Get ready to bleed! Or at least use band aids. The new reinforced style didn't take into account that most shoes put extra padding around stiff heals. If you're questioning the width at all, don't do it. I've been "breaking in" mine for about a week and it's starting to look hopeless DON'T PAY THE EXTRA money!

Ouch! I've worn Converse for over 20 years and I'm excited they are trying to make some with more support. That said, I've tried and returned both pairs of All Star IIs (high tops and low). I know Converse require breaking in, but the heel of this pair dug so much I couldn't bear to break them in.

I wear a women 9.5 in the original Chucks (10 for all other shoes) and the 9.5 fits great as well for these Chucks II. My feet are quite narrow, so I can see why some people felt they needed to get a larger size in these than in the original Chucks; the new improved insole does make the Chucks II a bit tighter (not shorter though). Now, in terms of comfort, I have to say I would not have been able to wear them for a long walk without some lightly padded wool blend socks. I tried them on with regular thin socks and they were rubbing my the back of my feet and the top of my toes. With proper socks, right out of the box, I was able to walk around for days on my trip to Mexico City without blisters.

I was a bit concerned with how these would work out. I love the style/look of Converse All-Stars but I haven't worn them in years because they are too narrow and lack padding. The hype/concept of the All Star II appealed to me and I thought I would give them a shot. After a few weeks of wearing and breaking them in I am very pleased. They are a really great every day shoe and the black on black can even been worn to work depending on how casual your workplace is. Overall if you had issues with the fit/comfort of your Chucks in the past you may want to take a look at these. The price is right and the style is classic.

These are true to size, unlike the original chucks where I could get away with wearing a half-size down. The insole is nice and cushy, and they got rid of that dreaded plastic heel cup! My insoles *are* a little squeaky, but not obnoxiously so; alternatively I think I could fix it by putting a little paper between the shoe itself and the insole. I don't mind the elastic that holds the tongue in place, either. The canvas also seems to be a denser, more durable weave. I'm sure I'll wear these until they get holes, just like my original chucks -it'll just take a lot longer now that I'm pushing 40.

The Chuck Taylor II is an upgrade from the basic Chuck Taylor with a higher quality upper and a thicker foam insole for improved comfort.The basic Chuck Taylor runs half a size long so if you wear a 10 1/2 with Nike or New Balance you need a 10 with Chuck Taylor.The Chuck Taylor II runs the same in length as the basic Chuck Taylor but it is a tighter fit due to the thicker insole. It is especially tight along the little toe. You could go up a half size for more room in the toe box but that would create heel rub. My solution was to buy a 10, just as I do with the basic Chuck Taylor. I wore them in the house two hours a day with thick socks. After a week, they had loosened up enough to wear all day. After two weeks, they shape themselves around your foot for a snug but comfortable fit.Their superior materials should provide a longer life than the basic Chuck Taylors.

I love Chucks, but the toe section of this shoe is very narrow. I was so disappointed because I wanted an all black Chuck for work. This shoe squeezed my toes together. I do have wide feet.

These were my first pair of Chucks, ever. I was excited about the cushy soles when these Allstars came out and immediately bought a pair. These were easy to break in and very comfortable. Unfortunately, they only last about 5 months until the bottom started to separate. Wet toes just doesn't put anyone in a good mood. 8 months in and an extra $20 of shoe glue... The bottom is separated again. These are just not worth the money and very poorly made for 5 months of wear.

Love these cons! I highly recommend them.They are much more comfortable than my other Cons. These have a nice cushion inside unlike the others and have a little heavier canvas. I wish they came in other colors. I've had no break in period. Put them on and go!

A lot of people note they have bled when wearing these. I haven't had any issues. Maybe they aren't ordering the right size or tying their shoes too tight. I have enjoyed my Chuck's so far and look forward to a good run with them. A true classic.

I bought these for my 14 yo daughter and she loves them. She says they are very comfortable and she has done a lot of walking in them. She loves the all black style!

I bought these for a friend who has worn the original Chuck Taylor for a long time. She initially didn't like them due to the internal straps which hold the tongue in place, but decided to cut them out and says they feel great now. Love these shoes! I purchased them to wear for work (on my feet all day) and their subtle, all black design looks great and the cushioned inside lets my feet feel great. I also have these in the gray (Thunder/White/Navy). Highly recommended!

The new inserts in these Converse are so comfortable! I love Converse for a casual look but they have al aye been too uncomfortable...until now! Love them!!

I haven't had any of the fit issues, or heel-rubbing problems that others have mentioned. These Chucks fit great. The Lunarlon insole really does make a huge difference in comfort. I've walked a mile in these shoes with no foot fatigue. Besides the Lunarlon insole, the tongue straps (which keep the tongue centered), are my next favorite update with this shoe. The slightly padded tongue is also great (not too noticeable though). Thumbs up!

Converse put a breath of new life into these staple classics.

I purchased them for my husband because he refuses to wear sneakers that are not black on black. It's very hard to find sneakers that look "stylish" but still black on black so these were a big hit. They are very comfortable according to my husband who wears a size 14.
