I love these convertible pants and have had them before in full cotton. They are a little tight in the waist and I just ordered some Columbia shorts same 34 waist and loose so just heads up. Get them they are great.

It's so comfortable and you have to choices in only one piece.
I'm really satisfied with this pant and short at the same time.

Seems like durable fabric and breathes well. Didn't fit quite as well as I would like (a little on the baggy end). Main complaint would be with the convertible zippers: they aren't integrated very seamlessly into the pants (i.e. very obvious), and the zipper didn't always run smoothly when taking off or reattaching the legs. Gets the job done though.

Comfortable fit, light-weight and breathable. I haven't worn them enough to know how they'll hold up to washing and wearing.

As this is a convertible pant, you will still feel the zip around your knee. But in all, it is still a comfortable pant with good water-repellent function.

These pants have a wonderful feature that allows you to
zip off the bottoms to create shorts and this comes in handy when you are out for a day in the sun and when you get hot just zip off and the reverse if it gets colder.

I really liked the ability to hike in these shorts during the day and the use them as pants at night (kept the mosquitoes off). It only takes a minute to switch between the two versions. The material was soft and light weight, while still providing great sun protection. I will say however that they were surprisingly baggy, a lot more than I expected based on what I saw in the picture. They also ran a little bit big and longer than what I would normally like. Overall nice pants/shorts.

The pants fit great and love the stretch feel of them while moving. During the summer months have been mostly using them as shorts and have been pretty pleased with them. The one aspect I am not a big fan of is that they have a slight shine to them that isn't clear from the photos.

Purchased this product early January and was surfing the web to find a more durable, flexible and reliable cargo pant that i could take on long hikes with me and my friends. I bought this in size 30/30 and my waist had such a perfectly snug fit but the length of the pant was just a little too "lengthy" (no puns intended). The convertible form of it in shorts has made it so much easier for me to hike comfortable after a long sunny day out here in Las, Vegas. This amazing product made for many outdoors activities as well as daily life has gone through three weeks of fun without hesitation of having to worry about buying another pair constantly is able to put a smile on my face when i am wearing usually as a daily commute to university campus and right after, hiking! Compared to North Face's convertible pants, the material made out of this is a lot more durable and flexible. I fell in love with these pant the second i slipped them on! 9/10 would recommend and to be quite honest with you i've been genuinely happy lately with almost every product i have purchased from Columbia. This company never fails to meet our expectations and everyday is a good day when i have a pair of pant that actually works and keeps me smiling!

I'm 6' 3" 180 lbs and the size 32x34 gave me a great fit. They were a little snug in the waist, but that could be me growing outward, just means a belt isn't required. The length is spot on too. I haven't used them yet, but the convertible function already has me excited. They are fairly light weight, so won't provide much warmth, but I plan on using these in the summer months anyway. The extra pockets and stretch material promise to make these my go to pants for fishing, hiking, and rafting.

Love the material these pants are made from. However they do run small. Pockets are very functional and over all design is very pleasing.

Item(s) fit too small for labeled size. This will not stop me from continuing ongoing service as a loyal customer of Zappos! :)

These pants are decent with a few issues that prevent them from being a favorite. They are cool and airy and quick dry and comfortable for all activities. The pockets are decently sized. They are however, slightly shiny and clingy. Lower legs are roomy, but when I get up from sitting, they cling to my legs and I think they look a little odd when that happens. They also are not so roomy in the front and rear body trunk area. They are a little too revealing of my body contours in those areas. Maybe if I was 20 years old I would like that kind of cut, but I'm pushing 60 and nobody wants to see my shape that closely. I may be overly critical, these pants do pass the 'wife test'. That is, I am allowed to wear them in public and she thinks they look fine. As far as the zip-off legs, they are a bit tough to put back on. I know most people zip them off as the day gets hot, but my hope was to put them on towards evening for mosquito protection. Not so easy to put them back on while wearing the pants.

These pants fit great, look great, but most of all feel great. Excellent for hot weather travel. Light weight make them perfect for packing and being able to convert to shorts is a real plus. Wore these on vacation during very hot weather and they were cool and comfortable. Don't know how they will hold up, but for now I am quite pleased with these pants. I know there are more expensive convertible pants out there but, for the price these are very nice.

I have purchased a lot of Columbia apparel over the years. The quality is still pretty good, but sizing has become an issue. I've been a reliable 36/32 with all of my Columbia pants. Perhaps it's just the cut of these convertibles but I had to go up to a 38 to get a proper fit. The second complaint is with the front pockets. They are actually more shallow than the rear patch pockets. Not a big deal for the intended use of these pants, but still....
Purchased for a trip to the backcountry, I'm sure they'll do the job. I doubt I'll wear them beyond that though.

I'm 5'6" tall and around 140 pounds. Even though the link says 30, it is far longer than than that. There should be a little long to make sure they are covering your boots when you're sitting down, but they just keep going for inches. Had to return to to that, and they were very baggy. Very wide all the way down where I felt like I was wearing pants from 2001.

I'll start by admitting that I am a female hiking guide and pretty particular about my pants. I order mens pants because women's pants are ridiculously slim-fitting and that just doesn't fly in my line of work. That said, these pants don't thrill me, but they serve the purpose. They zip off, so that's handy, but the ankles don't have zippers so the zipped-off pant legs are tough to get over your hiking shoes; if I wore boots, i'd have to take them off to get the legs off. On the inside of the material that makes up the pants is an odd mesh-like material that snags on your socks and skin as you put the pants on; I can't figure out what purpose it serves.
There are sufficient pockets, including cargo pockets which are essential for hiking (you can't keep bulky things in hip pockets while walking for miles), the small amount of stretch is really nice.

I purchased these pants for my husband to use while hiking in Hawaii, unfortunately they are going back because they are way too small. I purchased a 34x34 (he normally wears a 34/35 in jeans), but they were VERY snug around the butt and thigh area on him. The material is very stretchy with a lot of give, but it still looked way too tight on him. I wanted to love them, but wish they ran more on the larger side. I length was perfect for his 6'2" build!

with all my other pants fitted or straight leg , these pants are cut super wide at the bottom , they should taper down a little so when you walk the bottoms of your pants arent flapping in the wind

I wear a 32/33 waist but these 34s were painfully tight. Shorts length was below the knee.
