This is a great sandal. Not only are the soles very sturdy and comfortable, the look real cool.

I forgot how nice it is to have a new pair of Chacos! My old pair was 4 years old and the footbed was starting to come off and they were dirty and starting to smell. Buying a pair of sandals that will last that long before biting the dust is worth it.

My husband wanted these Chaco's because I always rave about how comfortable my Chaco's are and how I love how the shoes support my arches. Once he put these on he understood why I own not only the classic but 2 other styles of Chaco's. I recommend ordering a size down and I think anyone that wears them will be satisfied.

I bought these for kayaking but after trying them on the arch is way too high. These aren’t for low arches or flat feet. They aren’t stylish, but I appreciate the sturdiness. I’m confident you could walk on a rocky trail in these and it would save your feet. They are more for outdoor adventuring. The straps are easy to adjust and comfortable for my wider feet with bunions. I just didn’t like that the excess strap hangs down dragging on the ground unless you tuck them in somehow. If you have higher arches and plan to kayak/hike these are a great option. They’re just not for me.

I have purchased this shoe in the exact same size in the past. However, this time they are too snug. I wish these were available in 1/2 sizes. Otherwise, very comfortable footbed and nicely adjustable straps. Great summer/autumn sandal!

These are very comfortable when they are adjusted perfectly. But you have to loosen the main strap to take them off. I find the straps around the top of my foot can get a little tight and restrictive after walking. Otherwise, these are simple and comfortable.

I got a size 10 wide for my husband. He said the width felt great, but the size seemed to run maybe a half size large. The shoes seemed very well made. My husband’s foot doesn’t have a lot of arch and the shoes have moderate arch support. The support was too much for his foot, making it very uncomfortable to walk in. Sadly we had to return them.

Too small.

I on currently on my fourth pair of these in 6 years. I have very wide feet and finding sandals that fit has always been especially challenging. These do fit, and I'm thankful that Chaco Makes them in wide sizes.

I am an adult man with a size 7 to 7.5, EE to EEE width. I *hate* shoe shopping because nothing fits. The Chaco's size 7-EE ran true to size, with a good width for the front of my foot and a little narrow at the heel. I am flat footed and this has a big arch support, so it's mildly uncomfortable, but everyone who knows these sandals says they will mold to the foot. It's unfortunate that the wide only comes in black. I'd rather have a shoe with a little more pizzazz. On the other hand, at least they fit. Thus, I can't say I'm enthusiastic about such an expensive sandal that is plain black, but for a small and wide foot this did feet and thus can do thejob.

My husband loves Chaco's, I got these for him as a replacement after the puppy chewed his old ones. He has a hard time with the webbing wearing out. It seems in recent years, it has happened more quickly than in past years. I think they changed something in the quality of the materials. But, overall, what we expected for the shoe.

I wanted a high quality walking and hiking sandal. I tried and compared the Chaco Z/1 Classic, the Teva Terra Fi 5 Universal, and the ECCO Sport Yucatan. All three are top notch hiking sandals rated very highly on many hiking sites. The Chaco was the best looking sandal, but also the most uncomfortable with a very stiff footbed. After adjusting it to a perfect fit, my feet still slid forward and back on the very flat footbed. The Teva was more comfortable, but not well made -- glue (not stitches) held the soft padding to the coarse straps. The glue was not holding very well even on a new pair of sandals. The ECCO Yucatan was the most comfortable by far, the most supportive, best designed, and made with much higher quality materials and craftsmanship than the other two. It looks stylish too. It is also priced somewhat higher. To me, the ECCO Yucatan was by far the best of the three...and the comfort is awesome.

While "true to size" would be the correct term, ultimately I was unable to tighten the straps enough for my narrow foot. So the fit was loose and insecure. I wanted to like them (my wife says they are the most comfortable footwear she owns. Just didn't work for me.

These didn’t work for me. My wife loves hers but, perhaps due to my narrow foot, I couldn’t get the straps to fit snugly — so they were loose and floppy. Not at all comfortable. Will return these.

The heel strap is not adjustable and forces the foot forward in the shoe - leaving a lot of sole behind the heel and the arch in the wrong place. I returned them.

Very heavy

They will be fine after I buy a bottle of liquid fabric softener, soak the brand new sandals overnight, adjust them, and then wash them, or send them to Chaco and wait 14 weeks to get them back.

I didn’t receive it!

First know that my husband threw away the box - so I cannot return and my son did not try the shoes because I have bought him many pairs of Chacos from Zappos and others. So I was surprised and very angry when I discovered - YOU CANNOT ADJUST THE STRAPS!!! So now we have a $100 pair of unwearable sandals and I called Chacos - well, they didn't help at all. So my lesson - DON'T BUY ONLINE, TRY IN STORE or at least make sure the stupid straps are not melted to the soles before your OCD husband recycles the packaging.

My podiatrist recommended these sandals so I bought them and I'll probably keep them but the fact that you can spend $100 on sandals, and have a strap that drags on the ground, just seems like incredibly lazy design work. I feel like the company could have included a little loop or something to catch the extra material... so that it doesn't *drag on the ground* when you walk. There are videos online on how to fix this issue! Apparently if you just cut the strap you risk ruining your warranty. So you can tie the strap into a knot, or roll it up and secure it with an office file binder clip to avoid cutting it. Unbelievable. If I didn't risk the anger of my doctor, I'd return these right away.

I really wanted these to be everything people said about them, but right out of the box I could not get the adjustable straps to move so they weren’t usable. Apparently this happens sometimes and you have to return them to the Re-Chaco center to get them “unstuck.” I ordered a second pair, exact same problem. Returning them and trying Teva.

\Not a fair review because the color is just what I wanted, but the only size available. Not the usual size 10 I have purchased in similar sandals. Returned item.
