Looks like a cute flat strappy sandal but has great arch support. Very comfy. Going to be my go-to sandals for the summer!

I wear a 6 1/2 and against my better judgment ordered a 6 instead of a 7, based on reviews. I am unsure if this was the right decision because there is no extra shoe whatsoever at the toe or heel ends; I don't want to look like a try-hard. The shoes are extremely comfortable and almost exactly what I was looking for.

I'm normally an 8.5, preferably Narrow in sandals, but usually get away with Medium width. If only whole sizes offered, i usually have to go up to a 9. After reading the reviews, I ordered an 8 and they fit perfectly. Super comfortable with just enough support. I like that the streaks are a bit wider than the usual sandal in this style, and you can adjust the side straps a bit so they don't hit ankle/toe bones.

I usually wear a 7 and sometimes a 6.5 in sandals. I ordered a 7 and they fit perfectly. I got the charcoal and pewter, and it's a perfect neutral with a little shine from the pewter strap. They are beautiful, comfortable, and would have looked great with everything I own. Although they have moderate arch support, it was not enough for me, so I had to return them. I had plantar fasciitis last summer, and I need strong arch support.

This is my second pair of the OluKai Upena sandals. The first was a multi-color one that I have gotten so many compliments on. I bought a second pair in black because they are probably the most comfortable sandal I've ever worn. I live in Florida so pretty much wear sandals year round. They have excellent arch support. Even walking all day long, like when you're shopping, your feet don't start hurting. LOVE THEM!

Absolutely love these sandals and they have become my go when I can’t decide what to wear. Foot bed is sturdy yet the feminine straps make them more dressy than my flip flops by OluKai (which I also love). They are pricey, but the quality and workmanship are there to justify the price. 5 stars without hesitation.

I loved this sandal, and the right one was so comfortable. Unfortunately the bunion on my left foot proved to be a problem- the toe strap was angled down where it met the strap that goes across the top of the foot. So between the location of those 2 straps it wasn’t gonna work out in the long run. I wish it had worked out because I really liked the color and comfort.

These are the BEST sandals I have ever worn! I bought them and wore them on a trip where I did 6 miles of walking and my feet felt fabulous - with no break-in time. I have bought Merrell sandals for a long time, but these seem to be even better quality and are just as comfortable (if not more!). I love the style! Wish I would have known about these before - I would 100% buy these again!

This shoe was very cute and the color (charcoal/pewter) was a nice neutral. Size wise, I am between a 5.5 and 6 with 5.5 generally being the best fit in a sandal. In this shoe I would advise sizing up. Ultimately, I had ordered both this shoe and the 'Awe'Awe style, and preferred the AweAwe, but that was strictly a style choice.

These shoes! So cute and comfortable. The style can easily be dressed up or down. I have slightly flat feet and these provide the right amount of arch support. The first time I wore these I was on my feet all day for a photo shoot and they were comfortable all day long. Fit was true to size; I consistently wear and 8 and the fit was spot on. So glad I found these shoes! Worth every dollar.

I love love love these and plan to get them in every color! Highly recommend! The Upena style feels as if there very well made and should hold up really well!

I’ve wore these sandals every day on a 10 day European trip and my feet feel great! The shoes have tackled cobblestones, concrete, sand, gotten wet (and dried quickly) and haven’t caused a blister. And best yet, they look pretty cute! Not bad for a pair of shoes that handled 10 miles in one day. I’m normally wear an 8 1/2 and the size 8 fit perfectly- even when my feet were hot from the high temps.

These are super comfy sandals. I love that they're low profile but cute, and the toe wrap helps keep them secure. I'm pleased that the footbed is comfy and doesn't seem to get sweaty or sticky.

The fit was perfect. I go on walks with then and they are amazingly convertable.

Love the look of Upena but the toe strap was uncomfortable on my foot. It hit my big toe in an awkward position on both sides. The leather would probably stretch over time but I decided not to take the chance and returned them. The foot bed and arch support was comfortable - similar to my other Olukai sandals.

I cannot say enough good things about these sandals. I have, shall we say, problem feet. If I have to walk or stand a lot, my feet hurt, swell, and just generally get mad at me. This is especially problematic on vacations (cities, theme parks) where I'm walking and standing all day long, and I've never had good luck with a "vacation shoe" until now. I just got back from a 7 day trip to NYC and I can officially sing this shoe's praises. My watch says I walked about 65 miles over the course of the week, and the 'Upena worked miracles. I abandoned them one day in favor of running shoes, and it was a huge mistake. The running shoes just can't compare in terms of comfort and support. Go figure. These are durable, have plenty of support where I need it (arches), they have a good amount of cushioning in the heel and ball of your foot (so pounding the pavement all day didn't kill my feet). They are not super cushy like a lot of the comfort sandals I saw in stores, which I think is a good thing - they offer plenty of support while having just enough cushion and bounce to totally protect your feet. There is no shoe in the world that will alleviate all my foot pain after walking all day long, but these came pretty darn close, and I am in love. I plan to grab a pair in a different color now. As for sizing - I typically wear an 8 or 8.5 depending on the shoe, and I have wide feet which can sometimes cause fitting issues. An 8 in these is the perfect fit - the length is just right and the width is good. Since they're leather, I thought there might be some serious stretching after a week of full-time wear, but surprisingly they've held their shape with only a little stretching. There has not been enough stretch to require moving to a different notch on the strap buckle. They're incredibly sturdy. If you're on the fence about these, go for it. They have been worth every penny!

I love these sandals! I bought them to replace a pair of old leather Keens that are out of production, and these are really cute and casual, but still look nice. It took about 4 days for them to wear in just in my experience. They rubbed a bit, but it didn't take long for them to be very comfy.

Dude. I’ve worn these almost non stop in the last year that I’ve owned them. I’ve worn them on light hikes, while floating the river, while bouldering around nearby lakes. They leather has faded a bit, but they still look amazing. And they’re as comfy as day 1 with no real damage yet. There was a little bit of breaking in to do, but just in the way that the toe straps were a little tight when I first got the sandals. But on that note, I have extremely wide feet and relatively large toes. And they were never uncomfortable, but rather just a little tight. My only complaint is that they can be a bit uncomfortable if I wear them on a really hot day or I’m sweating quite a bit. But I also live in Nevada where the weather can be - you guessed it, very hot. I plan on buying a second pair in a different color very soon, or maybe buying a different shoe from this brand. I’m more than satisfied, this is one of my favorite shoe purchases ever!!

I wanted to like these shoes, as I have another OluKai sandal that I love; however, the toe straps hit in funny places and bothered my toes too much. Back they went.

Handsome sandal, well made as to be expected from OluKai. Too big for my size 5 foot. Tightening the steps pushed my foot further into the shoes and my toes hung over. Thank you Zappos for letting me try these on! Sorry to have to return.

I like them very much. I am just experimenting on my adjustment of my strap for the best comfort. I will be traveling to Europe with many tours on my schedule soon so I’ll follow up when I get back!!

It took me a long time to find a comfortable, practical sandal that was also cute. This one achieved that. I've been wearing them for several weeks now and haven't experienced any pain or chafing. The gold strap across the brown gives just a little dressy boost to what could otherwise be sort of ordinary.

I love these sandals! I need good arch support and I can always count on OluKai to provide it. This pair was comfortable right out of the box with no need to break them in. The metallic gold strap is a really nice touch. I highly recommend them!

I love these sandals! I loved the first pair so much that I ordered two more pair in different colors and this is one of them. I also ordered another similar style ("Kalapu") that's synthetic and waterproof in two colors. I usually wear a size 7 1/2 and going down half a size worked fine for me.
