These are very cute and have great support. The only thing wrong with them are the straps. No matter how many times I loosen them, they tighten to the point of extreme discomfort on my foot and toe. I am tugging on straps every few minutes while wearing them. I don’t know if this is a defective pair since I have never owned this brand/type before? Maybe they stay put for others?

I have problem feet and tender skin, so my needs are very particular, and my chances of finding comfortable shoes is very slim. Still, I keep trying, especially as my current shoe collection is wearing out and is no longer comfortable. I saw in one of my health groups that Chacos were highly recommended for comfort by people with EDS, like me, so I ordered a variety of styles, sizes, and widths to try at home. This was one of them. The adjustability of the sandal strap was intriguing to me and seemed promising for getting the fit just right. I was eager to try them on. When they arrived, I noticed a strong scent that reminds me of chocolate. (Chaco /Chocolate? Is this on purpose?) I believe it comes from the rubbery soles. I am not a fan of scented products, as the chemicals aggravate my migraines and asthma. I did not react, thankfully but wanted to earn others why are sensitive to fragrances, like myself. If Chaco Doors not add a scent to their shoes, I am curious as to what I am smelling. I put on each pair, adjusting straps just so and then tightening the buckle, then stepped around in my carpeted home to see how walking would feel. Unfortunately, none of the seven different pairs will work for me. I think they are great, for normal people, but soft-tissued feet like mine cannot tolerate these shoes. I wear a wide shoe, and even the wide sizes of Chacos felt uncomfortable on the back, inner side, where the arch support slopes into a heel cup. Every step felt this edge digging unnaturally into my foot. I also cannot tolerate the small, stationary strap on the side, as I walk, because the edge of it does not move with my foot, so it rubs my skin there. I know from experience that the slightest anomaly in a shoe will wear a sore into my tender skin after a mere half a day of wearing. I am very sad that not even the wide size won't work for me, but I could see how they would be otherwise reasonably comfortable sandals for regular folks. Every foot is different, so try them yourself if you aren't like me, but I am back to the drawing board with my quest for tolerable sandals.

These sandals are too loose even at the tightest setting. My heel slipped up and down too much when walking.

My left foot is slightly larger than my right, but it is very rare for this to make a difference when I am purchasing shoes. The left shoe on the pair that I tried was significantly smaller and tighter than the right, and the straps are not adjustable across the top of the foot. So the right was perfect and felt great, but the left had me in immediate pain. I could not tell if this was the discrepancy in my foot size or this pair had slight variances, because it was very noticeable and I usually do not have this problem with any style (like if the pair is too narrow, it is narrow on both of my feet, not just one or the other).

When tightened enough for my feet the strap drug on the floor. Cannot tighten the back portion around your ankle either so had to go back.

When I pulled them out of the box I was surprised how clunky they were. They’re pretty big, with a big sole. I followed the instructions on tightening the straps but couldn’t get them to stop constricting both of my big toes! I could only take a few steps before I would have to readjust the straps. I sent them back and ordered the ones without the toe strap. Hoping those are more comfortable because I really like how they look and the arch support.

I have wanted to try these shoes for a long time and finally decided to spend the money on them. Unfortunately, the fit was very odd. I could adjust the front straps but the heel strap was too big and that couldn’t be adjusted. Overall, they looked odd on my feet and the arch was huge. Back they go.

I'm currently wearing this sandal at home on carpet to decide if I will keep them. As I read on another review, the fully adjustable straps become tighter and tighter as I walk, especially around my big toe. I've been stopping every so often to re-adjust the shoe, which of course won't work for daily activity and/or hiking. Somewhat mysteriously, it seems to be happening much more on one foot than the other. Wondering if anyone else had this problem initially but became happy with the shoe once it was fully broken in? I'm concerned that if this is happening at home, it will only be worse when on the street or hiking trails. Aside from this issue, it looks decent for a rugged sport and/or comfort sandal.

I really wanted to like these shoes after hearing so much about them. I went to get fitted in a store and they told me I needed a 9 wide, I've never in my life bought a wide (actually needed narrows before) but I went with what they said. When they arrived it felt like I had clown shoes on because there was so much extra room in the toe area. I returned and tried on the normal width, still had a lot of excess weight and space in that area. I will say they had amazing arch support and I wish I could've found a size that worked for me. Alas, off to Tevas I go.

1st time ordering CHACO's. I'm very disappointed.Ordered a 10 wide and it was anything BUT wide. Length was ok , heel was wide. Strange fit. Never had this problem before.

I have a pair of KEENS that I typically wear during warm weather and LOVE! But although they are perfect to walk cross country in, on trails, and even through water they aren't the most attractive shoes. I wanted to see if anything was out there that was cooler, cute, and great for outside, long distance walking. However, this particular Chaco shoe is NOT it. I'm not very happy with this shoe at all. It's bulky.. like a block.. and the nylon straps aren't comfortable at all. It's not ugly and I'm sure the colored straps are a lot more appealing than the black ones I ordered but if you're going to walk at any rate of speed to speak of for a long distance then you don't want this shoe. ---- I'll keep looking.

In spite of ordering a W, the straps were still too short to accommodate my high instep. I wish shoe manufacturers realized that extended sizes also need more than just a wider footbed.

I walked around in these for about two minutes. Felt like blocks of wood on my feet. I don’t get it how people find these so comfortable. They are kind of cute but I expected a snap buckle instead of something I would have to pull to adjust every time. And they also run long.

we'll, I know there are a lot of Chaco fans but I am not one of them. Shoe was heavy and homely and really didn't meet the arch support criteria I needed.

I ordered the wide width as I have flat feet. However, when I received the package, the box stated that it was M, which is medium width. For someone who has flat and wide feet, it's very tough to find comfortable sandals or shoes in general that fit well. I'm not sure if it was a mistake in shipment but I was very unhappy with the purchase as I'd been looking forward to receiving these pair. Will be returning asap.

These are my first time trying Chacos after hearing many raves. They must not be right for my shape of foot (bunions, wide forefoot, narrow at heel, flat arch, overpronated). I was happy with the arch support, but the sole also curves upwards on the outer edge of the heel as well, which forces my foot to roll inwards. I’ve never had this problem before. Usually, shoes are too wide for me at the heel, but the heel channel on these Chacos (and the one without the toe loop, I’ve tried both) is extremely narrow and my foot doesn’t fit in properly. Otherwise, it seems like a well-made, sturdy shoe.

I so wanted to love these! Going on a trip to Hawaii and doing light hiking, waterfalls and lots of walking. So many of my hiking, active friends love them. I have the flip flops so I know the feel. I couldn’t get over the back thing that rises up against edges of my feet by heels pushed on my fat feet (even the wides!) and I just couldn’t do it. I tried walking around in the house and my sides and bottom of heel were killing! I ordered all the sides available and they sadly are all going back. I decided on the tevas tirras and terra fi lite instead.
