Its been a long time since l have been livid about a company, it's integrity and truthfulness..... they use some of us it seems after reading other reviews.. lt is obvious some of their sandals went out via errant quality control or inspection. I too had foot bed cracks at the metal anchors spots on the sides, a corrosion began within a year on the metal components. l was riding a moto in a remote area which l never hesitated to do with tough sandals in the tropics, when the right failed at the anchor nearly freaking me. When l went through their customer service, like at least another reviewer here l was left wondering just what was happening.. Ultimately they refused an owning up without even asking how long l had the sandals. Saying after l sent pictures.. "It looks like normal wear and tear" & that they were not covering them under warranty. Well l had an insight let me share it here, they got burned on a gaylord of metal pieces from a new supplier trying to make some more profit. Okay l understand it happens but l will never purchase anything from these guys ever again due to general lack of integrity or simple honesty on their part.... a shame bc l really liked their product, and the old sandals which l still have were quality.. these,. not so much again integrity lost as far as l am concerned. l feel quite hurt all in all.. l ask them to "go jump in a lake".

I have very wide feet. My google search for "sandals for wide feet" kept showing Chaco sandals, so I decided to give them a shot. Reviewers indicated that these ran about a full size larger than normal, so I ordered a 10 wide (I normally wear an 11). These are very solid sandals. Literally. The sole is a solid piece of rubber that is extremely durable, yet quite comfortable. When I first tried on the sandals, I wasn't sure the straps fit correctly, but after adjusting them per the instructions on the box, I found them to fit just fine. The strap system is different than most sandals with a fixed strap around the front part of the foot and an adjustable strap that covers the back part. I have noted that the straps have stretched out a little bit with wear making them even more comfortable. I can tell these sandals will last a very long time and will only get more comfortable with age. Highly recommended!

My son purchased this sandal to replace a pair of similar Chacos that are 2+ years old. He says that this model is a little lighter than his old pair and that the current size 12 has the same footbed as his old size 11. He usually wears 11.5 in sneakers. Hope this helps someone.

The ChacoGrip soles are extremely low quality and cracked almost completely in half after 3-months of use. These sandals used to have Vibram soles and would last up to 2 years. I strongly recommend against purchasing Chacos if you ever walk more that just driveway to door. I'm still in search of a replacement, as I have spent the last 10 years just replacing Chacos every 2 years. I'm not about to do that every 3 months.

Terrible quality. After 4 months both of my soles were cracked, one of them wide open. I'm having to send them in for warranty repair now, and it's not clear if Chaco will repair them for free.

I like these, it feels like they will last a really long time. I do have narrow feet and to get them tuned right utilizing the Z-strap, I have a long tail dragging behind, which feels like it could cause wear and looks bad. Not sure what to do about it. It I tuck it in under a strap, then I get chafe.

Perfect fit, giving 4 overall due to the flappy strap. Chacos needs to find a fix for that

I wear a women’s 11-11.5 W, or men’s 10-10.5 M... Chacos men’s 10 M was a good fit. But they were just not comfortable for me. And heavy! I weighed them on my food scale, and each sandal is 14.25 oz... so they are going back... All 5 of the different sizes and styles I tried (Thank you, Zappos!!!). The reason I was so determined to get Chacos, though, is that two friends recommended them so highly. One friend wears nothing else, year round... she just adds socks in the winter. So for the right feet, these are apparently great. But for my feet, not so much...

After 20 years as a Teva diehard I decided to give Chaco's a try. Why not considering virtually all the expert reviews rate Chaco's as the best sandal. My initial reactions were mixed. First off the weight. These sandals feel heavy. Very heavy. The footbed seems very stiff and hard but offers nice support. Definitely not the instant comfort all of my Tevas have provided for so many years. I have wide feet (EEE in dress shoes and EEEE in running shoes) and the Chaco wides fit. Length wise the sizing seems very comparable to my dress shoes and my Tevas. However, compared to my Nike running shoes I went down a full size. Trying to figure out the strap adjustment the first time was comical. After much pulling I was able to figure it out. In the end I am not sure that it offers any more customization than the Velcro on Tevas; it seems to just do it differently. I can't speak to durability since I just got them. I hope they hold up as well as my Tevas and become more comfortable.

Intended these for river boat and raft work. Very comfortable foot bed and the straps are comfortable enough to wear with bare feet. My issue with the sandal is twofold: the straps fastened to the front of the shoe narrow the toe area by a full inch and put pressure on the knuckle of the big toe while squashing the little toe (bought them wide so that doesn't really help). Also, while comfortable the arch support creates a small pocket just behind the ball of the foot that will catch sand and water. Returned them for a different design.

Purchased 8/2/21. Heel strap exploded 8/27/22 with another about to go. Not a year round shoe in Portland. $95.00 to buy, $21.87 to ship back to Chaco, $45.00 to repair, $10.00 to return ship. Not a great deal. (Prior pair lasted for perhaps 5 years until treads were worn away and a sole eventually delaminated.)

I'm very disappointed in the decline in quality and customer service at Chaco. I ordered a new pair to replace ones I had been very happy with for over 10 years. My only complaint was the sole separating from the sandal. The new pair was clearly more flimsy, with a thinner strap that hung down on the ground over an inch below the sandal. My feet are of normal size and shape. When I called Chaco customer service, I was offered two choices: Cut and burn the ends of the straps (to avoid unraveling), or send them into Chaco, at my inconvenience and expense, for the "repair". This seems unacceptable and unreasonable to me, for a brand new pair of $100-plus sandals. I won't be buying Chacos again!

The friend I bought these for absolutely loved them. The strap was a little long so they cut and sewed it a little shorter and looks great!

These Chacos fit fine; just like the pair I purchased 25 years ago! Yes, I still wear the old ones and they have been all over the planet and under water numerous times, salt and fresh. The new ones are identical as far as I can tell and I hope they last as long. Good quality for the money spent.

Chacos are the only sandals I purchase; for flip flops. I prefer Okibashi.

Great support and incredibly comfortable. I’ve held off buying chacos in the past due to how chunky they look, but this style and the color have a minimalist look, and definitely gave me the push to switch from my tevas.

Great sandals. My first pair of Chacos are way over 20 years old. I am still using them for walking. I have 2 other pairs and these are my fourth. Best sandals you can buy. Worth every penny.

Solid, well made sandals. I've had a couple pairs of Chaco flip flops for years and finally decided to try the Z/1 Classics for more secure support. In the Chaco flip flops, size 12 fits perfectly and is my preferred size in most shoes. So I ordered the Z/1 in 12...way too long. Ordered the 11...good length, but my outer mid-foot and heel were a little pinched. Ordered 11 Wide and they're spot on. In addition to a little extra width, the Wide is also a little longer, about 1/8" and match up well in length to my other size 12 footwear. I recommend sizing down to start and if they're just a touch short or feel a touch narrow, go with the Wide.

This is the 3rd pair I have owned over many years. I do a lot of walking and I find these sandals more comfortable for walking than any shoes have owned. The arch support and the straps the way they are placed give a lot support. The sandals are sturdy and give many years of wear.
