crap are these things uncomfortable. I bought these (928v2) for $115 and a pair of new balance 411 for $40. The 411 feel good and have great cushioning when walking, just hate the mesh. These 928's made my feet and lower back sore within an hour of wearing them. I like the look and all leather shoe though. My girlfriend says I look like an old man with them on, so atleast I got that going for me.

The inner lining started to peel off. It has happened to 2 previous pairs of MW928. One was v1 of the shoe and another of v2.

I saw other the reviews and as such I ordered a full size wider than normal, I had to return those for being narrow. I then ordered the widest version of this shoe and it still does not fit. This is the Note 7 of New Balance shoes if you have wide feet.

I was hoping the reviews were wrong, but it's true: the 928s are ruined. They are incredibly tight and uncomfortable. I simply cannot believe they ruined a great walking shoe like this! I can only hope they'll reverse course with v3.

Looked forward to this shoe based on reviews however it doesn't provide the support I expected. Overall they don't feel any better than a medium support running shoe. I have noticed that my left foot is also rolling over the shoe to the inside - don't know if it is a quality issue but I haven't had this problem with other shoes I own. Brooks Beast is a much better shoe.

I wear New Balance shoes almost exclusively, as I have very wide feet, and there are not many shoes on the market that will fit me. I was not thrilled about the style, but I thought it would be nice to wear something besides white tennis shoes for once. As soon as I got these shoes out of the box I could tell that they were way too narrow. Just holding one shoe beside my current New Balance 622 I could see that the 622 is at least an inch wider down the entire length. I wear 6E width, and typically New Balance walking and running shoes work for me, even when using Superfeet Green inserts. The box says these are 14 6E, but I can just barely fit my foot inside after removing the standard insole, and it is really squeezing. With the Superfeet insole added, there is no way that I can wear these. I do not know why these New Balance shoes are so much narrower than the other New Balance shoes I own, but it is very disappointing.
