Some of the reviews I read suggested the shoe would have a squeak when walking, even on carpet. I was leary, but really liked the last J&M shoe I bought (different style). The shoe does not squeak any more than any other shoe, even in rainy conditions.

Big fan of the McGuffey plain toe shoes. I love wearing these with jeans and khakis because they stand out from other semi casual shoes.

Shoes were as expected. Johnston and Murphy have a long reputation of providing a quality shoe with comfort at its very core. These can be worn daily and will last for a very long time. You will buy several new shoe strings before having to let these go.
